Sometimes, seeing the world through rose-colored glasses is exactly the medicine we need to set down the heaviness of our lives. We need to play. We need to stick our faces in the sunshine. We need to smell the flowers, plant our feet in the dirt, smile into the breeze. The magic in our happy, in our bliss, radiates outward from within, and floats on and lands on those around us. It’s a positive contagion. It’s an act of pollination - to feel the bliss is to create the stuff that spreads, creating flowers and honey along the way. We need it; we need those glasses, that bliss, these flowers.
And sometimes, looking at life through rose-colored glasses dims the brilliance of the world around you. Your pain is sharp and magnificent, like a jewel-encrusted sword. It is powerful and beautiful. It is not something to be sought out - rather, to be pulled from the stone of your essence, your being, your experiences. When we can extract that pain, and hold it in our hands, we can marvel at it for the gorgeous talisman that it is - steeped in magic, an emblem of our understanding, a dazzling reminder that every part of us is beautiful, and makes up the gifts of our soul. Embrace the sword of your pain, be willing to turn it over in your hands, and know that you are wise enough to hold it safely, and brave enough to wield its power. You are the great swordsperson. You are the warrior, soft and mighty, brave and bold, calm and masterful. You are the one who pulled your greatest weapon from the stone. You are ready to face the battle, no matter what it might be. And with time, effort, patience, and grace, you will conquer. You cannot fail. You must keep going, keep perfecting the craft that is your life. Know your sword. Know your pain, and hail victorious.

I will leave you with this: Listen to your soul and ask - what is coming forth? The flower or the sword? What wants to be seen, to be cradled and loved? What wants to be set free? I’ve found that the more we practice the subtle, yet powerful act of tuning in, the easier it becomes to know exactly what we need.
The beauty is witnessed in the noticing.
