The Jedi totally would have had their own language. They are a somewhat insular community that has existed for 25,000 years. Yes, they're taught Basic and a bunch of other languages, but in the Temple? They've got their own linguistic thing going on.
I love how you can create an OC that looks like anything you want too, can use any weapon available, can use powers, ANYTHING. And it somehow works as a Star Wars OC.
I still stand by this and I always forget it applies
I'm working on my set of Mando armor and I want to add Trophies. So far I have a few ideas but I wanna hear y'all's. I got a lightsaber hilt, kyber crystal, random bit and pieces, beads, braids, etc...
My helmet is like 99% done. I gotta do the visor and then it'll be completed!
Back to my made up Mandalorian goddesses I imagine that more religious Mandalorian would string together multi-colored beads onto a bracelet, necklace or make something like a rosary. Each bead represents an ancestor, someone lost or someone very important to the person.
Thereād also be a pendant of a chosen goddess (Lor, Asp, Egret, Vala, Concordia, Draboon, Orda) , powerful ancestor or mythical hero.
I have yet to find gods goddesses or a creation myth for the mandalorians thatās canon though ive gone through wookiepedia and the Mandoāa dictionary so Iāve made up seven goddesses.
So this is my Mandalorian helmet so far! I'm so excited to work on it!! Rn it's just cardboard and paper mache.
What do we think the Mandos eat fruits and veggies wise? Do they just pick whatever's around that they know is safe? Or do they travel with them? I know fruit leather is probably a staple, but like in talking about Actual Fruit and Veggies. What do we think?
The things that make a society great, to me, as a philosopher and someone who studies the sith and jedi code, as well as mandalorian philosophy.
Strength to protect others and keep stability and freedom
Passion to fuel you through life, and to find what you enjoy.
Honor, because without honor one has no soul. Honor is what keeps the fire of your soul raging.
Love, for without love (platonic or romantic) one has nothing to fight for and no one to turn to.
whimsy, for joy is the bread of life, to never experience joy is to have never lived, in my experience.
And freedom. Because without freedom, none of these things will ever be found.
This is a shortened version of the philosophy that guides me, I would love to explain it more!
Also I would like to hear your response to my philosophy. Even if its just this very compressed version lol.
Stay free, stay fun!
Does anyone have any free resources that are good for learning mando'a? Like I wanna speak it. Or at least read and write in it.
FUCK why wasn't I born a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away???!?!?!?!! I should've been the next Mandalorian Jedi
Breakfast Mealgrain: Mandalorian Style
Boiled mealgrain:
For one serving:
-1/2 cup old fashioned or rolled oats
-1/4 cup cooked red lentils
-1/2 cup milk
-1/2 cup water
-Applesauce or fried apples for mixing in
-Dark brown sugar, to taste
-Cinnamon + garam masala
-Ginger
-Salt
Bring the milk, water, salt, and lentils to a simmer, and then mix in the oats. Blend the spices with the brown sugar first, then add in. If using applesauce, mix in the desired amount here. If using fried or cooked apples, save those for the end.
Simmer until thickened to desired consistency.
Fried mealgrain:
-1 cup cooked farro, spelt, or other wheat grains
-1 or 2 eggs
-Fatty bacon, minced
-Thinly sliced red onion
-Scallions
-Garlic, crushed
-Ginger, finely minced
-Spice powder blend (can be any you like, from chiles you enjoy to any blend of peppercorns)
-Crunchy roasted lentils, for topping
Start by frying up the bacon, getting some fat rendered out into your pan. Throw in the ginger, garlic, onions, and scallions, getting them cooked through while your bacon crisps. Then add the grains, keeping the heat high to fry as you would rice.
When the grains are reaching the texture you'll like, add the spice powder and blend in well. Then clear a spot in the center and crack in your eggs, scrambling them and mixing them into the grains once they start to lose their glossiness.
Serve hot, topped with the roasted lentils. An extra fried egg can be laid on top for serving.

My additions:
In my personal cookbook, I'm adding foods that draw inspiration from ancient Greece, Sardinia, some Nordic cultures, and a scattering of Mediterranean and Baltic cuisines. Since Mandalorian cultures are widespread and extremely heterogenous, different clans and houses will logically all have their own food traditions. My cookbook will include the following extra staples:
Whole wheat (farro and spelt) as mealgrain additions
Brassicas such as kohlrabi and cabbage
Berries such as blueberries and cherries
Semolina in lieu of cornmeal
Adzuki beans for sweet fillings
Ricotta, cottage cheese, and other fresh cheeses
Any further ingredients that I find interesting and appropriate to my developing food philosophy for this cookbook.
Any arguments? Disagree? Make your own cookbook :)
