3.8 F Hilary Knight signs with Les Canadiennes de Montréal “for the 2018 Clarkson Cup Playoffs”. She may return to the Boston Pride.

4.30 F Harrison Browne announces his retirement.

5.22 The Minnesota Whitecaps announce that Shivaune Stauber and Team USA Head Coach Rob Stauver will jointly assume head coaching duties in 2018-2019. Not anymore!

5.30 D Monique Lamoureux announces that she is expecting a baby in December and will likely miss most, if not all, of the 2018-2019 season.

6.21 The Buffalo Beauts announce they have re-signed D Jacquie Greco, G Julia DiTondo, and F Jordan Juron. Greco returns for her third season, DiTondo for her second, and Juron for her first full season– she joined the Beauts before the playoffs on a PTO.

6.22 The Metropolitan Riveters announce they have re-signed all three of their goalies from the 17-18 season. G Katie Fitzgerald and G Sarah Bryant return for their third seasons, while G Kimberly Sass returns for her second.

Coming out as transgender so publicly was something that I never thought I would’ve had the courage to do. I always had doubts in my mind that the athletic community would accept me for me. Initially I thought that my gender identity would always be something I kept secret until my time in sports was over. But when my sporting identity and my identity to the outside world became too difficult to juggle I only had one option… to tell everyone who I really was.

I came out for myself initially, to let go of this huge burden that I was carrying. But what came out of living my truth was more than I ever could’ve imagined. Being Harrison to everyone gave me a platform and a new found place in the sport world. I have an added responsibility as not only an athlete, but as an advocate for trans rights and equality. I stand proud as a transgender athlete and hope to inspire as many people as I can to live an authentic life.
