((by the way, if you've ever wanted to thread with a large bug now would be the time to ask! I don't think I can write starters with the current state of my muse, moreso need the motivation boost from them, but drop something into my ask if you're interested? or just tag me in a starter or w/e if you want, I'm fine with anything mostly))
“Anyone can boast of powers if they have an excuse not to show them.” If this Kaz’tik was bluffing, Wrathion would soon find out. If he was not… then these powers truly would me admirable… and fearsome
“I don’t see how letting someone inside my innermost thoughts would be an activity I would ever wish to experience, if I am being honest.”
The little...
"If you are done borrowing my own words, shall I point out that the same idea can be applied to your supposed fire breathing abilities? You could be capable of no more than mere puffs of smoke, even at your full potential."
It was understood that both of their powers were inhibited by this point, or so Kaz'tik hoped. He really didn't want to have to go through trying to explain such a painfully obvious fact.
"And it is not, nor would you have the luxury of 'letting' me in. Few of the lesser creatures can resist such an intrusion."
Leave a mysterious note or object in my ask box and see what my muse does.

Still caught at the fine junction between horror and amazement, Rui lets him step closer, if only because he has no real power to prevent him. However, he pulls his tablet a little closer, politely taking a little step back.
"They’re devices made for the immediate transfer of data, I suppose I can say? Vast amounts of information can be stored and accessed. You can even create ‘programs’ to perform specific tasks, like number calculations or finding a definition to a word…"
Rui glances down at the screen.
"This tablet houses a friend of mine, so you’ll have to excuse my caution."
"I see. Would there be a 'program' to clean up kunchong droppings, by any chance?" Kaz'tik let out a chittering laugh, antennae bouncing with the sound, as they do. He found what this could do an interesting concept, yes, but it happened to sound like a replacement for intellect. Not that he would say such out loud, he had no interest in offending so soon.
The mantid didn't draw closer again when the other stepped back, but merely eyed the tablet from where he stood. "Houses a friend of yours? This tablet is capable of holding souls, as well?"
The mogu were notorious for that sort of thing, but perhaps some humans had figured it out too?
Wrathion’s face twisted more into a look of absolute shock and horror. Did this creature not see his greatness? And even when he knew a few of hi champions had helped the mantids…
“Then if you can’t handle that, O Mantid, Wrathion will be just fine.” He pushed out the last word as if it were a curse, huffing over the indignation.
Even so… He squinted at the manitd, ah Kaz’tik, and tilted his head curiously.
“What are your ‘powers of manipulation’ then?”
…As irritated as he had been, Kaz’tik couldn’t help but note how this Wrathion managed to be so amusing. It was intriguing, really, how worked up he got over such little things.
"My abilities are such that if I were to merely whisper a few sonic words into your ears, you would give your life for me without so much as questioning it. I could walk you right into a kunchong’s waiting maw, if I so wished."
No need to mention that it didn’t exactly work on everyone.
"Of course, it can also be utilized for more mundane means, such as communication. Have you ever had the… aheh, ‘pleasure’ of someone letting themself into your mind before?"
Rankup: Nobody -> Citizen
Honestly, Kaz'tik hadn't even realized when the one month anniversary of his abduction had rolled around. So, when he returned to his tiny little shack, he was surprised to be greeted with bits of cardboard, and paper, and all that stuff you'd find in a package all. Over. The floor. Kovok was sleeping in the middle of it, laying atop the very grandest of prizes: a shiny new phone. His phone. It was promptly pulled out from under the little kunchong, nearly dropped, and caught again (no one said carapaces had good gripping potential). Kaz'tik set about messing with it soon enough, eager to figure out this piece of technology. It was said to be quite useful, after all.
For the purpose of character-building, feel free to send an ask regarding anything you would like to know about my character.
If there was anyone who would take it as insult to hear they wouldn’t taste good upon being eaten, it would be Wrathion. Still, he pushes down the offence (no need to get into a scuffle again, that wooden staff hurt). His nose wrinkled in an expression of disgust at hearing the mantid’s food history.
However, the lowered staff was a good sign. Despite it all, Wrathion tended to like diplomacy over violence.
”Your curiosity is excused,” Wrathion snorted, putting a hand on his hip.
"And my name, mantid, is Wrathion, the Black Prince, Son of Deathwing, and the last of Black Dragons.” Yes, saying the entire thing was totally necessary, and he would immolate anyone who said any different.
Kaz'tik couldn't be bothered to respond to that disgusted look, but that name. It was... unnecessarily complicated. He looked unimpressed. "Hmph, that is what passes for a name now? In my time, names made much more sense. As much sense as lesser creatures' names can make, in any case."
As for his own name? He thought it was quite nice. "You may call me Kaz'tik, the Manipulator. The title is... more relevant while not under the effect of this accursed place."
His mandibles clacked loudly in annoyance at the removal of his magic. He wished he could get around it somehow, but figuring that out from the information available (not a lot) wasn't exactly within his abilities. If only the Lucid were here, then perhaps...
…If Rui had a more delicate personality, he’d have screamed, honestly.
A giant talking praying mantis. It was both fascinating and terrifying—Rui lifted his shoulders, awed, a word caught halfway out of his mouth before he hurriedly completed the sentence.
"What—I, I mean—this would be a tablet. It can be considered something like a portable computer, to put it as simply as possible." Did this creature even know what a computer was? Rui offered a sheepish grin, his usual confidence thrown off by the unusual sight—even being disguised as LOAD couldn’t mend the issue.
"I can…explain more, if needed."
A computer? Kaz'tik leaned in to look closer, not giving much thought as to why he really shouldn't be. At his size, well, he was probably already intimidating enough without getting in people's personal space. His long, twitching antennae also flipped forwards, nearly brushing against the other.
"By all means, please do. I'm afraid I am not too familiar with these sort of devices."
The hand that had previously been on a shoulder now moved towards the tablet, fingers stretching as if to grab it. Someone was letting his curiosity get the best of him, it seemed...

In his time in the city, the Manipulator had definitely picked up on a fairly obvious fact: this place was far more advanced than what he was used to. Back in his world, the most common technology was what could be described by others as primitive. There were guns, vehicles, even robots, yes, but nothing so refined. Nothing here seemed to have the tendency to explode at the very least, and that was impressive in itself.
Thus, it was unavoidable that he eventually become curious. This sort of technology... whatever it was, wasn't ever exactly his specialty, but it was nevertheless intriguing.
So when his compound eyes caught sight of someone holding a small, flat device, he wasted no time in stepping over. A clawed hand was placed on the human's shoulder to grab his attention. "You. What is that thing you are holding? What does it do?"
