Fiery Confidence Shower Spell/meditation
I used this a few days ago actually and it really helped me get through some drama.
Basically this spell is for when you need to thicken your skin, and light a flame inside your stomach  (where most people keep their overwhelming feelings) so to speak.
Its more of a meditation really, but I find it very effective.
What you need:
- A shower
- Ground Cinnamon.
Optional - A stool (if you canât close your eyes and stand for a while, just get a stool to sit down)
Procedure:
- Sprinkle some ground cinnamon somewhere in the shower that doesnât get water hitting it directly. (I put mine on one of the corner ledges of my tub)
- run the water, and do your shower thing.
- with the hot water and the steam, youâll begin to really smell the cinnamon.
- take a moment to close your eyes and inhale the scent of cinnamon, picturing it going in through your nose, down past your lungs and into your stomach, swirling around.
- you can chant in your head some things you wish to take from this (ex, I am Confident, I am worthy, I am enough)
- Just breathe in and out from here. A flame grows in your core, and with each inhale the flame gets bigger, with each exhale you release fire. (youâre like a fire breathing dragon by now lol)
- when youâre ready open your eyes and get out the shower, ready to conquer the day.
- if the cinnamon hasnât dissolved with the moisture already, this is a good time to go ahead and get that out of there.
10 Daily Witchy Things
Cleanse your bed in the morning when you make it- to remove the stress and negativity of the previous night and have a peaceful sleep the next night.Â
Make a cup of tea and charge it with positive energy to get you through the day.Â
Clean your desk/workspace/wherever you do creative things and draw productivity sigils on it in cleaner or keep a clear quartz nearby to focus energy.Â
Bless your keys before you get in your car for protection on the road.Â
Use a special scrub or face mask in the shower for a glamour spell.Â
Spend time outside, or keep your blinds open to allow sunlight in.Â
Take a walk outside, if you can, and ground yourself with each step.Â
Use wax melters, incense, or other scented items to fill your space with an intended scent.Â
Cleanse your phone/other electronic devices- clean out the old apps and photos, clean out the negative people from your contact list, and reset your ringtones and wallpaper to increase positive energy.Â
Before you go to bed, take ten minutes and thank your deities (if you have any) and reflect on your day. Before you fall asleep, think of one thing that was good about the day, no matter how small, and be grateful.Â
Whew, finally back from school! Now that Iâm free, itâs time to reassemble one of my best school essentials for next quarterâtiny, reusable packets of herbs that are perfect for spells on the go (or spicing up a dull mealâŚwhatâs the difference, really?).Â
While I love the look of tiny bottles for portable ingredients, theyâre not as space-saving as these repurposed straws. So though my best staples get bottled for easiest refills, I like to keep the odd ingredient (or extra backups of the classics) rattling around in my pockets like this! Some things to keep in mind:
Only melt the ends as theyâre separated from the herbs by the pliers/tweezersâfood safe plastic or not, you still donât want that melting on your ingredients!
Most straws work for this, but thin plastic straws may warp and bubble further up the tube before the ends seal shut; try a few tests, and heat with care.
While I always carry around a pen knife, if you donât, consider keeping these in a little pocket tin with a razor blade for easy opening. Cutting the small notch in the end is pretty effective for fingers-only opening, but may cause leaks in fluid-filled packets and should be avoided in those cases. Small, neat incisions with a knife also make for easier sealing for reuse!Â
EDIT: while I didnât touch on it too much here, I also use these to prepare ready-made spells. If youâre doing this, consider matching the color of the candle and straw to the spell intent!

Trash in Witchcraft
We all know that I will, and do, use anything in witchcraft, as long as itâs not alive. Iâve been getting more into ârecycling witchcraftâ, because thereâs so much stuff you could do with random crap. So hereâs some examples of what Iâm talking about, and how you can use them.
Lace
Now this might not seem like trash, but I have a huge bag of old lace my grandmother gave me. And some of it is too short to use for any kind of sewing/crafting.
But lace is good for glamour, beauty and lust spells. It can also be used for protection and curses, if you use it in a certain way. Lace can be used for a âcaught in my webâ spell. Lace pretty much looks like a prettier form of cobwebs, anyways.
