A Song For Sleeping-{Will+Margot}
She always met any sort of help with hesitation. As if this was a load she had to carry on her own. Closed off with well built walls, Will was used to watching her refuse every attempt at trying to help her relax. As if relaxation was a crime she refused to be guilty of. It was a strange thought that now passed through his mind, one that was quiet there in the background. One that said he would give anything to see her at peace, to see her smile without burdens. To see her walk outside, the autumn air blow about the light strands of her hair and a smile on her face, one that he imagined if it was honest would linger like lights in haze of blue and green clarity that made up the color of her eyes.
He pressed Noah a little closer as he stood up. He was always doing his best to be careful. And maybe he was a little too cautious with him. One time or another Margot had actually laughed at his over carefulness. He liked the sound of her laughing in the quiet of the house. Margot was a quiet presence as was Noah. Quieting lingering in every room, in ever corner of his mind. But it was still solace, somehow so obvious, in this isolation.
He held out Noah to her. “Don’t worry about it. I’ll get you something. You’re half awake. And besides, he misses you. He told me.” he said, letting out a small laugh at the end of his words.
Margot was still a little taken back still by Will's behavior. She didn't know if she even deserved his kindness after the way she had lied to him. But here he was, helping her raise their son. She had never received any sort of kindness from either of her family members. Margot thought it might take years for her to not be shocked by Will's behavior every day.Â
Gently, she brought Noah into her arms. Margot loved the feeling of having her son with her. He brought out something in her that she had never felt before. It was a warmth and love. Noah loved her and Will. He brought them together. Maybe they weren't a real family, but hopefully they could become one soon.
She held Noah close, pressing her lips to his forehead. "I missed him too." Margot whispered. "It's strange not waking up with him in the morning. Although, I enjoyed the extra sleep."
Margot moved forward, heading to the kitchen. "You should let us help you make breakfast. You know, as family bonding time." The words felt awkward coming from her mouth, but she hoped Will would understand.
