This was someone she knew. Amaterasu gave a friendly bark, wagging her tail.
"Oki, it's been a while, hasn't it? I didn't expect to see you here as well." She didn't speak often, but without Issun she had no other choice.

He could have gone on and on for another ten minutes or so about the parentage issue, as well as explain the family tree of dogs, wolves and their possible cousins the chupacabras (Not that he was worried about getting his blood sucked, he looked nothing like a goat and that’s probably the only good thing his running gorilla gag has offered) but thankfully he ceased once it looked like she wasn’t interested.
“Ah well tell you something you don’t know, right? I’m sure they were lovely peo- er, canines and set a good example for you! Anyway, good good Jimmy isn’t trapped in the mill that’s ruled out since it isn’t the weekend and his stash is safe…let’s see…” Thick fingers rubbed his chin in thought, “You don’t look very hungry- NOT TO SAY YOU’RE FAT OR ANYTHING, YOU HAVE A VERY LOVELY FIGURE, LEAN AND QUITE FIT FOR THAT POLKA DOTTED SWIMSUIT FOR THE SUMMER I just mean you seem very healthy,” Kondo moved on with moderate to not so severe flails of his hands and all, gazing at the creature in question, deciding charades with a canine probably wasn’t going to solve anything. Lack of thumbs and all.
After a moment he shrugged and chuckled dismissively, “Welp I suppose that doesn’t really matter right now, eh? We’ll figure it out together if you’d like. For now though, would you like to move on? You and I could find a way around together. No worries, I won’t slow you down, I was on the track team once!” On the bench but details, shmetails. Holding out a his hand, palm up towards Amaterasu, he waited to see if she would put her trust in him.
Amaterasu just stared. This male was quite the extravagant one, she was more amused than anything by him. Ancient Nippon had its fair share of odd individuals, but this guy would certainly stick in her immortal mind for centuries to come.
She wasn't able to focus on long conversations, and she found her thoughts drifting. If things continued, she'd be about to fall asleep mid-chat, as she always did, when things exceeded her rather short attention span. Such an odd attribute for a Goddess.
The question snapped her out of her thoughts.
Go with him? A good idea. She recalled where his hands had been, but she gingerly placed one white paw in his hand, wagging her tail and barking once more.

Now Kondo was no science expert, biologic expert, animal expert (no the Gorilla jokes don’t count, a banana can only stretch so far) or…an expert at anything other than running headlong into the fray to open a can of whoop justice really, but the more he gazed at this stunning creature the more he was convinced the lovely beast wasn’t just some mangy mongrel but….
“My, your parents must have been quite the pair! Mama wolf must have really relentlessly chased your papa and…well….” Kondo’s cheeks- …the ones on his face, don’t look down there, please- had the audacity to turn pink as he smiled warmly. “She must have had a fine, determined spirit! Much like her. Ahhh, springtime loving, it’s really such a sweet and natural thing, isn’t it?”
The majestic creature’s whining and movements caught his attention and he chuckled nervously, reminded of the task at butt- er, hand.
“Well young Poochi you’re going to have to wait a second before I can help either of us get back,” He shifted and reached for the leaf again before scrambling to his feet with all the dignity that hadn’t been leached off him since the day he was born. ”L-looking isn’t very,” casual glance to figure out- “lady-like, now!”
On to business. “Dear God please don’t let this one be an itchy one this time….” Be grateful that, once he finished, located his pants in a bush and hiked ‘em back on that he didn’t return to the canine with the intent to pet her. Yet.
Kondo was all smiles now as he clapped his hands and addressed the canine Goddess who had the courage NOT to go darting off after seeing such an embarrassing display. ”Now! What can I do for you, little lady?”
Parents? Hmm, interesting comment. Amaterasu wagged her tail slowly. She didn't think she had parents, being a Goddess and all, she was the mother Goddess. She had children, but she was not a child herself.
The more she observed this strange male, the more oddly intrigued she was. A fine, friendly fellow, sure. Perhaps a bit crass, but that wasn't the worst a person could be.
At his comment about looking, she turned her head and stared to the right. This was still a very strange situation...Quite the first impression this young man was making on her.
It was fortunate he missed that poison ivy. That would have been bad luck for him, indeed.
She looked back at him as he asked her the question, and she could only tilt her head with a questioning whine. He didn't seem to see her shield and such, so no speech for her. The voice of the Gods wouldn't reach him.

