From the princess's personal guard to a member of the Straw Hat crew, the step had been short. When Crocodile was defeated, Vivi had literally forced you to join them. She knew how much you loved reading about adventures in books and learning about new places. But everything had always been theoretical. You and Vivi had dreamed of great adventures since you were little girls, but she was attached to the throne and her people, and you were attached to her.
When she disappeared, you managed to find her on Drum Island and joined the group to defend the evil king and help the people. And since then, you had never left the ship.
It had been three weeks since Crocodile was defeated, the same time Miss All Sunday, now called Nico Robin, was on the same ship. The same woman who had slammed you against a wall and threatened to kill you on Drum Island, was sitting in Nami's mandarin garden and reading some books.
The gratitude she had in her eyes when she looked at you clashed with the image of a fatal woman who had anchored you to the wall, holding you by the wrists. You hadn't been the only one to save her; Luffy was there too, but she reserved a less curiousity for him.
So you avoided her. But somehow, she was always no more than a couple of meters away from you. The Going Merry wasn't big and it was starting to get narrow for so many people but... How could she always be around?
You looked at her, wearing a long white shirt and tight black trousers. She had one arm resting on the railing and watching the moving waves of the sea. She was beautiful.
You shook your head and blushed. Shit.
This crush wouldn't have gotten you anywhere.
"You alright?" Sanji handed you a plate with sandwiches containing octopus. You nodded, trying to hide the redness on your cheeks by hiding it with your hand. "We better turn around; there'll be a strong storm soon!" Nami screamed, warning everyone.
But a large wave abruptly caused the ship to waver. The ship reared up, sending you sliding on the ground. Sanji didn't have time to grab you that he slipped too. The plate broke into a thousand pieces.
Only at that moment, with your back on the ground, you noticed the black clouds and threatening flashes that occupied the sky. "Damn."
You tried to get up, but another blow brought you back, causing you to crash into the stairs. The rain began to fall violently, wetting the wooden floor. You tried to get up again, you had to reach the sails and give the boys a hand. But the wood was too slippery now and another violent wave made you stumble. A pair of arms caught you at the hips. You raised your head: Nico Robin's blue eyes met yours.
The woman's right foot slipped, and your bodies, clinging to each other, ended up on the floor. Your back impacted for the second time. "Ouch."
When you opened your eyes, she was on you, one hand clasped to the collar of your black jacket and the other near your head. "S-Sorry!"
Your mouth opened but the words stuck in your throat. Only the screams of others made you stir up. The ship moved again nearly 50° and your bodies began to slide toward the stern. The first thought was to grab the sword, but you couldn't reach it because of the woman's body. Besides, Usopp wouldn't have been happy to have a crack in the ship. Nico Robin summoned her power, and a series of arms and hands lifted you up and slammed you both against the railing.
Another hard blow to your back.
The arms held you firmly, the warm of her body against yours.
And suddenly, it was all over.
The sun returned.
