Overhaul
I used to spend way too much time obsessing over what my blog "should be" as a writer and I think I'm done with that. What's the point of having a blog if you don't write anything because you're too afraid? Here's to a new start.

this one is for the kids who sacrificed entire childhoods for their parents the kids who were gifted Reality during the holidays the ones who knew that coal is a precious commodity and realized early on that you had to be your own Santa Claus who raised younger siblings while watching their parents morph into minimum wage slaves For the kids whose eyes told more about them than their mouths ever dared the kids who were culture shocked into silence they who had to bring home raving reviews from half wit teachers praising them on deciphering the meanings of pain in literary characters while they were starring in their own novels this one is for the kids who were fed motivation, drive, stress, success for breakfast otherwise there’d be no lunch or dinner this is for the kids with sharp minds and even sharper tongues the ones you could never insult, mock, or hurt because they had perfected the art of twisting knives into their hearts by their own hands so that pain was only a word this one’s for the kids who never got the chance to be kids who were too busy navigating the middle world between where they are and where they were too West for the East, too East for the West yet neither of either to themselves.

I don't often post music here (let's be real, I don't post much here anymore at all, but hopefully in the near future I will!) but this is too good not to reblog.
You remember too much, my mother said to me recently. Why hold onto all that? And I said, Where can I put it down?
Anne Carson, “The Glass Essay” (via wordsnquotes)
there’s no such thing as a stupid reason not to kill yourself.
your school sells cookies on thursdays? your favorite band is coming out with a new album? you’re still saving up for that tattoo? there’s still five sodas in your fridge and it’d be a shame to let them go to waste? you want to see the season finale of that show you love? keep living.
your reasons don’t have to be big, if they mean anything to you then they’re good reasons.
Yes! Just make something to look forward to
Okay but this is honestly true.
One of the closest times I came to committing suicide was when I was home alone for the weekend a few years ago. The reason I didn’t?
No one else was there to feed the cat until Monday.
That’s it. That’s all that saved me.
See, this is such good advice, because it can put you in the frame of mind that you need to be in to combat depression. Even things that seem little, like, “My plant will die if I don’t water it,” or “I’m the only one that takes out the trash, anyways” are examples of how you’re needed and valuable, even appreciated.
There are people out there that need you and love you. Stay alive friend, because it is so worth it.
You are loved.
Your life has value.
It gets better.
Just hold on for 40 more seconds, and then 40 more seconds.
Count with me if you need to.
And one day, you’ll realize that it’s been a long time since you last found yourself whispering those comforting numbers under your breath.
Find an outlet if you need to.

Stress Management Interactive Websites!
louisatomasiewicz:
During really stressful times, informational websites only do so much and sometimes we need interactive.. here’s a few I find helpful and hope you do too!
AudioEntertainment Binaural Sound - this one’s hard to describe, but basically it’s nice white noise that helps our bodies calm and relieve itself from anxiety and depression symptoms! whole AudioEntertainment YouTube Channel.
Calm Meditation- A free session (or as many as you wish) between 2 and 10 minutes of mindfulness soothing walk-through. Great for beginners or experienced minfulness-ers!
Gratefulness.org - This is strongly based as an educational website but focusing on gratefulness is an important aspect of a stress-free life and happy state of mind.. throughout this website there is a few interactive activities I suggest you look for! :)
Friend Yourself Project- are you ready to be your own best friend instead of your own worst enemy? great self love website that will help you alleviate your stress though self-care.
Gratitude Journal (Free online)- online free gratitude journal for daily reflection. Keeping gratitude as a center in your life can help alleviate stress and keep you focused on the positive.
Guided Mindfulness Meditations - collection of short mindfulness meditations on different topics (body scan, breathing, sleep, etc) to help you stay calm and aware in your daily life.
Light a Candle- in many traditions and culture lighting a candle is a significant reflection of gratefulness - light your own candle and reflect on your gratefulness and slow down.
Privnote - Send a letter to someone (or yourself) that will self-destruct immediately after being read. please use for positive uses only!
Player 2- this website helps you talk through your conflicts with another person in a game-like atmosphere!
Relaxing Games - a few games to help relax, relieve anxiety and aggression, and distract you for a little while!

