Summary: Going to a party with no expectations and leaving with a heart full of them...
A/N.: I missed writing and I kind of want to share what I do so yhea... This was a lightning idea so it might not be the best. Anyways, hope you enjoy!!
Fridays are meant to have fun and laugh along with your friends. And that was exactly what Y/N was doing. Her friends though she was way too focused on school and was not enjoying her college life the way she should...
Her friends always told her she was really pretty, which was true, but she didn’t think so. Always doubting herself and how she looked... Suffering bullying when she was younger was no help.
But, college was supposed to be a new star, new experiences, new friends, new everything...
Tonight she decided to do something different, it was college and if she wanted to change her old ways she would have to star somewhere. So instead of her baggy shirts and jeans, she decided to be a little more confident and try a dress. It was a party where a lot of people would be, and she wanted to make a good impression.
Amy: C’mon Y/N, we’re gonna be late.
Y/N: It’s a party, aren’t we suppose to arrive anytime?
Rose: With that attitude, you’re not going to find a boyfriend, my dear.
They laughed, after all, Y/N always had an answer for everything.
Y/N: Well, my friends, maybe I don’t want one.
Rose: Yeah yeah, we know.
Amy: Now get your ass down here and hurry up.
When she got down, her friends were speechless... They never saw her so fancy before, but they were all for it.
Rose: About that boyfriend thing, dressing like that, you are definitely finding one tonight.
Amy: Agree. You are killing that dress.
Y/N: Yeah yeah. Beside you, I’m underdressed. You guys look amazing. Now, weren’t we late?
When they arrived, all eyes were on them. Specially Y/N. She didn’t know how to deal with all the attention, but she tried her best not to get anxious. Her friends went to meet their boyfriends and she went to the bar. More specifically, the kitchen, since it was a house party, from some frat or something like that.
She stood there for a while, her friends were having a lot of fun with their boys and she didn’t want to fourth wheel so she drank a bit and went to the dance floor. She didn’t have a problem dancing by herself since a lot of people were doing the same, and after all, she was there to have fun!!
She felt a pair of eyes on her, but didn’t mind, it was probably one of her friends watching her enjoying herself, it was not something she would do often.
When she grew a little tired she went to grab a drink and decided to go outside, seating at some chairs by the pool. There were only a few people outside so it was really quiet. She was feeling a little too drunk so the cool air was helping a lot. Suddenly she felt movement beside her and opened an eye to try and see who could be, but she didn’t recognise the person. She opened both eyes and looked at the stranger beside her.
He looked really cute. Brown curly hair. Brown eyes. A funny eyebrow. She noticed a cute curl that hung on his forehead and wanted to put it aside, but stoped herself, because she didn’t knew him and it would be kind of awkward.
He noticed how pretty she was. How her eyes glowed with the moon light. How her hair was flowing with the light wind. They locked eyes and suddenly the remaining sound of the party stoped.
Y/N was never one to believe at love at first sight and all those moments where you feel you found the one. She never believed the time could stop when you looked at someone. But right on that moment, she felt it all.
Boy: I’m sorry to interrupt. You looked very peaceful, but every chair was occupied. I’m really sorry, I can go.
Y/N: No, it’s ok. I was just resting.
Boy: You should, those dance moves must have tired you.
She noticed he had some accent. Maybe he was not from around there. But right now she only thought about how he was the one watching her.
Boy: I’m sorry, that sound creepy. But you sees dancing and caught my eye. Then I told my friend and he said I should make a move, but I’m way too shy. And then you came outside and I thought, why not? And there where a lot of empty chairs... but... omg now I sound like a creep. Am I talking too much? I’m sorry I’m nervous...
She quickly put her hand over her mouth and widened her eyes. The alcohol was taking over her words. But on the other hand, she really felt it. The boy was as shocked as her. But he also didn’t mind.
Boy: Wh... Well, hmm, Thanks, I guess. You’re very cute too.
Blushing hard, they exchanged a shy smile. The conversation flew by smoothly and they didn’t notice the time pass. The alcohol was losing his effect and the conversation got deeper and meaningful. They really got to know each other very well. But Y/N was still a little drunk, and maybe she would not remember this very well, or at all. Her friends went outside and said they were leaving and she accepted the drive. He saw her leave and thought it had to be now.
Boy: I’m sorry, can I have your number? I would really like to grab coffee sometime?!
She gladly gave him her number and before she left she turned around and simply said...
*skip to a few days later*
Y/N didn’t remember the whole night, but she was sure she met someone, but she hadn’t his number, she remembered giving him hers, but not the opposite. She remembered his face, how could she forget, actually.
But today she felt confident and maybe something would happen. And she was right... while getting ready for bed, she got a text from a strange number. It said it was from the boy from the party, Tom. She got really excited. They started talking everyday.
First semester was over and she had a two week break so she decided to take a part time job to save some money.
When second semester came, she went to her first class and took a seat. Waited for the rest of the students to get in and start the class. A good 30 minutes later, the door opens and a boy enters. When she looked up from her notes she saw the boy from the party. Their eyes met and he noticed the empty sit beside her. Apologising to the teacher he went to sit down.
Tom smiled a little embarrassed and the class went on. When it finally ended...
Y/N: Wow, you’re all in aren’t you?
Tom: I’m sorry, it’s just that I’ve been thinking about it and...
Y/N: Don’t think a date will conquer my heart, you have to keep fighting.
Tom: I don’t mind, it’s worth the fight.
But the truth was, he didn’t have to fight a lot, because even though Y/N didn’t believe in love at first sight, it was undeniable that they... were meant to be!