Regular hunting trips or even merely dicking around in the more nature oriented parts of Arcadios were activities Kondo had started to enjoy a lot more the longer he remained here. You can take the country boy out of the country but you can’t take the country out of the country gorilla and a forest as wide as the eye could see and such sorta counted as country, right? Right.
One thing this country boy hadn’t retained from his city or country days was a cast iron stomach or a decently controlled colon- thus after a few hours of walking and the consumption of what he FIGURED were A-okay berries to eat (they weren’t glowing, didn’t smell bad, and didn’t talk so that made sense!!!1) Kondo felt nature’s call rolling like a storm in the pit of his stomach, threatening to tear his formidable steel like anus asunder.
To spare you the deets Kondo was forced to chant some sutras, count to one hundred and twenty five AND have an out of body experience for the duration of his…little death and finally FINALLY-
“I HAVE BEEN CLEANSED! PRAISE HIM! I’LL NEVER EAT BERRIES WITH DARK AURAS AGAIN! I’ll try mushrooms next time, those glowing ones from the cave that time were pretty good. I wonder if those will make my piss glow again, that was kinda fun…”
He shifted, twigs and leaves beneath his feet crunching under his weight, and just as he reached for a decently sized leaf for his hairy behind a sharp, pleasing bark broke him out of his concentration. Yelping, Kondo fell onto his bare ass, dirt and god knows what else joining them asscheeks, the tranquil blue sky above meeting his line of vision. He took a moment of silence for his dignity and the slightly itchy leaf he had in his grasp then glanced at the one responsible for this travesty.
A huge ass dog met his gaze. It seemed friendly enough and unless it was some kind of predator that would transform into a horrendous alien dog, probably wasn’t looking for a meal. Discreet is nowhere in Kondo’s vocabulary nor is POTENTIAL HUMANOID CREATURES so he ignores his present state and grins over at the creature. “Heeeey Poochi! What are you doing in a place like this? Is Johnny stuck at the ol’ mill? He’s such a naughty child, but he just needs a little TLC and maybe a girlfriend.”
Amaterasu stared. She was a rather dignified wolf Goddess when she deigned to be, and she had no idea what to make of this person so far. She swiveled her ears, tilted her head, watching him with an obviously curious expression.
She wrinkled her nose a little, taking a step back, but she wagged her tail anyway.
Someone who saw her as a dog wouldn't hear her voice. Oh boy. She whined slightly, her ink black eyes flickering from his face to where he was sitting.

“I’m not certain how I arrived here myself.”
[The voice of the goddess reached Kurow’s mind. ‘Looks like she got here just like how everyone else did…’]
“Oh well, there’s nothing we could do to return to Nippon, or so that’s what I think.” [He paused and remembered something. If Amaterasu was the great sun goddess, where was that little Poncle friend of hers?]
“This is really bad. I don’t see the little envoy around here. I mean, you need people to believe in you as a god in order to gain power, right? Who exactly is going to do that while he’s away?” [Kurow looked at the wolf with a worried expression.]
"Issun is here," Amaterasu said with perfect certainty, nodding a little to herself. "Nevertheless, you're right. It worries me that at the present we seem unable to return home..."
"But we must make the best of the situation as we can." Staying depressed all the time would accomplish not a single thing, and the Sun Goddess wouldn't allow it. "Currently I feel no different in terms of power, though this may only be temporary..."
A dog, was it? A rather strange one, though. It seemed almost to have a human-like consciousness, too.
Still, Mirka was a bit afraid of it. She was more of a cat person. “H-Hello~” She greeted it of course not expecting a reply, as it was an animal. She wasn’t quite sure of what to do; should she pet it? Or— Well, she wasn’t really sure if she wanted to do that.
Amaterasu didn't think the voice of the gods--i.e. her voice--would reach anyone who didn't believe in her. That was usually how it went. Not that she deigned to speak all that often anyway.
Getting to her paws, she walked over with a cheery wag of her tail, tilting her head back to look at the woman. Probably another person who only saw a white wolf.
Amaterasu pivoted her head to the side, curious about all of these people who seemed to be interested in her. It was either because she was a rather random white wolf wandering the streets, or because they saw her markings and the burning shield on her back, it depended on their belief in the Gods and Goddesses.
She let out a friendly bark.

