I love my waxed canvas Nessmuk pack from Frost River (Duluth, MN).  This one was purchased at the 2016 Canoecopia in Madison, WI.  It holds enough gear for a comfortable overnight trek into the woods and, heck, you might just be able to stretch it out over a whole week.  Nessmuk (George Washington Sears) sure did.
