It always gets me when the Emperor says, "I'm glad you think so. I did my best," in response to the player saying they couldn't have done it without his help. He doesn't need your approval... but I think it makes him feel good regardless. That someone recognizes his part in saving the city. His city. And there's something so endearingly human about him feeling the need to tell us he did his best.
