Hi, I’m Tork!! I’m 19 and I go by they/it pronouns. I’m an artist and a CHRONIC yapper, but I also make lots of other fandom content like occasional moodboards and edits.
On this blog you’ll be finding general creepypasta content, but of course there will be a lot of my beloved Ticciwork <3
If you ever want to submit your own creepypasta headcanons, have questions, or just want to yap, my inbox is always open!!
My DNI list is pretty basic. Any and all forms of discrimination will land you on a block list immediately, as well as any darkshippers and zoos/maps. Basically, as long as you’re a decent person you’re chill with me.
I really need people to look into tourettes more when writing Tobias. I understand coprolalia is the most well-known version of tourettes and is probably the version he was initially written with, but that is only like 1% of all people with tourettes. Tobias is one of the very few reps of tourettes that I've got. I've been seeing everyone doing research into the CIPA for him, and yet I haven't seen the same for tourettes. Tics show up differently for different people. I just wanna see more rep of that. ToT
AS SOMEONE WHO ALSO HAS TOURETTES I HEAVYYY AGREE WITH THIS DUDE.
I yearn for the day people stop interpreting him as just swearing and head jerks. Let him have unflattering facial tics. Let him have hand tics that get in the way of doing things. Let him have vocals that are LITERALLY anything other than swearing 😭 PLEASE
How to not stereotype Tourette’s (from someone who has it) PART THREE
PART 1 | PART 2
The final part! In this one I’ll be talking over the differences in simple and complex tics, suppression, and how it feels to have tics!
SIMPLE VS. COMPLEX TICS:
Simple tics are when one tic happens on its own and doesn’t affect or trigger any other tics, like blinking or snapping. Complex tics however are when multiple of them happen at once or in a sequence. For example, I have a complex tic where I squeeze my eyes shut, then look up as far as my eyes can go while raising my eyebrows and jerking my chin down at the same time. They often follow patterns.
Complex tics can start out as simple tics that slowly converge into a pattern, or they can start existing all on their own. They also don’t have to affect the same part of the body, you can have complex tics that affect your face, arms, etc. at the same time!
SUPPRESSION:
Suppression is a skill people with tics can learn where they can, as the word implies, suppress their tics for a brief period of time. Usually this can happen for at least a couple seconds to a couple minutes at a time.
It is NOT stopping the tics entirely. Think of it like holding in a sneeze. Often suppressing can end up making the tics worse when you let go too. It is a conscious effort that you need to be thinking about and focusing on in order to do. Suppression isn’t easy in other ways as well, for it is often very uncomfortable due to the next topic I’m about to bring up.
HOW IT FEELS TO HAVE TICS:
Tics don’t always just happen because they happen. Often, there can be physical feelings associated with them that cause the tic to happen!
Some tics may feel like an itch that can’t get scratched until the tic is completed. The tics that affect my eyes are like that, and suppressing them for too long can become genuinely painful.
Another feeling for tics may be a sort of pressure. This is very common for vocals! Another feeling that affects vocals a lot is almost like a bubble in your throat needing to get out.
Not all tics have feelings associated with them as well. Some just happen and that’s it, nothing else to them.
FINAL THOUGHTS:
Aaaand that’s about it! I hope this helped you learn how to portray Tourette’s better. I’ve already mentioned this before but it is very important: PLEASE DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH. This post is a good place to start, but you should still be researching any and all conditions you plan to write for in the first place! This is one of the biggest reasons unintentional stereotyping can happen. You need to get into the habit of looking into these kinda things before writing them.
If you have questions about anything, don’t be afraid to ask me. I hope this is coherent as well I’m very tired writing all this.
How to not stereotype Tourette’s (from someone who has it) PART TWO
PART 1 | PART 3
In this part I’m going to be explaining what different kinds of tics exist and the ways they can present!
VOCAL TICS:
When most people hear Tourette’s, there’s typically one tic they immediately think of: coprolalia, aka tics that involve swearing. While these are very real tics people can have, the overwhelming majority of us do not. The majority of Tourette’s rep has coprolalia to the point it can unfortunately come across as stereotypical, especially when the person depicting has not researched the condition at all. Do NOT think that means you cannot use coprolalia though, just make sure to do your research and remember coprolalia is not the only vocal!
There are many other vocal tics one can have. A few examples include:
- Words or phrases that don’t include swearing
- Repeating other people’s words (echolalia)
- Humming
- Whistling
- Grunting
- Clearing your throat
- Coughing
-Yelling/screeching/screaming (words or just sounds)
Pretty much any noise you make can be a tic!
An important thing to keep in mind when writing speaking tics is that there are many ways those can present as well. Some may sound forced or use a different voice than normal, but they can also sound as normal as if they were being used in a casual conversation.
MOTOR TICS:
Motor tics are any tics that are movement based and not sound. From what I’ve seen, the kind people often think of when they hear this are head jerking. Same as coprolalia, depictions of this are very common to find (especially in the creepypasta fandom) but that doesn’t mean you cannot portray them at all! They are much more common IRL than coprolalia too.