Smiling Mind- App and interactive website designed to incorporate and encourage mindfulness into daily life! Please give it a shot!
Stress Analyst - helps you rate and react to your stress level in a very calming supportive way!
The Comfort Spot- Nestled into the vast web there’s this little stop of comfort, vent your stories and receive support from others who care.. it’s like a hug online.
The Nicest Place on the Internet- Getting a free hug through the internet.. sometimes something is better than nothing, and here’s a lovely way to get a hug and some love when you feel lonely or uncared for.
The Tree Story- A little place of your own to create and share your artistic thoughts and feelings, start some writing and relieve some stress in a friendly community!
The Thoughts Room- A simple way to vent and get out some worrying thoughts, and watch them disappear.
The Quiet Place Project - a simple way to take a few minutes away from the stress and chaos of life - give yourself a few minutes - you deserve it. (app)
Write a Letter To Yourself!- Well this may not seem like an “anxiety/stress relief” website, but I always find it inspiring to write to myself in the future, it gets me thinking further into my life instead of dwelling on the current situation.
So far, I believe I’ve made a sappy emotional post every single year on this day, but today I feel too good to be super emotional so, let me just say this: It’s been six years since I saw my favourite band for the first time, and if that hadn’t happened I wouldn’t be alive to even write this post right now (I mean, it was because of a series of events in the years after that if we want to be technical, but that’s another post for another day *cough* in April, on the 21st to be exact *cough*), let alone my third book, so, I’m gonna just stop for a minute and be thankful that I saw VOTA for the first time six years ago, because without them my life would not be the same at all.
Alright, you may continue your scrolling now if you’d like, but if you want to actually hear my favourite band, you should listen to them on Spotify (recommendations with links below)
Alright: https://open.spotify.com/track/51nnTGXFHLsFmLAnzZwKyr
Honestly: https://open.spotify.com/track/41miMk3lAVef7hz0okNhhs
& If you like them, they’re giving away their most recent album for free here: https://lovefoundme.org all you have to do is watch the video explaining why they’re giving the album away and then it’s yours.
Okay, that’s all I had to say for now.
Have an awesome day.
Note to self
Facebook has nothing new to say,
Twitter has nothing new to say,
Tumblr (probably) has nothing new to say,
But you do.
a blessing for NaNoWriMo:
may the first word you think of be the one you were looking for
may you look up and it’s only been 20 minutes instead of an hour
may your characters surprise you with their eagerness to make themselves known to you
may caffeine actually help
may you never find yourself in the middle of a beautiful scene that COMPLETELY RUINS YOUR OUTLINE
may it be mostly fun and rarely stressful
may you learn something about yourself
may your writing improve
may you say something that you’ve always been meaning to say
may nothing interrupt you when you need no interruptions and may everything interrupt you on the day you need to be interrupted
may you make yourself laugh
may you make yourself cry
may the end of the month bring a grim smile of self-satisfaction to your face, because you have now defeated even time herself

I hope everyone that is reading this is having a really good day. And if you are not, just know that in every new minute that passes you have an opportunity to change that.

So, it's been awhile since I wrote anything on here but I wanted to let you all know that I'm still alive (pun semi-intended!) and working hard on getting the first two books out to you, and I've got an announcement to make:
After some difficulty, I've officially named book three and I'll be writing it for NaNoWriMo this year. Now, I know you're probably thinking, "Why are you writing the third book when the first two books aren't officially done?" Which is a very good question.
The thing is, I’d rather have three finished skeletons to work on rather than just putting everything off altogether, and as I’ve already mentioned, I’m still working on the first two books. Alive is almost completely done, save for a few minor details, and Awake is coming along slowly, it’s just missing a few scenes at this point. I’m really excited about what’s going on with this series so far, and I can’t wait to share my stories with everyone.
On a related note, I would love to have some writing buddies on NaNoWriMo this year, so if you want to add me, my username is TheAllOutGirl :)
I guess that’s all I’ve got to say for now, but I’ll be back again soon!
Show me your worst. Bare your teeth. Kick, scratch at me. Your claws don’t hurt, they can’t cut that deep. So show me. Tell me about all the people you’ve hurt. Take me on the scenic route, dig up tombstones along the way. Give me the name, the date, the words you said that finally put them in their grave. I know you’ve hurt people. So hurt me. Show me what you look like when you’re angry. Is that why there’s a hole in the wall? Is that what you’re doing when you don’t answer my calls? What about when you’re sad? Or does that just lead to mad? Stop trying to protect me with the lies you tell. Yell. You tell me that I’m sweet. That these things you hide from me aren’t meant to be seen. I can’t handle all the wrong you’ve done. You think I’ll run. Sit down while I say this. Brace yourself. Every person you meet carries around their own little hell. Don’t panic, don’t worry, but this sweet girl you know has her own set of gravestones. So do bad and I’ll do better. Show me your worst, force me to stare in the mirror.

Watching Time
I paralyze myself with thoughts of time,
It’s seven am, my bus comes at nine.
I have so much to do today,
But the hours soon will slip away,
I’ll need to go, and I guess then, I’ll be angry that the hours end.
So instead I sit and watch seconds go by,
It’s seven thirty, and I don’t have enough time.
I won’t eat, I won’t sleep.
The clock, my gaze will keep.
I won’t think, I won’t dream,
My heart is scared to beat,
Every second that passes is a closer second to The Next Event.
I’m paralyzed by thoughts of time,
It was seven thirty, and now it’s nine.
Nothing got done today, as I watched the hours fade to gray.
And tomorrow, I fear it’ll be the same, as my life slowly slips away.
I don’t know why I am this way, but I know I’ve wasted time today, which when I really stop and think, is what I tried to avoid by watching time.
Old Enough
They say I’m old enough to vote,
Old enough to date,
Old enough to graduate,
Old enough to know better.
I’m old enough to move out,
Old enough to make decisions,
Old enough to have a say,
Old enough that I shouldn’t need any more help.
But they turn around and say I’m too young to be so serious,
Too young to be this messed up,
I’m too young to know what’s right from what’s wrong.
REASONS EDITING TAKES ME SO LONG:
1. Analysing every word and picking only the best.
2. Spending so much time facedown on the floor crying.
Situations where you’re allowed to interrupt my reading: 1.
To give me a new book
To put me out if I’m on fire
Meh. Still might want to finish the chapter though.