Soda cans
I drink a lot of canned sparkling water, so I was wondering, âcan I use these for anything?â Well, you can actually use the whole can. I use the tab (the thing that opens the can) for curses and protection pouches. And i used the rest of the can to make a Spirit Wind Chime. I just cut them in half (if youâre going to do this, PLEASE be careful. Aluminium is very sharp, and deadly if pets eat it. Wash your hands after cutting cans like this.), poked a hole in the bottom of the can, and strung string through the whole and the opening in the top. I did these with about 3-4 soda cans. After, charm it so whenever a spirit is near itâll make a sound. (Also a good idea for a wind chime if you want to annoy the hell out of your neighbors.)
You can also make little candle holders out of them. Hereâs the link
Candy Wrappers
Lately Iâve been eating a lot of Wertherâs Original hard caramel candies. The wrappings are shiny and gold, so I figured I could use them for something.
If you work with certain mythical creatures, you know that some of them are attracted to shiny things. The ones I know of are; faires, pixies, brownies (at least I think. I donât know much about them) and other fae like things. (Please correct me if Iâm wrong. I know more of spirits and folklores, rather then what creatures like.) Use them in your spells/offerings.
Also use them for quick on the go glamour spells.
Broken Glass
Please please be careful with any broken glass, I really donât want anyone getting hurt. But broken glass is good for curses, protection spells, and certain mythical creatures like them.
Sorry for random post guys, but I hope this gives anyone some ideas on how to use random objects in witchcraft âť
A Crash Course in Warding
elvenwitch:
Letâs just start a series of crash courses in witchcraft, since sometimes we need to learn things the quick and dirty way. Today, letâs talk about wards.
What are wards? Wards are protective energy barriers. They keep things out. You can place them around your home, certain rooms, even on certain objects. With practice and clear intentions, you can focus the wards to block out everything or only certain things. Weâll get to that in a bit.
Why should I ward my space and my things? Wards can keep out all sorts of things you donât want in your home. They can block out negative entities, wayward spirits, mischievous entities, demons, and (if youâre really good at what youâre doing) even gods. Some people ward their divination tools so they know there are no spirits tampering with the results.
So what do I need to do first? Cleanse. This is very important. Wards are kind of like walls, or perhaps more accurately, bubbles. If you donât clean the space first, you might trap things inside your ward bubble. You do not want that. There are lots of methods of cleansing, from burning sage to spritzing oil-infused water. Find a method youâre comfortable with and cleanse everything youâre going to be warding.
Iâve cleansed my home/item. Now what? Now we ward. Iâm going to give you a couple methods. Letâs start with my favorite, incense warding.
Incense warding can also be done with spritzes of water/essential oil blends or herb-infused water if you canât have smoke in your space. Whichever youâre using, you want to have a blend of protective herbs. Bay leaves, cinnamon, ginger, mustard seed, and salt are some great options that you can find in the grocery store, no fancy witch shop necessary. If youâre using incense, make sure youâre using natural incense and not super cheap stuff thatâs artificially scented. The magic is in the herbs, and you wonât get that from fake scents.
How to Incense/Spritz Ward an Item
Smoke or spray item.
Visualize the smoke or spray clinging to the item and wrapping around it like a tight blanket, protecting it from anything that would cause harm (or interference, etc.).
How to Incense/Spritz Ward Your Space
Pick a place to start. I always start at my altar, but itâs up to you. If youâre doing multiple floors, start either at the top or bottom floor.
Moving continuously to your right, smoke or spray along the walls and door frames. As you go, imagine a barrier being formed around the walls, ceiling, and floor, pushing outwards to fill the room. Visualize the smoke or spray forming the barrier to keep out anything that will do you harm. [If you have a hard time with visualization, you can simply focus on the intent of the smoke or spray keeping things out.]
Keep moving right, following the layout of your home, making sure you get all the closet spaces. You basically want to outline the entire area youâre protecting, whether itâs youâre room or your whole house.
For multiple floors, repeat on each level.
For big layouts where there are rooms in the middle, go around those rooms as well.
I like to reinforce the wards over outside doors, windows, and mirrors. These are all passages of sorts, and when I reach them, I use the incense to draw a pentagram in the air over them. This is entirely up to you.
Youâre done when youâve reached the point where you began.
So why do we go to the right? Is that important? Kind of. Going to the right is like going clockwise. Itâs about making things and progression, where going to the left or counter-clockwise is about deconstruction or reversal. [I read this idea in a witchy book a long time ago and will try to find a source when I can. If you honestly donât feel it makes a difference, do whatever youâre comfortable with.]
