The thing about this book is that so many people's reaction to it is in response to one goodreads review where someone is clutching their pearls about the taboo expressions of sexuality. Which is one of the reasons I love this book. It is raw and real it doesn't hide what it is like to be a young person learning about themselves and about love and about what feels good. I think fighting with someone who clearly wasn't the intended audience is not the way to support this book. This book is intended for weird queer people, not quirky, but WEIRD. It's about the horror of being a young lesbian. It's about the horror of being a woman, about being a daughter. English only speakers should be GRATEFUL that it was translated into this language. I really think it is such a realistic depiction of codependency that young queer people often experience. It is an amazing metaphor for so many things and I really think people expecting to just get a quick scare are sorely mistaken about what this book is about. It is more than horror. It's queer perversion in such an amazing way.
