The Art Of Manners
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
Assalamualaikum warahmatullahi wa barakatuh
Alhamdulillah (All praises and thanks to ﷲ), work has been getting better. Subhanallah. As I put my intention and reflect on the purpose of why I am working, He eases it and guides me through it.
Two weeks ago, on the Friday , I attended a seminar on Art Of Manners: Islamic Code Of Ethics organised by Al-Maghrib Institute. It was my first time and I felt fortunate to be able to attend, learning the importance of manners and character.
The talk begins with the speaker giving an introduction of adab and akhlak. Adab are etiquettes or manners that are the norms of conduct of an individual in situations and circumstances which can be influenced by culture whereas akhlak is a pattern of behaviour and a reflection of one’s natural disposition. Akhlak shapes personalities and can change or acquired through habits, choice and teachings but certain aspects of it are innate.
Like the story about Ashaj Abdul Qais r.a: Rasulullah ﷺ said to him, “You possess two qualities that ﷲ loves, Al-hilm (forbearance ) and Al-Ana (taking time and thoroughness in making decision).” Abdul Qais r.a then asked whether he acquired the qualities or was it gifted by ﷲ S.W.T. Rasulullah ﷺ replied that the qualities were from ﷲ. Nonetheless, Abdul Qais was credited for maintaining the qualities and also acting upon it.
Subhanallah.
In everyone, there are qualities that ﷲ has given us. It is up to us to take the responsibility to act upon and do good. Character can be changed and qualities can be developed in a person. If we make a habit to improve ourself, insyaAllah Allah will help and guide us.
The speaker gave 6 commitments that one can help in improving character.
Companionship - Keeping good company for both online (social platforms) and offline helps to bring out the best and also the worst in a person. Online, we seldom get triggered with malicious comments that brings out the inner keyboard warrior. We get into defensive mode and always try to bring out opinions without realising that sometimes we might hurt others. Hence, having good company online is important they can help us remind our deen and religion.
Mentorship - Having a role model. It is crucial that our role model is someone who has passed away because if they were a living person, one may be tested and fall into fitnah. Hence, the best and true role model for all humankind, our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. His outstanding virtues, characteristics and relevant teachings continue to influence and change people.
Environment - To have a change in lifestyle - be more focused in achieving goals and not procrastinate.
Habits - Have commitment to change habits. For example, having daily or weekly goals like “Reading a page of Qur’an after prayers”
Sustaining motivation through inspiration - Inspiration is more sustainable in strengthening drive. Connect with the Quran and practice the teaching of it. Do reflection and always think and have good thoughts about Allah SWT.
Worship = Ibadah - The 5 obligatory prayers, voluntary fasting, sadaqah and more acts of worship that remind and bring us closer to Allah helps to reinforce akhlak. Spend your time in this dunya to do beneficial things that benefits you for the hereafter too.
“O Allah, guide me to have the best of character and rid me of worst character.”
Ameen.
Hijrah
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
Actions are according to intentions and everyone will get what was intended. Whoever migrates which an intention for ﷲ and His Messenger ﷺ , the migration will be for the sake of ﷲ and His Messenger. And whoever migrated for worldly gains or to marry a woman, then his migration will be for the sake of whatever he migrated for. - Rasulullah ﷺ (Hadith: Bukhari & Muslim)
It’s late but Salam Maal Hijrah to my Muslim brothers and sisters. Alhamdulillah, ﷲ has allowed us to reach the new Islamic Year (1439H). May He grant us steadfastness, patience, and strong imaan to be consistent and persistent in doing good deeds to please and attain His love. Amiin.
I believe many of us wants to hijrah and move away from the bad past and improve ourselves to be a better person. Start this new year with good intentions, that whatever good things you’re doing, it’s for ﷲ. To win His love, to please Him, to seek His forgiveness and mercy. So that he ease the pain, heal the heart, increase you in knowledge and wealth.
Whatever that is troubling, worries, saddens you - confide Him, He is the best Listener,All-Hearing, As-Sami’.
جزاك اللهُ خيرًا
I cried to God about it because I couldn’t explain it to anyone else.

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْم
It's only the second day.
I am feeling tired, sad and my heart is aching.
