she was a ravenclaw at school and was like… a terrible and great student at once. she loves learning!!! so much!!!! so she always did more reading than she had to bc she always managed to find some interesting angle in a topic like there was never one that was truly boring to her she just had to look at it differently?? but she has no impulse control honestly and no self-discipline so like she wasn’t really that good of a student 70% of the time bc she just ran where her curiosity took her rather than what she should have been doing 

meaning that she’d spend ages reading about her newest obsession and then at 3am remember that there was en essay due in the morning on a topic she hadn’t even read a page about 

also like. when i say she’s impulsive she really is. she’d get an idea in her head and she’d just run with it bc she felt it’s more important than going to class so she’d get in a lot of trouble bc she just kept being absent 

but when she did manage to have some discipline she produced really good work tbh she always put 110% into it tho it’s good to mention that she didn’t really care too much about the grades she was mostly just interested in the learning 

and tho she loves reading and good books and stuff she definitely prefers to learn more from experience and really go out there into the world and try things herself. so although she’s fine with reading about the acromantulas’ behaviour during mating season she’d much rather venture into the forbidden forest and observe them herself

also her curiosity leads her to be very nosy. respecting people’s privacy?? not something dom knows anything about 

she does a whole lot of dumb shit in the name of science & research. most of which is completely unrelated to science & research. she just runs with her impulses & curiosity she’s probably been in way too many near death scenarios she’s a mess but she doesn’t really process that she just tells ppl to Chill if they worry 

her attitude can be summed up in the saying curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought it back 

she loves her family!!!! so much!!!! loyal af to them and just really grateful that she was adopted by such a loving family and is surrounded by so many amazing relatives

also she’s the type of person that thanks to her curiosity loves learning about other people’s interests and try to understand what makes them so passionate about it so if you’re her family/ friend and you talk about something you care about you can be sure that she’ll look into it asap. and this in turn leads her to be a pretty good gift giver tbh?? bc she’s already really looked into their passions you know and she tries to find something along those lines and she usually picks gifts that are pretty well suited to the person 

she’s very social and loves meeting new people

she really doesn’t get much sleep tbh which she really should fix but sleep is so boring she’d much rather do something else with her time so she usually goes to bed around 3 am and wakes up around 7 to get ready for work

i feel like that’s not gonna be too good once the war develops more she’s already quite exhausted even if she never really admits it to herself 

in terms of the war she’s on the order’s side and like her parents she’s ready to fight in the war but she also ??? hasn’t really processed all of this tbh like not fully she’s still like wait is this happening and yeah probs gonna have an ugly wake up soon where the severity of the situation settles in

yeah okay so!!! she’s a descendant of the part of the potter family that moved to america ages ago, so until she transferred to hogwarts in her fourth year she didn’t know the other potters?? like obviously she knew of them what with harry saving the wizarding world and all, but they hadn’t met each other before. she’s an only child with no close cousins so like meeting the potters and the huge fam that comes with them was kind of like ………………… wait what for her and she’s still like??? doubt we’re actually related sorry can’t live up to you all

but yeah it’s just her & her parents and she was quite close to them when she was younger, but her dad is a politican (now the president of the magical congress of the us) and her mother is a healer, and they’re both just really ambitious, hardworking people so they didn’t have a lot of time to dedicate to their home life?? and when isa went off to boarding school they drifted further apart, so at this point they honestly don’t know each other that well?? and tbh they’re not bad parents per say, if you don’t count how focused on their careers they are rather than supporting her, it’s just that they’re both so focused and confident i don’t think they ever consider that isa might,,, not be?? and she really, really isn’t. her self-worth is so low and confidence is basically nonexistent, and when she’s nervous or struggling a lot with anxiety she tends to ramble a lot, which her parents just interpret as her being talkative rather than there being an underlying reason for it, and basically there’s just... a lot of misunderstanding between them? like isa still loves them, but whenever she’s home she just doesn’t feel good, and she hates herself for it because they are good people, but she just doesn’t know how to change that??