Motor tics in general are a LOT more diverse than you might think. Pretty much any movable part of the body can be affected by them. Face, neck, shoulders, arms legs etc. EVERYTHING can be affected.
Some motor tics include:
- Repeating other people’s actions (echopraxia)
- Blinking
- Scrunching your nose
- Rolling your eyes
- Raising your eyebrows
- Pursing your lips
- Popping your knuckles
- Snapping
- Shrugging
- Jerking your arm
- Arching your back
- Jerking or kicking your leg
And much more! There are so many different motor tics that people can have. And just like vocals, they can also can present in different ways. Some are quick and jerky, while others may look slower and purposeful. Again, it depends from person to person.
How to not stereotype Tourette’s (from someone who has it) PART ONE
PART 2 | PART 3
I felt inspired to write this post because a lot of people will write characters like Ticci Toby in an unfortunately stereotypical way, especially with the types of tics they give him and how they are portrayed. So I wanted to make a guide to hopefully help people change that!
This will be long, fair warning.
HOW TICS FORM:
First off, tics can develop for many different reasons when you have Tourette’s. Sometimes they come about randomly, sometimes they’re connected to something you do. (For example I developed tics from drawing and playing mobile games often, as well as due to certain conditions such as sensory processing disorder.)
They can also change over time. The tics I have now at 19 are very different to the tics I had at 12. Some can last for a very long time (like how I’ve had a nose scrunching tic since I was a young child) while others can form and disappear over the course of a few months to a few years.
The severity of your tics can change over time as well. You can have periods of only having a few minor tics to then developing many much larger more noticeable tics, then back to minor ones. This of course changes from person to person depending on the severity of their condition. Some will have minor tics for the majority of their life and others may have debilitating ones, others a mix of both. It’s very fluid and presents in many different ways.
HOW TICS CAN GET TRIGGERED:
Now, as for how they get triggered, that can be for many, MANY different reasons. Tics in general can be very sensitive and can get triggered from just talking or even thinking about them. They can also get worse with stronger emotions, louder environments, or stressful situations. Many are present all throughout the day, but certain tics will only come about under certain conditions.
For example, I have developed a tic where whenever I am drawing with my tablet I will press my pen down into the screen as hard as I can (yes, this has damaged both my tablet and my pen 🥲). It doesn’t happen when I’m writing, or when I’m drawing on paper, only when I’m using specifically my drawing tablet.
But there are many other minor things that can trigger different tics or make the constant ones get worse. Some people will get triggered from certain lights or sounds. Sometimes even certain colors can be a trigger! It can all get very specific and I heavily encourage you to do your own research if you want to include tics like that in your story/character/etc.

“Oh! So what if there’s a lack of POC characters in the Creepypasta fandom?! That doesn’t mean you have [insert hc] wash them!!”
1) yknow your favorites? Like the ‘og’ pastas? The 4chan pastas? Jeff BEN and EJ? None of them are white 😭.
The og jeff the killer image is suspected to have Japanese origins (albeit being lost media) and even if that isn’t a valid argument bc , again , it’s lost media — we still have pastamonsters Jeff. The OG Jeff that came before Jeffery woods and quite literally shaped the fanonical jeff the killer we know today; he’s Mexican. He’s been mexican since the beginning …. Jeffery woods is the white washed fanon version and gained more popularity than pastamonsters Jeff.
B.E.N & BEN drowned are tan / brown. While yes , the kid inhabiting the elegy of emptiness is white — yet the statue isn’t. The elegy is Hylian; B.E.N is an even more prime example on this because thy are actually brown…yet they still got/get white washed ! Also the amount of weird comments n shit I’ve seen / avoidance of using B.E.N bc they aren’t attractive 🤔 but that’s a story for another day.
EJ is a fucking creature bruh; it doesn’t have an ethnicity …. EJ can be LITERALLY WHATEVER! WE DONT KNOW! But the son of chernobog was created , who’s miraculously white , (Slavic considering the cult he was sacrificed to) and everyone ran with that 🤷
Also not to mention the Creepypasta fandom both in the 2010s and NOW are notorious for being racist and harassing creators of color , putting us people of color on higher pedestals than white creators, sending rape / death threats to us , attempting to doxx us , etc .
So no! I do NOT care if people “backwash” or whatever “wash” that isn’t WHITEWASH your favs! They weren’t even white to begin with! You just got a whole bunch of racist childhood nostalgia up yo booties 🥹
Go back your favs African, go make them Latin, go make them indigenous , go make them Arab or desi , go make them eastern Asian, go make them more culturally Caucasian WHOOO FUCKING CARES!
Nobody is stripping any character from their canon or whatever; esp when a majority of mainstream characters DONT EVEN HAVE A SET ETHNICITY!! MOST OF THEM R FREE FOR ALLS OR ALREADY HIGHLY MISCHARACTERIZED BY THE FANDOM!!
