What the hell were you even thinking? You told me not to think.
It’s like, it’s not even real to me, it’s like my life isn’t even real to me unless you’re there and you’re in it and I’m sharing it with you.

Title: “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil”
Author: John Berendt
Date Finished: 5 - 15 - 2023
Length: 386 pages
Rating: 5/5
Summary: “Chronicles the experiences of visiting author in Savannah during a sensational murder trial.”
Notes: I love this book so much. So interesting and engaging.
Title: “The Family Beach House”
Author: Holly Chamberlain
Date Finished: 02 - 05 - 2023
Length: 314 pages
Rating: 4/5
Summary: “Larchmere is a splendid, sprawling beach home with breathtaking views of the Atlantic. It's the place where Tilda McQueen O'Connell grew up, and where she and her three siblings - Adam, Hannah, and Craig - have gathered to commemorate the tenth anniversary of their mother's passing. But instead of the bittersweet, relaxing reunion Tilda expected, she finds chaos. Her father's plan to marry again compels each family member to contemplate the beach house's fate. Alone and vulnerable after her husband's death, Tilda hoped to retire to Larchmere one day and hide from the world. Faced with losing that inheritance, Tilda and all the McQueens must reconcile their past, confront their futures - and learn how to love one another even when it means forging a life apart.”
Notes: A cute, low-stakes story with likable and relatable main characters. I really enjoyed how thoughtful this book was without being too intense or somber. I will probably read this author again.
Title: "Tin Men”
Author: Christopher Golden
Date Finished: 12-17-2022
Length: 337 pages
Rating: 3/5
Summary: "A squad of robotic soldiers (and specifically PFC Denny Kelso and Corporal Kate Wade) battle increasingly impossible odds as they attempt to travel from Pakistan to their home base and human bodies in Germany.”
Notes: I thought this book was really interesting and compelling. I always find stories that tackle the future of humankind and technology, and I feel like this book does it well.
Title: “London Bridge is Falling Down”
Author: Christopher Fowler
Date Finished: 12-01-2022
Length: 446 pages
Rating: 0/5
Summary: “The brilliant duo of Arthur Bryant and John May uncovers a nefarious plot behind the seemingly innocuous death of an old lady—and when the case leads them to London Bridge, it all comes down on the Peculiar Crimes Unit.”
Notes: I hated this book. It took forever to read. It was convoluted. The author seemed to want to introduce a new character every other page. It was just too much and too poorly written. I will never read this author again.
Title: A Study in Scarlet
Author: Arthur Conan Doyle
Date Finished: 10-3-2022
Length: 124 pages.
Rating: 4/5
Summary: “After a mysterious murder, an amateur detective and his flat-mate are called to investigate.”
Notes: There is a reason Sherlock Holmes is of the most famous characters in Western Canon. He’s so fascinating and easy to love. The only complain is that the mystery was bit difficult to follow for me.
Title: All Rhodes Lead Here
Author: Mariana Zapata
Date Finished: 9-25-2022
Rating: 3/5
Length: 572 pages
Summary: “Aurora De La Torre knows moving back to a place that was once home isn't going to be easy. Starting your whole life over probably isn't supposed to be. But a small town in the mountains might be the perfect remedy for a broken heart. Checking out her landlord across the driveway just might cure it too.”
Notes: Cute and genuine, but very, very long. This book did not need to be over 500 pages, in my opinion. It dragged horribly, at times.
Title: Where They Found Her
Author: Kimberly McCreight
Genre: Mystery, Thriller, Suspense
Rating: 4/5
Pages: 352 pages
Summary: “When the body of a newborn baby is found on the edge of the prestigious Ridgedale University campus, rookie journalist Molly Sanderson chases the story that will uncover the dark side of life in an upscale New Jersey college town.”
Notes: Very intriguing mystery, hard to put down. Could drag a bit, but otherwise very well done.
Title: Revenge of the Sith
Author: Matthew stover
Genre: Science Fiction
Summary: “As the combat escalates across the galaxy, the stage is set for an explosive endgame: Obi-Wan undertakes a perilous mission to destroy the dreaded Separatist military leader General Grievous. Palpatine, eager to secure even greater control, subtly influences public opinion to turn against the Jedi.”
Rating: 5/5
Length: 418 pages
Notes: Fantastic exploitation of the tragedy of Anakin Skywalker, Padmé and Obi-Wan Kenobi. It’s writing is absolutely beautiful and deeply considers the impact of the story beyond the film.
