I feel like the biome dome should end right at the edge of Grace's bedroom. You cannot tell me rocky watched grace sleep for years waiting for him to wake up, and then was like "yeah sure, here's you're private house where you'll sleep alone".

My rock baby would go fucking mental until Adrian caved and went "here's our new house, half eridian, half Dome, our bedrooms are adjacent so you can sleep with your head right next to grace"

Ohhh my god Grace was not expendable. He was not a sacrifice. He was not a lamb. Grace was the only person who could possibly have done the work and science that needed to be done and his death was the outcome, not the intention. This was not throwing a virgin into a volcano, this was sending the only person qualified on a mission that would eventually lead to his death. He was the exact opposite of expendable. If he had died en-route so would all of humanity. Trillions of dollars and years of work went into ensuring the crew's safety and relative comfort because they were going to be WORKING. Clasps my hands together and sits very still.

I think people forget that Stratt amnesticized Grace with the goal that Ilyukina and Yao would be there to help him, y’know NOT DIE, and then THEY DIED before he woke up.

So like she gets the recordings and realizes Yao and Ilyukina are dead before he wakes up so he’s got no pilot, no engineer, and no memories.

And then you also have to remember that the EXISTENCE of these recordings and the fact they were accompanied by the Taumoeba means that an amnesticized Grace somehow managed to save earth without a pilot or engineer and shoddy memory that only vaguely gives him enough to work with as he works.

Like what the fuck man.

The thing I love about Stratt is how many other characters in the “I know history won’t look on me kindly”/ “I’m just doing what I have to do” trope indulge their power or violence fantasies. Theyre loud about the their motivations, they belittle everyone else, they claim their cruelty is logical, they act like a bully. They expect everyone they’ve hurt to applaud them for “doing the right thing” and lash out when they don’t. A weak person at their core, clawing for power.

Stratt is so quiet in her power. So resigned. She doesn’t cut corners where the mission is concerned. She’s not enjoying this. She doesn’t need to scream to be heard. Whether or not she regrets her actions is beside the point. Just ugh Stratt the woman you are.

more than anything i'm just glad everyone agrees eva stratt is an infinitely interesting character. usually a character like that either gets demonized or flattened to their big moments, but everywhere i look i see her face and it's always accompanied by a wall of relatively profound character analysis. good job everyone.
