Optimus Magnus had a simple, easy life for the most part. Despite the difficulties that came with holding as much responsibility as he did because of his position, he enjoyed it. He was good at his jobs. Most days were the same. He wasn’t being attacked by Decepticons or fighting for his life anymore and, for the most part, his reign over Cybertron had been one of peace.
The only part of his life that seemed to remain constantly unpredictable was-
“Blackarachnia…” It was past midnight, yet for some reason, the techno-organic stood at his doorstep, her arms crossed over her chest and an impatient look on her face. It was harder to read her expressions than it used to be, so Optimus struggled with it, but he was slowly getting better. She had come back to Cybertron with him after the war, and he’d given her a cushy position as one of the head scientists on the Steelhaven. He had received his fair share of backlash for that, but honestly? It was worth the trouble if it meant having her around again. Their relationship wasn’t what it used to be, and he didn’t think it would be the same ever again, but he was more than happy; she was alive, she was content, and she was within his reach again, even if he didn’t dare to actually reach out for her. “Did you finish those reports from that experiment you were working on yesterday?”
“Yes,” Blackarachnia, bold as ever, walked past Optimus and into his home. The former Prime only laughed and shut the door behind them, offering a guilty smile. He knew why she was visiting so late- they both did. “But I’m sure you know that’s not what I’m here for, Optimus.”
“Then what are you here for?” He asked before realizing it was pointless and sighing. “Nightmares again?”