somehow did not end up nearly as charismatic or smart or anything as her parents tho and is just a mess™ so she mostly introduces herself only with her first name and tries to like not think of the fact that that her dad holds such an important position bc she doesn’t want to bring more embarrassment to the family than she already has lmao

right so penelope’s the youngest daughter of three and has a whole bunch of cousins, almost resembling the wotters in size tbh but they’re a lot more spread out in age so at this point penelope’s one of the only ones still attending hogwarts

her mother’s side of the family are the puddifoots and her father took on her surname after they married because that’s kind of been the tradition for her mother’s side of the family for a while now. he helps run madame puddifoot’s together with some of penelope’s other relatives, while her mother is a famous author and advice columnist focusing mostly on relationship advice

her oldest sister prue is a squib and was homeschooled, though both penelope and her other sister parker showed signs of magic at a pretty early age. despite not having gone to school together then, they are all incredibly close with each other.

romance is a pretty big thing in her family??? i mean one look inside madame puddifoots would make that pretty clear lmao, but both that and her mother’s profession has influenced her a lot so there wasn’t really a surprise to anyone how in love with love she ended up becoming. guaranteed to ship basically all the characters here with someone, sorry not sorry, though she does try to not be too forceful about it and leave people alone

does not really embody the whole hard-working thing that hufflepuff encourages — there’s just so many more interesting things to do than study, and she rarely finds the motivation to actually focus, so she’s just barely scraping by with an average

knows she should probably try a bit harder now that she’s in her last year especially since she has zero clue as to what she wants to do when she’s older but also ????? completely fails at long-term planning and keeps procrastinating so atm that is just not happening

she’s been helping out at madame puddifoot’s during holidays though and she knows that’s where she’ll work once she graduates at least in the beginning so she can’t bring herself to actually worry about the future. she’s very much the type of person to live in the moment and not make many plans

one of her aunts died during the last war and she can see that it’s bringing up a lot of bad memories for her mum and aunts so that has her even more concerned about what’s to come. and tho she knows that prue is much more likely to be able to defend herself than penelope ever will be, having studied both self-defence and martial art classes together with one of their family friends, she still can’t help but be terrified of what could happen to her because she doesn’t have magic to protect herself with

family and romance are pretty much everything to penelope, so she’s really lucky that she can sneak down to hogsmeade and visit some of them when she feels like it. as much as she enjoys a good party, her dream evening is spent playing board games with her family at madame puddifoot’s with an endless supply of ice cream and sweets

penelope cannot lie. at all. whatsoever. secrets??? don’t know them. she gets it from her mother. she’s really nice but most of her older friends and family members have likely learnt at this point not to trust her with the important stuff

she really does mean well tho she just likes starting up conversations with others and things slip out

tends to be pretty irresponsible in some ways, mostly with her studies — kind of goes along with her living in the moment thing and inability to properly plan for things. most of assignments end up being written in the middle of the night or turned in late, and though she gets along well with most of her professors, that does sour the relationship there

so rox is a seer tho it took her a while to really figure it out. as a kid they started out as nightmares, and her parents took her to healers and such to figure it out and she got prescribed some medicine to help her sleep properly since at first it seemed like some sort of nightmare disorder. and like it worked for a while which was nice!!! only after they started happening when she was awake and she was like gr8 i'm losing my mind. but then she figured it out and she's just.... no. does not want to deal it, will not deal with it. general attitude towards it is if you ignore it enough it will go away + alcohol can numb all sorts of problems which,,, yikes.

in general the visions aren't really that clear and easy to understand and tbh rox puts in Zero effort to understand them. like honestly zero. she's like well i'm gonna drink until i forget about this one and then i will move on like nothing happened!!! and it's usually only after the fact that her visions click for her and it's like so that's what it meant or this is familiar. and this happened with a vision relating to harry's death, and it was only after it that she was like oh

so she's like okay i'm just gonna not mention this ever and add it to the list of reasons why i hate myself!! can't reverse that decision