Dunya is full of tests. Yes, i know it. But why am I like this?
I need to remind myself - sabr, sabr, sabr. Have tawakkul, trust Him. All the things that is happening is planned by Him, and I know he only wants the best for me. I get to learn new things from this and insyaAllah it’ll bring closer to Him.
This pain, the trials - it's only temporary. Better things will come later. Hold on to it.
O Allah, heal this pain, this heart, make it strong.
Dear me, stop whining and complaining, tell the worries and pain to Allah and only confide in Him. Because only He can ease the heart and relieve it.
Syafakallah.

Opportunities
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
Assalamualaikum
I’m feeling so blessed and thankful to Him for allowing and giving me opportunities to go through all of this so that I can learn something and be resilient. To get the experience and improve myself as a person and His slave. To become a better Muslimah and mukminin. To trust his plans and decree. I have to keep putting my outmost effort and be ready for it. So what if it leads to failure or disappointment? The most important is to stand strong, put your heads up and learn from it. Be positive because Allah plans are always the best.
O insan, why are you always worrying?
When Allah promised many times that he will answer to your prayers and that He knows what is best for you. Take the time to reflect and bring yourself closer to Him. He loves you and misses you, He is listening and He will always answer.
#Reminder to myself to always be grateful of everything that He has written for me.#
What’s Written For You Will Not Miss You
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
Assalamualaikum.
Today, I will be sharing about a talk I attended, titled “What Is Written For You Will Not Miss You”. Forgive me for any shortcomings or mistakes. I am here to learn and share my knowledge with everyone. May Allah increase our knowledge with great understanding.
It can be frustrating and infuriating when things do not go as planned. You start blaming yourself and be disappointed to the verge of giving up. You start pointing fingers, blaming others for getting in your way. We all try our best but sometimes we forgot that Allah is there, He is the All-Knowing.
“What has reached you was never meant to miss you and what has missed you was never meant to reach you.” - Prophet Muhammad pbuh (Hadith: Sahih Sunan Abu Dawuud)
We all go through various adversities in life, be it challenges in work, marriage, education, relationship with others etc. We wait and wait for something, praying for it, making plans for it to go our way and expecting it to arrive and happen for us at a particular, exact time. And we grow impatient at the long wait.
We need to realise that when things do not go our way, it does not mean that it is over and we have to give up. Instead, look at it with a positive perspective. Whatever Allah SWT has destined for you, will not miss you. If it was meant for you, it will not miss you; it will reach you at the time He knows best and planned. We have to keep a strong faith and trust (tawakal) in Allah. Do not be carried away with disappointment. Be patient, keep trying and praying to Him.
Maintain a positive mindset and attitude towards life is also important. The trials may be a sign and lesson for you to be resilient. We have to be strong and spring back into shape. We have to view the hardship in a better perspective. When Allah does not answer our prayer fast, it does not mean that He is angry; perhaps He loves you and wants you to get closer to Him. So pray, supplicate and ask Him. You may think that the piece is meant to fill that empty spot but it can also be the piece that will not fit it. What if its fits in the next phase of your life? Not now, in the future which Allah has planned for you.
Try to have an open heart and embrace the decree that Allah has set for you. For surely, what he plans is the best for you as He knows and understands you. He know when you are ready.
All good things come from Allah.
#Happy Eid-al Adha! May Allah S.W.T forgives our sins and saves us, our family, relatives and friends from the hellfire. And may He allow us to go through hajj in the future. Amiin. I hope everyone have a good day with family on this blessed Friday.#
✨The 10 Ways of Obtaining the Love
of Allaah سبحانه و تعالى✨
✔Sheikh Saleh al-Fawzaan (حفظه الله) listed the 10 ways of obtaining the Love of Allaah as mentioned by:
Ibnul Qayyim رحمه الله تعالى:
1. Reading the Qur’aan, pondering over it and understanding it with its intended meanings.
2. Drawing closer to Allaah سبحانه و تعالى with the nawaafil (supererogatory acts of worship) after the [fulfillment of the] obligatory acts.
3. Constant remembrance of Allaah سبحانه و تعالى in all situations with the tongue, the heart, and the action [of the limbs].
4. Preferring that which Allaah سبحانه و تعالى loves over what the servant loves when the fulfillment of the two conflict.
