Made a few cajun turkey burgers for the fam tonight. Cajun seasoned turkey burger with shredded mozzarella, red onions, Mexicano Roma tomatoes, pickle relish, and homemade avocado and sweet potato aioli on wheat bread.

So it turned out great. Worth all the work in the world. Donatello was a challenge, but i got the chance to make a costume that i would have died for. Gabel announced that this was, “Best Trick or Treat ever!” He originally wanted to be the pink Power Ranger, but changed his mind to TMNT early on and stuck with it. Hopefully we can find a pink power ranger suit for him to wear to some up coming parties. I think this will be a Halloween we all remember! "I am Donatello, because I am the smart one." - Gabel

I was pleasantly surprised to find that Malakai had refilled the sugar cubes for me. It made me think about the first time he ever made me coffee: He pulled out this Tupperware container only about 1/5 full of sugar cubes and told me that his mother had bought him a box of them when he was a kid and he had kept them through moving out, going to college, and getting out on his own. They were special, maybe sacred, and I never used them for myself. After we moved into our home, I started serving them to his moms and dad when they came over to play cards and they eventually depleted the small stash as a family. Since then I’ve refilled the container with my own sugar cubes and use them freely, but I often think of the story of a small gesture a mother can make to a child that truly lasts a lifetime. And it’s stories like that which keep me forever falling in love with him. #thefamilyyoumake #love #us 💜💚
