even though he is super friendly and sociable he generally doesn't believe he is loved because he hasn't earned it. he thinks of himself as a demon 💔

Wei Wuxian was facing some serious emotional whiplash right now-- no, spiritual, even! He had this great and big unrecognizable city to explore after having been dead for thirteen years... There was a lot to process, and he didn't know where to start. So, he didn't! Right now, he was wholeheartedly occupied with a cat that he had seen padding around by itself. There was no harm in crouching down to greet it, maybe play with it, he thought-- until he had waved the sleeves of his robes in front of it's face, now struggling to get claws unhooked from his sleeve. "Hey, hey! Little guy, can't you just let go? Please? If you rip this, I'll be walking around in tattered clothing for who knows how long!" He pleaded with the cat, speaking to it as if the small creature could understand his every word.

What did not occur to him, however, was that the cat could possibly have an owner... One that was probably looking for him right now!

In an act of what Jill could only describe as "feline defiance" the bartender realized quickly upon waking up late in the afternoon that Fore had managed to escape their room. How that happened or the reasoning behind it Jill couldn't fathom but the bartender quickly ran out, barely dressed with only a shirt and shorts to solve said mystery.

Eventually she'd see the familiar cat hanging on from someone's sleeve without a care in the world. While a wave of relief crashed inside Jill the fallout from the rest of it could still be bad. Especially if there was someone who didn't appreciate cats regardless of how trained they were.

"For fuc- Fore!" Amusing to say out loud as always but clearly more with a serious tone this time around. "Why the hell did you run away? Come over here right now.'

At the very least the moment the feline did hear Jill's voice did they seem to obey, slowly loosening their grip but not entirely. As if to test their owners patience.

"I'm REALLY sorry he's doing this. I don't know what the hell got into him. You don't have any catnip or something on you do you? Or I dunno, a cat person back where you came from in the first place?"

Wei Wuxian couldn't help but laugh at the situation- this guy really didn't want to let go of him! Well, it's better to be pestered by a cat than a dog, for sure. "Hahah! No, no catnip! Maybe he just really likes me, hm?" He wondered if maybe this cat was a bad judge of character. Or maybe he just really liked Wei Wuxian's sleeves! Either way, it reminded him of a certain someone in his youth. With a free hand, he reached down to scratch the cat on his head, patting him softly in hopes that some affection might be enough to get him to let go.

And then, the wording of her last sentence struck him. Back where he came from? He tilted his head, waving his hand dismissively. He didn't know if he would consider himself a cat person or not- but that wasn't what caught in his mind. "Back where I came from..." He muttered out, raising an eyebrow at Jill before another sudden outburst; "Ah! Can you tell me where you came from, miss? Before here?" More information was never a bad thing to have.

"Hey, kid! With the light hair! You!"

Wei Wuxian called out to Emil casually, not minding his tone or the potential disrespectful undertones of his wording. As it stood, he was in a place that nobody would recognize him, on top of the fact that the body he was settling into was not his-- but, well. That was something he needed to file away and process another time! Anyways, he started waving at Emil with his whole arm, tilting his head as he got closer. This was pure investigation for him. In a strange place, with strange people. How could he even be sure anyone was real? Or that he, himself, was truly here? The whole 'being dead for thirteen years' thing kinda threw a wrench in his ability to gauge these things. "I've got a strange question for you! You'll listen, right?" He flashed a bright grin, waiting for any indication that Emil could hear and see him, or was going to respond to him.

First his clothes (Lei Heng), then his hair was what people were trying to get Sinclair's attention with. He was starting to wonder if maybe he should wear a patch or something so people knew it was alright to just tap him on the shoulder or something instead. There's were so many blonds or people with light hair...

The guy was just lucky that Sinclair happened to look over and realize he was the one being spoken to.

"Huh— a weird question—"

Well...

How weird could the question be?

The man seemed normal enough - honestly, he kind of looked like he would be from H Corp with the way he was dressed. Maybe he was new to Spirale like Sinclair had been not too long ago. Yeah... that definitely seemed to be the most likely situation. Sinclair smiled awkwardly, stopping in his tracks and shifting his grip on the shopping bag of clothes.

