@willandtheblackkeys
I truly think that you always have to be on look out for those.
You’re an optimist... gross... I’m teasing, kinda.
I mean… yeah. That’s all I was thinking. So be glad it’s not that, right? Always a silver lining.
Yeah, you’re right. Silver lining.
Oh please, I’m sure your sister would love to listen to you talk about it – but if not, I’ll listen to you. My brothers don’t have any kids – all five of ‘em so I’m basically wandering alone with two kids by myself right now. Zoe, she’s nearly two now, but she was quite a hassle when she was a wee one. When she was about 5 months old she did a very similar thing to your Elliott. My boy, Liam, he’s about 7 months now, and he’s getting into the phase of blowing bubbles with his mouth and laughing at himself. -grins- You know, the secret of all parents is – our kids don’t know we have no fuckin’ clue what we’re doing so we just keep trying our best.
I’m sure she wouldn’t mind, but I feel bad bothering her. Oh wow, you have two little ones. It’s good t’ know that he’s not alone in the not blinking stage. It’s just so weird, though, and it’s strange that he’s developing into a person that can do such strange things right before my eyes. Oh, that’s absolutely true. I got t’ watch my sister with her kids, so that helped a bit, but there are so many things I didn’t know about until we had Elliott.
I thought you said once or twice a month at first and I nearly had a heart attack. I think once or twice a minute is okay, though – while slightly abnormal, it doesn’t seem too bad.
If my son only blinked once or twice a month, I would be extremely concerned and I would take him to a doctor immediately.
I — wow, how… long is ‘forever’, though?
He blinks once or twice a minute... doesn’t see like it’s enough. But what do I know...
When my daughter was younger, she used to stare at me while she was sleeping. My son still does it since he’s still quite young. It’s really, really weird. Newborns are the weirdest creatures on this planet, no matter what anyone says. I still find it hard to believe that civilization has survived this long, you know? I mean, I love my kids with all my heart but – let’s be really honest here, they’re really really weird.
Well thank god it’s normal. An’ usually I’d talk t’ my sister ‘bout it, but she’s busy at work n’ such. Plus, I feel like I bother her with too many questions about Elliott. Babies are honestly so weird. He’s ‘bout four n’ a half months old, which is still incredible t’ me that I can keep another human alive. An’ even more remarkable that he seems t’ like me.
It’s pretty normal.
Babies are weird. I’m sorry for the heart attack though. That shouldn’t have happened.
Babies really are weird. An’ since he’s my first, anythin’ that seems outta the ordinary gives me a feckin’ heart attack.
Elliott is tryin’ this new thing where he jus’ doesn’t blink for what seems like forever.
I have no idea if that’s normal or not.
@lotsoflottie: cool weather means cool sweaters.
“I wanna take him home,” Fee whispered – kissing Elliott’s forehead. Rosie laughed, rustling her sweet son’s hair. “Fee, we have Allie we have to take care of – remember? Besides, Uncle Will is quite smitten with Elliott himself and I think we should let him keep him. Shouldn’t we Will?”
Will chuckled and kissed his nephew’s cheek. “If I let you take him home, your Auntie Lotsie won’t be happy with me,” he told Fee. “Maybe you can take the next baby home with you,” In a few years when we decide to have another.
rosalindbyanyothername:
“Will, you realize that my son is trying to steal your son right now, right?”
“I’m well aware,” he laughed.
I will never understand how she manages to make herself seem so unassuming to outsiders. Of course, I don’t understand how anyone ever takes their eyes off of her in the first place, so maybe I’m not the best of judges, eh? [nods] I don’t think there’s a danger of Allie forgetting you–we showed her some pictures of you yesterday and she got so excited that she cried when she realized you weren’t really with us. Under her ruthless, cereal-abusing exterior beats a soft heart, I think.
I have no idea how she does either. Rosie is anythin’ but innocent. But you took that t’ another level. I can take my eyes off’er. *shakes his head a little* Oh my sweet Allie... Maybe Lottie and I can take her and Fee off your hands one night.
Don't you test me though, just because I play the piano, doesn't mean I am not willing to take you down.
Will Kelley (probably)
Will, are you forgetting the Rosie we both grew up with? She’s probably grooming Allie for the position at this point. But I am being careful who I share the information with, of course. Wouldn’t do to cast suspicion on myself–right now I’m valuable personnel for some inexplicable reason, can’t take the chance I’ll be replaced. [laughs] Maybe? Are you doubting my daughter’s potential to be a global dictator? I think I’m offended.
No, o’ course not. Rosie who my da thinks is his precious lass who never did a bad thing in her life? *laughs* Ah, smart man. We wouldn’t want that, now would we? It’s best t’ stay neutral in all things. *smiles* Oh, never. I wouldn’t doubt Allie. S’ long as she remembers her favourite uncle, we’re golden.
I think she feels that we’re not taking her seriously enough and must therefore force us into paying her the proper amount of attention. I hope to god she never joins the military, because she will most certainly rise up through the ranks and become a dictator. I suppose she will be kind but firm like her mother and we shall have no choice but to submit. [shrugs] Oh, well, there are worse things.
I hope you aren’t telling my sister your theories about how your daughter will take over the world and be a totalitarian dictator? But she’s adorable, so maybe.
