Visit to Abu dis

I visited Abu Dis 11 years after I filmed there “Good Times” with Alessandro Cassigoli. I met Yousef El Kathib at the gas station. I asked him how he was and he answered “Good!!!”. 

His house is on the other side of the wall and he is not living there because he will lose his Jerusalem ID. The wall blocking the road that was once the main way to Jericho so not so many clients are passing through the gas station. And still he keeps on being optimistic and positive exactly like in the “Good Times”. 

There are such amazing people in this world and I am so glad I had the chance to meet Yousef.

Jerusalem for Cowards won best feature film in Boddinale festival 2015! 

Boddinale is an independent movie festival dedicated to Berlin based artists. We had a great screening for a wonderful attentive public. It was a great experience and Orit had her Oscars moment to which she is preparing since she is 12.

Living, talking and hanging out with Dalia’s friends in the homes and streets of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, we realized that there are no borders between war and peace, curfews and nights out with friends, beach parties and violence.

In such a context, one develops the unimaginable ability to maintain normality within a war-ridden society. Behind the lines of conflict there is always a mental and physical space to which one retreats, we call this THE BUBBLE.
