Alaric stopped moving closer to her when he felt like he was close enough. Which meant he was close enough to smell her scent that over filled him and touch her if he wanted to do so. Sometimes he didn’t give a shit about the rules especially like right now. Not when all Alaric really wanted to do was reach out and touch her. Fuck. He loved her. He couldn’t deny that. He loved her more than his own life. Times like this he wish that he knew what she was feeling. And it was hard for him not to know. Which was why he wanted to see her to begin with. He was done with this little guessing game. Alaric had to know.
Nodding his head slowly, he gave the best small smile that he could. “It really is. Sometimes I just run while it’s nights like this.” He admitted.
It was hard to be around her and not touch her in some way. Sometimes he hated this life of theirs. All of this would be easier if both were human.
Neither of them would have to fight this or fight this hard.
When she offered him a sit, he moved over to the bench and sat next to her. As close as he could possible get. His knee brushing against hers. “Sorry.” He spoke with a small smile, acting as if it was an accident. “So Ms. Angelova, the floor is all yours. What was that meeting about?” He questioned, raising a brow slightly. Honestly he didn’t care about it because they were getting time together right now.

It wasn’t as if she could even tell him and then compel him to forget. A werewolf was immune to vampiric abilities such as that. Instead, Katerina was doomed to have her emotions magnified and suffer silently. She was unable to open up to anyone about it, lest it get out to the wrong person and have him killed. Even if he felt the same, it was doomed. Katerina had to be the one to be strong.
Even if everything in her screamed to act.
The simple act of his leg bumping hers had every muscle in her body tensing and she drew away. Her hand brushed his knee in an attempt to shield herself with the padding of her skirts. The only exception to a woman in her position being alone with a man was her immortality. “I believe Gospodin Black and I established something of a rapport on tightening boundaries. There have been whispers of rogue wolves near the territory. The last thing we all need is an attack.” Keeping her tone light was nearly impossible. Had she been human, her tone would waver. “It’s mainly been spotted on your side and the security concern is there.”
