     “A-ahh— y-yeah, I don’t-a like Halloween so much, Sonic. I get-a pranked a lot.”

   Of course that wasn’t the whole of it. A holiday themed around the paranormal made him uneasy. He dealt with more than enough of that at the mansions. All of the ghosts and Boos residing in the Mushroom Kingdom relished in coming out in their hundreds to spook people around Halloween.

     “I thought I j-just would stay in where it’s safe.”

Well that didn’t sound like much fun. Wasn’t the whole fun of Halloween that everyone got to goof around together? Everyone just playing a bunch of pranks on one person sounded a lot less exciting. And a lot more unfair. Sonic didn’t want to say that the justice senses were tingling, but... the justice senses were definitely tingling.

Rattling on the jail cell bars, DK tried his best to catch the attention of whichever person happened to wander on by. He was in a bit of a bind and it appeared that Diddy nor the other Kongs were going to come to his aid anytime soon.

Honestly, Sonic had pretty much gotten to the stage where he didn’t care where he ended up - so long as it was somewhere awesome. Sure, some people would say that using Chaos Emeralds to warp between planets, dimensions - heck, even universes - would be a reckless and irresponsible thing to do. Sonic preferred to call it... innovative and cultural. And it definitely made for some interesting surprises once he did figure out what dimension he was in. Now being a pretty good example. 

        ❝Well hey hey, DK! Been kinda a while, huh?❞ he chuckled, folding his hands behind his head as he cast his mind back to the last Brawl Tournament and finding himself grinning - he’d had some pretty sweet wins that year.

        ❝Oh! Right, yeah, I got your back, dude,❞ the hedgehog affirmed on remembering the ape’s predicament, shooting him a confident thumbs-up. ❝Sooooo, uh. Guessin’ you didn’t see where they put the key, huh?❞

He already felt irritation at the azure blurs presence. What did he want now? It was never ending. Couldn’t he have pure and complete solitude for once in his existence? No. Proabably not.

“What do you want now Faker? Hopefully not a waste of time or space. Make it quick.”

Crimson eyes narrowed at the others bright green ones. He honestly didn’t feel like dealing with Sonic’s ignorance and over all stupidity.

He sighed, perhaps excessively loudly, in that annoying ‘oh what a lovely morning’ sort of a way and idly stretched out his arms, grinning all the while.
