Jay nods his head, eyes now glued on the window in front of him. “All of us. Edward is telling Bella as we speak.” He pauses, a lump beginning to form in his throat as he looks back at Emmie. Just the look on her face is enough to make his heart break. “No, no you can’t. But you’ve got to understand, this is for the best. I’m leaving for you, you have to understand that. Or at least try to.” He brings a hand up to her face, gently caressing her cheek as he smiles sadly. “I have to. Like I said, it’s for the best.”
