I hope she realizes you're a sock thief. I hope she knows there are rules to be followed- silly light hearted rules. Like bringing enough fireball on every boating trip. That she’ll be kicked off the boat if she doesn’t scoff down a sip of that sugary whiskey. That riding around Block Island on your own damn scooter us the only way to travel. She’ll have to deal with a hangover or two- and lord knows it’ll be worth it. That she’ll make so many friends and have a good time at every event. She better realize how beautiful and kindhearted your children are. And if she dares to break their hearts, there will be hell to pay. That years will pass and things will remain the same. That your bitterness about your previous marriage will eventually hurt her. I hope you’ll love her more than she’ll ever love you. I hope she realizes she has stolen the heart of my best friend.
