Has a baleen whale ever been kept in captivity for any length of time? If so was it successfully released or did it die?
there have been several instances of young baleen whales running afoul of something and being captured for rehabilitation, yes! they were mostly gray whales.
which makes sense, gray whales are slow enough to get caught in the first place and hardy enough to not immediately stress themselves to death over being poked and put in a tank (as long as hundreds of pounds of delicious shellfish are on offer, anyway)
none of them were ever kept very long, they were rehabilitated to a healthy weight and then released. (healthy weight for a juvenile gray whale is almost 20,000 lbs. BIG baby)
haircuts matching face shapes is a lie it's not real. it's made up
"i can't have short hair it won't look good with my face shape :(" yes you can and yes it will. that's not real
Okay, so the whole thing on cuts for face shapes is that "looking good on you" is synonymous with "make your face appear to be an oval shape." I mean this genuinely, as a cosmetologist, that is what we are taught in school. Minimise any outstanding features, make any other face shape appear ovular and give it a straight profile. Make it look "white." It literally stems from racism and white supremacy and it is absolute bullshit.
You look good in whatever you feel confident. You with your big nose, with your prominent chin. You with your narrow eyes, and thin lips. You who do not fit the white, western beauty standard. Your face is beautiful just the way it is, I promise. Do your hair however the fuck you like.
got thoughtful about opinions on bad books so here’s an inverse: what’s a book you had to read for school that you actually enjoyed/have grown to like? mine is Lord of the Flies

there's a really funny 3d printing controversy going on btw.
if you don't know, there's a very popular 3d printing model out there called "benchy". this is used for benchmarking your 3d printer because it's a difficult print and will help test it out.
this is so widely used that people make their own little versions of it, remixing the 3d model to make benchy look cooler and stuff. however, a new company owns the benchy license. they are sending copyright takedowns to all those who wrongfully uploaded the benchy model.
of course, this is pissing off the 3d printing community greatly. everyone loved benchy and have used it for years. so someone on reddit decided to make a new model that is designed as a 3d printing stress test. one that works a lot like benchy, and people are freely able to edit it as they please. you know what they called it?
boaty.