Can I place wards that keep out certain things but not others? Sure. When youâre going around your space/warding your item, your intent is whatâs important. I like to ward out entities that mean harm - itâs nice and general and doesnât keep the fae out. Some people might want certain spirits and not others. Have your intentions clear in your mind as you place your wards.
Thatâs neat and all, but what are some other ways to ward? Letâs list a few.
Symbol/Sigil Wards
Choose (or make) a symbol or sigil that has protective properties. Iâve done this with Plutoâs astrological symbol because I worship him and itâs my way of being like, âHey, Pluto. Please protect me, kthanxbai.â Pentagrams are nice and basic witchy/pagan symbols if you like them.
Draw the symbol over doors and windows. You do not literally have to draw it. It can be in water, incense smoke, or just your finger against the surface if you want.
As youâre drawing, make sure you have your intentions in mind - that nothing harmful can pass through this door, that the windows remain closed against entities, etc.
Energy Bubbles (if you have control over your energy)
Pick an item - any item.
Get your warding intentions in mind.
Channel lots of energy into the item. Visualize it emanating from the item in a bubble to fill your space.
If youâve got mad skillz, you can form the bubble to the walls and be super exact with where its barriers are.
Vocal Wards
If you like spoken (or thought) spells, come up with a small chant to protect your space.
You can repeat this chant as you focus on your item being protected or as you walk around your home, protecting every room.
This is really great to incorporate into basically any other form of warding and gives your magic an extra bit of oomph.
Iâve heard wards can âfadeâ over time. True or false? Wards are just energy. Like all energies, they can disperse and weaken over time, or if something particularly nasty puts effort into destroying them. Redo your wards every so often (I do mine every few months, but itâs up to you), and especially before spiritual interactions. I also like to do mine after Iâve had lots of company, to kind of clear out familyâs lingering energies and reinforce what I donât want in my house.
In general, the intent of your wards is the most important part. Know what you want to keep out. This concludes our crash course on warding. Now go forth and protect some stuff!
Tarot Questions in a Crisis
Many people disagree on whether reading Tarot when in a real crisis is a good idea or potentially harmful. Â I think it depends on your intent and what you are seeking to get out of your readings. Â This is my own interpretation of this issue and the opinions are my own.Â
What can be potentially Harmful
Prophecy/Divination Trying to determine what WILL happen in a crisis can be confusing. We are emotionally distraught, we arenât thinking clearly. We are completely permeated by our current circumstance. Even if our reading is accurate, we may be unable to accurately determine what our soul or spirit guides are telling us. Cards are not an exact science and if we try to determine exactly what is happening through divination, we may make poor or detrimental decisions.Â
Making Critical Decisions based on what Cards tell us We may not have all of the information, and whenever we do readings, we can only interpret the cards in accordance with the information our cognitive mind already has. Â Even the most intuitive and gifted psychics can struggle to interpret information from their subconscious accurately.Â
Asking the Wrong Questions I cannot tell you how many times in my own life, when faced with a crisis, that I was completely hung up on asking all the wrong questions. And the answers to the wrong questions could lead us astray. Or, our desperate spirit guides might give us the answers to the right (but completely different) questions. I was too close the the situation to have even known what the right questions would have been.
Positive Questions to Ask Tarot in a Crisis (ask yourself too)
What can I do to stay healthy so I can deal with this effectively?
How can I approach this differently?Â
How do I continue to show love to the people important to me?
How can I continue to seek my highest good?
What can I do to be prepared to handle the outcomes of this crisis?Â
Who should I look to for comfort, guidance and wisdom?Â
Irregular Witchy Reminder
Done any jar spells with fresh ingredients in the past several weeks?Â
Please check on them now for mold. Cancel out the spell, cleanse the jar, whatever â promise me youâll throw out the contents.
If you meant for them to mold, then just donât keep them indoors. Thatâs just gross and unsanitary.
I took my own advice too late last week.
Goodbye, herbs from 2014!
WITCH TIP:Â
A small chunk of charcoal (for those that donât know what charcoal is- its the burned out chalky chunks of burned wood from a woodfire) will absorb moisture and prevent mold!! It doesnât have to effect your spell in anyway.Â
If your jar contains liquid, put a tsp of vodka for the same purpose.Â
Quick Amulet / Charm Blessing
To bless an amulet or charm, between your hands and visualize the desired results in full detail. Once you have a strong vision of it in your mind eye chant these following words.
âI give you joy, breath, and life I give you purpose, plan and sight. Do now what I ask of thee. As I will, so mote it beâ
