my poor friend mel only finding out there were historical reenactors in the ER after they were already gone...as if her day could get any worse...and no one's matching her enthusiasm...now if only there were someone else in this hospital maybe even this very ER who also loves historical reenactment...

don't know it this was intentional but i do love the contrast of how most of the kingdon scenes in s1 are from 1x01 to 1x09 and then we have some crumbs

and that can represent the start of this mentor x mentee relationship that could end up as friends but ends on pause for ten months

in s2 we start strong but end up in the crumb scenario for several episodes and then it's just banger after banger until the finale and to me that represents the shifting towards a real friendship that will be established in s3

from the start (the two days they know each other) he knows this won't work with her and changes his approach immediately without her needing to mention (like whitaker)
