I love living on my own. I swear, I am becoming a better version of myself:

I actually started exercising which caused me to lose 10 pounds in the past few months.

My room is always effortlessly clean (which was not at all the case when I lived with my parents)

I have cooked and baked a lot of really delicious things because I have full control of what food I have.

I get myself up early enough to make a really healthy breakfast every day. I used to never eat breakfast. 

In general, I’ve been eating really healthy.

Now I just need to continue getting better at the whole grad school thing and research pass my prelims (I am terrified)!!

This semester of grad school is weird because I finally feel like I’m caught up to everyone else this semester, which feels really fucking good but at the same time the possibility of getting kicked out at the end of May if I don’t do really well on this exam I’m taking in January is looming over me and that’s fucking stressful because I love being in grad school for math and really want to start doing research

This is a huge misconception for regular Americans. When the government uses the phrase “undocumented” they’re using it incorrectly because if they were truly undocumented then they would’ve be in system. However these immigrants are in the system and they pay taxes, file tax returns and get no benefits that citizens and legal residents get. They also get to see ICE showing up at their doors because the government has their addresses. “Undocumented” just means “without papers,” i.e. a social security card, valid visa, etc. They’re still on databases and whatnot, they just don’t have the documentation that allows them to reap the benefits.
