i’m starting to not like taylor swift anymore, and my mom said that it “insults her intelligence” when current / popular authors write in a poc character and a gay / LGBTQ+ character… weird day today ig
why is my local theater not showing supergirl, isn’t that your job like wtf 😭☠️
idk how to explain this but in a way I think Thunderbolts* is to the MCU as Rogue One is to SW. does that make sense to anyone else?
i just finished watching the amazing digital circus after caving in from seeing all of the fandom hype around the finale. granted, i didn't have an initial interest to watch it, but i just had to know lol, and i wanted to share my thoughts after watching it all in one sitting. for starters, i'll share what i liked about it. no doubt, the animation style was really good, and i think that was a huge part of the appeal for this series. the character designs were also really good and very drawable, which i think is gold for any fandom lol. personally, I enjoyed kinger and caine's characters the most. this series had a lot of potential imo, but i think the major things that really let it down were the dialogue and jax herself. i'll admit, the dialogue had its moments at times (mainly with kinger tbh), but i feel like, recently, with these kinds of things, there's that middle school dialogue / humor that finds its way into the series, and it just downplays what could really be something great. there were good interpersonal conversations, but i felt the plot would just move on (or jax would open her mouth), and it would never get anywhere. but the biggest problem for me is that you couldn't pay me all the money in the world to get me to sympathize with jax. she tortured gangle the entire time and made everyone feel shitty about themselves in general. i understand having a bad childhood and parental issues can lead to someone closing themselves off and having isolating defense mechanisms (at least, based off of other media i've seen, i'm not a psychologist), but it's not an excuse to treat people like shit and never apologize. she had multiple chances to apologize to any of them, and she never took it. not to mention, the entire finale was about her, and all of the other characters' arcs were just pushed to the side. from what i've seen, people are calling jax a "complex character," but i don't really feel that's true. if anything, caine was the complex character in the whole thing. jax was just a bully the whole time, and her character never changed. why tf they had gangle crying over him will forever baffle me, especially since she received the brunt of jax's abuse. tbh, you know you really fucked up when the sort-of main villain in the whole series is more likeable than one of your "protagonists" (not to mention she's supposed to be a self-insert, like tf??). lastly, the finale was kinda terrible lmao. jax abstracted so fast, and that really lowered any kind of stakes imo. i've seen someone say that the rest of it just feels like one long epilogue, and i have to agree. i didn't feel like it really amounted to anything in the end. idk, maybe if the finale was shorter, or the series had more episodes that centered around other characters instead of three of them just becoming plot devices for jax's story, it might've been more interesting. i think the best way that i can describe it is a series with a lot of potential that fell down the same hole that makes other series' like hazbin hotel pretty much unwatchable and kind of unenjoyable when all is said and done. if you enjoyed, that's totally fine, and i can see elements in it that would make people enjoy, but i just don't think it was my kind of show lol.

Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle THE PUNISHER: ONE LAST KILL
PUNISHER: ONE LAST KILL WAS SO GOOD, I'M SCREAMING
i just wanted to put a few of my thoughts / opinions down bc i just got so excited and overwhelmed, i started crying lmao (this special will carved in my brain for the whole summer i fear):
first of all, frank castle with a beard, shirtless, and a little bloody within the first five minutes was all i could want, thank you so much marvel
but having a guy throw a dog in front of the truck??? that was so terrible, i didn't even realize what happened until the guy was crying, and my jaw dropped. good on frank for still going after people that hurt dogs lmao
i thought the way they portrayed frank's struggles with his past and his late family was really cool, and i like that they actually wrote it to seriously affect his mental health and have him visibly very devastated. i feel like they mention his struggles a bit in the old show and in ddba, but i really liked how they delved so much more into it this time around
he also still has all those little tics and movements, which i always like seeing
with that, i thought his hallucinations were interesting, too. at first, in the trailer, i thought they were implying curtis's death or something, but his hallucination of karen is leaving me hopeful curtis is still alive somewhere
as a kastle stan: KASTLE PINING ON FRANK'S SIDE YIPPEE!!! (i do understand btw that karen doesn't like him like that in these shows since she has matt in ddba obv, but i do enjoy being delusional lmao) him envisioning karen in the same sweatshirt he was seeing his wife in was crazyyyy work
the fight scenes were awesome imo, and it still had all that same gruesome energy that i think fits his character, so i definitely don't feel cheated in that department (him shooting the guy while jumping off the roof was so >>>>>)
the scene where he was debating whether to go after ma or save the family was really awesome, and i thought it was really on point for him to have that dilemma of finishing the job or not for innocent lives, and him choosing the family had me cheering
his moment with charli when she gave him that flower was such a good scene, too. him saying he felt his daughter's presence in her after struggling so much was a really good scene imo
overall, i felt like the special totally met my expectations, and i'm really excited to see him in brand new day :)
please