"Oh, uh, yeah, sure. I'll listen. Do you need help with something? " He tilted his head curiously.

Wei Wuxian grinned brightly, nodding vigorously in confirmation. It may have been quite a weird question, but it was something he needed to know. "So, you do see me! Ahah. I've been getting ignored left and right, you know? So rude, so rude." He tsked and shook his head in disapproval, but really, wasn't it quite natural to disregard someone who was just going around wildly calling towards strangers and trying to flag them down? They might have thought he was crazy or dangerous-- a perception of himself that he is well accustomed to!

"Well, yes, anyways. My question... You see, I don't know where I am! I mean, I know, but I've never been here. Young man, can you tell me-- in these parts, how well known is the Yiling Patriarch? Wei Wuxian?" He asked, simply, not revealing that he was speaking about himself. It was something he needed to find out, after all. Would his reputation have followed him to this strange place?

Wei Wuxian, simply put, was not having a good day today. Well, it's not like he'd experienced many days in the last thirteen years. His first day back in the living world and he was thrown into such a strange place, with strange people...

And now he was being approached by a strange man going strangely fast-- while he had been backed into a corner by a tiny little dog.

It yipped at him, wagging it's tail- it was clearly just curious, not intending any harm to Wei Wuxian, but his fight or flight had been activated by the initial barking, and... Flight it was! His gaze snapped up to look at the man who had just asked him if he needed help, his fear clouding his attention to details. He bolted from the dog, earning a few nips at his robes (to which he childishly cried out in fear!), but he successfully made it behind Goto, practically clinging to the man's back, trying to use him as some sort of wall between him and the harmless, tiny creature.

"Please! J-Just make it go away!" He pleaded, flinching and turning away from the source of sound as another series of yips started up.

A grown teen being afraid of a dog. Now that he has seen everything, but the dog could be a monster for all he knows. Or...this man is merely afraid of the dog. One would wonder what could happen if there was a monster here he could try his regained skills on. but-

"A bit pathetic."

And then he shoes the dog away, giving one slice of raw bacon and using the edge of his shoes to move it away till it left the scene.

"..."

what else could he say?

He offers some bread to the newcomer.

Wei Wuxian sighed heavily in relief as the dog was chased off, barely skipping a beat before he shamelessly accepted the bread, bowing his head slightly in a show of thanks. He took a bite of the bread-- his stomach was absolutely empty, by the way, and he could in fact eat an entire horse if he had the chance! With his mouth full, his words slightly muffled, "Pathetic? The dog? Mmm, I think I'd probably call it more bothersome than anything!" He answered, letting out a sheepish chuckle and not making it known whether he was really aware of who the pathetic comment was truly intended towards.

"Anyways, anyways! Thank you! It's my first time in this strange place and I almost immediately got chased into a corner by one of those things..." He clicked his tongue and shook his head; it sure was an annoyance. But then his gaze snapped back to Goto, and he put his hands out in front of him in a polite bowing gesture. "What's your name? Do you know a lot about this place?" He avoided introducing himself, for now, even while asking for the other man's name. It was clear that he was in a strange place, but he didn't know if he could take the risk of uttering his own name... Back in his own world, that'd get him hunted down in a flash!

Some momentum was retrieved just yesterday. The speed being not as much as he needed, but it was still the speed of someone who had awakened. At the very least going to places that are farther then usual was easier, so was chores.

A gross misuse of his powers, but Goto did not care, for this was not Japan. The opinions of the people here were less then dust.

Still, when traveling at high speeds... it did not negate how observant he could be. Like today-

"Hm? A new arrival?"

He stops, a bag of groceries in his hands, his form barely blurring from the edges as he was using his mana enhance speed to go around.

He might regret this.

"Do you....need help?"

Since entering this city, Wei Wuxian had become more and more aware of how limited his cultivation ability had become. Whether that was because of the body he was in or the city itself was still somewhat of a mystery to him, but he had been trying out various things, here and there. His current mission: trying to see if playing his flute effected change in anything. Or maybe he had given up and was just playing for fun now. He sat near some kind of big tree, and had been playing his flute obnoxiously loud for about 30 minutes now.

Nothing happening here except for Wei Wuxian disturbing a peaceful environment. Not really anything new for him.