“Well, I enjoy your company, Miss Amaterasu~” Chun chuckled from the headbutt and then leaned against the wolf, a bit exhausted herself. “Children…?”
Amaterasu thumped her tail.
"I have many children, but I refer in particular to the Celestial Brush Gods. They bear constellations that shine down upon Nippon from every angle."
She didn't have a constellation herself, so much as the sun itself was her symbol.

“Yeah I am too……” Then he almost flew off when Ammy suddenly started running. “I-I don’t know! Guess we can ask the people around here?!”
"That's a good idea. Would it help if we located some materials for you to paint, as well?" He was her Celestial Envoy after all. She continued to bound along, at her full power, for now.

“I don’t know… Possibly…”
"I suppose I've pestered you with questions enough for one evening." Amaterasu yawned and sat down, looking up at the sky. "It's odd...to not see the constellations of my children above me." She gave an affectionate headbutt, thankful for the information and help. It wasn't often she spoke so much in one go.

“W-What…?!” Issun’s eyes widened again.”Yes… I know what will happen to you… So we have to do good deeds for people. And fast.”
"I am concerned for Nippon and the Celestial Plain, of course," Amaterasu said as she came to a stop on the top of a hill. "However, without prayers I will lose my powers and I will be in no state to help anyone. So that must be our first concern for the present..."
She pushed off, racing down the slope with flowers blooming in her wake. "Where to start...?"

“Well…. I’ve heard that there is a trickster who is named Dolos… And that she’s a mean person…”
Even the name was rough on her tongue.
"Do you think that this 'Dolos' is the cause behind the destruction of the worlds? Or is she simply a threat to the general public?" Amaterasu supposed that either way she was going to help the best she could.

Issun shook his head, “No, I just got here…” He looked around, recognizing nothing.
"It seems that our world has been destroyed," she sighed, lowering her head as she padded along. "I don't know the details, no one does. At the present I'm fine, but without prayers...you know what will happen to me."

As the wolf sat up straight, Chun wondered. There were many people around, so maybe one of them could help this goddess stay safe! She smiled.
“I bet you’ll be able to meet someone who has the ability to help you stay strong!~”
"I would hope so, though now I'm curious, you mentioned this world could use a guardian as well? From what?"
She tilted her head to the side curiously, a soft whine rising up in her throat.

“H-Hey, furball! How’s it going?!” Issun laughed hugging his companion’s furry snout. He let go and jumped onto the top of the wolf’s head. It felt like old times.
Amaterasu let him bounce there like usual, turning her head and trotting off in the direction of the city. "Are you aware of the current situation?" She inquired after a pause.

Oh, when the wolf goddess slumped, Chun felt sympathetic for the goddess. Gods couldn’t live without prayers from the people, but there was a bunch of people on Arcadios who can pray for Amaterasu.
“Wait…! There’s a bunch of survivors on Arcadios, I bet I can get them to believe in you!”
Amaterasu forced herself to sit up, knowing full well that feeling sorry for herself would accomplish nothing. There was still a chance that Nippon wasn't lost forever--too many unknown variables, and if there was even a chance, a sliver of one, she could't roll over and play dead just yet.
"Instilling belief in others is not a simple task, but it's something I've accomplished before." With Issun's help.

Wait, that bark seemed familiar. Really. Issun turned around and his eyes widened. There, in front of him, was his old friend, Amaterasu. He rushed to her as fast as he could.
“A-Ammy!!!”
Amaterasu knelt down and touched her nose to the top of his head, her tail swinging with more energy than it had since she had first set paw here.
"It's wonderful to see you!" After the news she had just received regarding the state of Nippon, it was truly delightful to find her dear friend safe and well. The ability to speak, though, had only manifested itself when she arrived here.
