HG’s face when she meets Myka for the first time.
“I felt like my character was supposed to have chemistry with [Eddie]…and I was like, "that would never happen…” then Joanne Kelly walked onto set and I was just like, “hell yes.”“ — Jaime Murray
I was just watching “Emily Lake” and noticed…
Bless you, Emily Lake. You seem like a real cool lady. I mean, you’re no H.G. Wells, but you’re alright in my book. Seeing these signs in schools makes me very, very happy - and Cheyenne, Wyoming isn’t exactly a bastion of pro-gay sentiment. So you go, Ms. Lake. I bet you’re a kick-ass English teacher.

When I get nominated to inform actors of very important things, I take it very seriously..

Here's another contribution to Pride Month
Three drawings in one month?! Omg, I'm so amazing
My favorite part —>
myka-hg:
“I mean, she’s a beautiful woman, right? … Jaime’s such a good actress and I have so much fun with her, and I think it was one of the things that we talked about, how to make the dynamic interesting and different. And so…we fell in love a little bit.”
Woman : You’re not seeing a little love in the air for Myka?
Joanne : Only with HG…
Joanne : ...the character (Myka) does take another journey this year. Jaime Murray has a lot to do with it, as we see HG Wells. And we do see another very specific journey for Myka, like nothing that I think we’ve seen before.
From this TVGuide interview:
Joanne : You’ll see her (HG) throughout season 3. [Long pause] I don’t know if I’m supposed to say that. Oh, well! [Laughs] The relationship with Myka and HG will be even more interesting this season. […] If anything, I think the closest Myka comes to a romance is with HG Wells. […] I really welcome that dynamic. It’s interesting to see two strong and smart female characters developing such a cool relationship.
I LOVE THAT JOANNE SHIPS MYKA AND HG !!!!
Another classic. And adding in the newest declarations from our Captain and Supreme Shippah…
Question: “…Is HG Wells alive?”
Joanne Kelly: “Can’t tell you, uh….Myka will always love HG. Put it that way.”
Interviewer: “You and HG Wells…your characters, seem to have a lot of, uh…”
Joanne Kelly: “We’re in love!”
Interviewer: “You were in love?”
Joanne: “Yeah. I think so. Who wouldn’t be in love with Jaime Murray?”
Interviewer: “Agreed.”
Joanne: “Yeah, I mean I think, um-“
Eddie McClintock: “In a non-scissoring way.
Joanne: (laughs) “No, definitely scissoring.”
Eddie: “Oh, scissors? Scissors?”
Joanne: “Well I just think that…We don’t really have a lot of those relationships. And we didn’t really do anything literal. We just had our characters really like each other. Maybe even fall in love a little bit. I mean… Why does everyone always think, ‘When are Pete and Myka gonna get together?’ What an interesting twist, to have Myka fall for a woman.”
Joanne: Jaime and I got to do some really special scenes…. Jaime: Yeah. Joanne: [Laughs] Yeaaah. Jaime: [Laughs] I love those scenes. We were having a conversation with [executive producer] Jack Kenny about our characters and he was like, “Oh, you know, they’re just really good friends. And I’m going home for the day.” And were like, “Mmm hmm. OK, then. Bye, Jack.”
Jaime: I mean, H.G. is an eccentric woman. I don’t think she’s ever really cared what anyone else thought of her. She’s just doing her own thing. So when she finds herself in the future and meets Myka, she meets, for the first time probably, a woman who is as strong as her and as dedicated as her…And then she meets Myka, and she’s like, “Oh, thank God. I’m not completely alone in the universe.”
Jaime: It’s written in the script that a lot of the female characters have a flirtation with Pete, because he’s charming and full of jokes, but at the end of my first episode in season two, I end up with a gun to his head. And I thought, you know, H.G. would probably see through all that charm and bravado. She’d probably enjoy it, but she’d see through it. So I remember saying to Jo, “I think Myka’s probably more her type.” Joanne: Remember that one line? “Many of my lovers have been men?” When you said that I was like, “Uh oh! Here we go!” Jaime: There were all these little things we thought no one would ever particularly notice, but then they started writing for it and suddenly we were bound together in ropes. Joanne: And then I started to dress like you! [x]
Needs this beauty too!
“Oh god, yeah. I would love that [seeing HG and Myka together]. With Jaime? That would be awesome. It’s the only romantic relationship that we get to see Myka [have] … We see this deep, deep bond with these two people, and the only other relationship that I’ve really explored like that was with Sam, my partner who died. And we just kind of touched on it. But H.G. is a much bigger storyline.” - io9 Interview with Joanne Kelly
"I love that relationship. I love that it was ambiguous. I wish we could have gotten into it a little more. Our show is really hard to be a relationship show, because there’s so much going on, and if you do a relationship, then it takes over the whole show, and that’s not really what are deal is. So, um, I liked that there was an ambiguity in that relationship. And I, you know, yeah, women like women! Newsflash! It happens all the time. It’s not that big of a deal. But, uh, I like that it was represented on our show.”
Jaime Murray - 2017 OUAT Chicago
“I was not a girl who did girl things. I was a girl who worked on puzzles. These were puzzles that took weeks to solve. And when I solved a puzzle, and I always solved them, I felt brilliant.”
