Mental Health Awareness Week from October 5-11

Even mermaids can have a mental illness, for a mermaid has no tears and therefore suffers so much more.

I’m that one person out of every five who has an invisible illness. I’m a suicide survivor. These are two reasons why I chose to per-sue Counseling Psychology in college. It’s also why I wanted to become a mermaid; not just to make myself happy, but to make others happy as well. Help raise awareness for mental illness by sharing this post.

What to do When you Feel Negative

1. Be honest with yourself, and accept how you feel. You can’t work with your feelings if you deny that they are real.

2. At the same time, don’t keep going over the negative events, or they’ll start to dominate you, or spiral, and get worse.

3. Don’t react right away – take a breath and count to 10. Make sure you keep control and don’t do something you’ll regret.

4. Try to notice what are triggers and provoke negative feelings – and when you’re calm, try to think through how to cope and deal with these.

5. Think of things that you can do to try and help improve your mood … such as going for a jog, or talking with a caring friend.

6. Remind yourself that you are valuable, and have a lot to offer … and think of all your strengths, and all the good things you have done.

7. Choose just to let go of the past, and try to focus on the present. Don’t let it stop you living, and having a great life.

the beginning of my love for cyberpunk is being 16 and having everyone at my school carry around the same cracked copy of Halo CE on USB sticks and reinstall it daily after class on the library computers which wiped after every shutdown. there was basically a nonstop LAN party in there daily that was illegal on every level

When I was in high school my friend had an .exe file of Minecraft that you could play for free with no account so we gave it to as many friends as possible and made a server and played it in a tiny window in the corner of the screen during business class

When i was in high school, i got a huge box of 1gb thumb drives from a yard sale for dirt cheap (they were extremely janky and almost definitely counterfeit)

Naturally, my response was to load them up with pre-patched .exes of several touhou games and distributed them to friends so we could all compete for high scores during composition class

This gained the attention of other classmates who wanted in on the action, so I ended up giving away the thumb drives for like 25 cents a pop, inadvertently turning me into the kingpin of an illicit touhou league/bootleg usb stick ring