5. Contemplation over the Names and Attributes of Allaah and what they indicate [of His] perfection and magnificence. And also [contemplating over] what they contain from praiseworthy implications.
6. Contemplation over both the hidden and apparent blessings of Allaah, while bearing witness to His kindness, favor, and distribution of His grace upon His servants.
7. Humbling oneself and wholly submitting to Allaah while admitting one’s dire need of Him.
8. Seclusion with Allaah سبحانه و تعالى at the time of His Divine descent [that is befitting of His perfection and glory] in the last third of the night. And reciting the Qur’aan at this time and concluding it by making tawbah (repentance) and istighfaar (seeking forgiveness).
9. Sitting with the people of goodness and integrity, those who love Allaah, and benefiting from their speech.
10. Distancing oneself from any distracting means that would hinder the heart from Allaah [and His remembrance].

Purifying The Heart
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ
Assalamualaikum.
“O you who believe, avoid most negative assumptions for suspicions in some cases is a sin. And do not spite or backbite each other. Would any of you like to eat the flesh of his dead brother? You would hate it! And be pious to Allah, indeed He is Relenting and Merciful.” - Qur’an 49:12
We’re all humans, we make mistakes, we judge others, we hurt each other.
But there is a way to prevent it. It begins with yourself.
It’s never easy to shut out the evil voices and whispers in the head. However, it is vital that you try your best. If you let that evil voices linger inside you, it makes your heart hard and dark.
It’s obligatory for a Muslim to cleanse both internal - the heart and external (taharah). Purifying the heart is not an easy task, you may struggle in between youself and your nafs. However, you shall try to be better versions of yourselves everyday.
It is a norm to assume things and judge others without basis as you feel that you know everything but it’s between one and his/her actions and Allah. You have no authority to judge how low or high someone’s imaan is as you have no idea what they are going through and their real intentions. Even if you do not say it verbally, the slightest judgement in your head is already a sign of having diseases of the heart (riak, takabur, ujub). Therefore when you witness something and before you say or have a bad thought, you have to be aware of the evil whispers of iblis and try your best to stop it.
Eliminate the voices before it becomes bigger. Recite أعوذ بالله من الشيطان الرجيم (ta’awuudz) and Surah An-Nas to ask Allah for protection against the harmful attacks of syaitaan. Istighfar, istighfar, istighfar and think of good thoughts to prevent yourself from having bad assumptions. Some saints have a past and some sinners have a future. Everyone deserves second chances. The individual you judged might be going through the phase that you went and he/she may be in the process of hijrah. He/she might be on the trying their best to leave his/her bad past and battling with their nafs to stop from doing evil things.
Just because you’re a practicing Muslim, it does not give you the authority to judge others. He/she may have repented and ask forgiveness from Allah. He/she may have good intentions. Who are you and I to judge? The best thing we could do for them is to make du’a to Allah that He ease their journey to hijrah, soften and clean their hearts and guide them to the straight path. Ameen.
Going through the process of purifying the heart is not a simple task, it requires steadfastness (istiqomah) and staying away from intoxicating thoughts. It is never easy but you have to start somewhere. The journey to Allah involves repentance and that is by acknowledging your faults and constantly fighting, pushing the evil thoughts away and pray to Him for help and guidance.
When one purifies his heart, his mind is crystal clear. Purification of the heart by means of remembering of Allah would straighten the tongue and allow it to speak wisdom. When your heart is pure, the walls of judgement breaks down and when you do not prejudge anyone, you will be able to unify and get together. It brings it easier for you to bond and get closer with others as you do not have assumptions or judgements towards them. Clean you hearts first, then the process to have better relationship with the rest of the world will be easier.
#These are takeaways from the talk I attended called “ Purifying before Unifying”. Most of it are rephrased. Forgive me for any shortcomings, mistakes. I am learning and trying to be better. I hope it benefits you.#
All good things come from Allah.
When you have a bad suspicion about a Muslim in your heart, you should increase your consideration toward him and make dua for him. This way you will infuriate Satan and will be able to drive him away. Because of this, Satan will be reluctant to put evil thoughts into your heart, afraid that you would increase your consideration towards your brother and will make dua for him again.
