It was a simple enough idea; screw around with the resident bastard of Class 1-A to let him know that his medieval ways and perverted behaviour weren't going to be tolerated by even the most career-focused of UA's students.
To say that things had snowballed was an understatement.
Todoroki had no idea how he had ended up sitting on Bakugou's floor at 1 am, holding a dossier of incriminating material that would make the FBI slobber, but he wasn't sure he wanted to know.
The long and short of it was, fuck Mineta.
2.✸ Worth a thousand words - 43k -
When a rare picture of Bakugou smiling leads Class 3A to believe he is in a relationship with Utsushimi Camie, a contest arises to see who can get the most pictures of the couple together.

“Umm,” Midoriya said nervously. “I-it’s Kacchan. There is always a spark.”
With another round of boos from Kaminari and Jirou, Ashido took a page out of Mineta’s playbook and started shaking Midoriya violently. “I mean like a romantic spark!”
Midoriya blanched. “You think Kacchan is interested in Utsushimi?”
He seemed doubtful, so Ashido shoved Kirishima’s phone in his face. “Do you see this smile? That is the smile of boy who is head-over-heels smitten, am I right?”
Midoriya actually took the time to look at the picture critically, though he shot an uneasy look towards Kirishima before he answered. “Umm, y-yeah,” he said as he started to back away, hiding behind Uraraka like a shield. “It definitely looks like Kacchan is in love.”
How could Kirishima have been so stupid?
3. ✸A secret admirer - 61k - Someone at Yuuei was pining after Bakugou.
Well - Kirishima forced down a blush that threatened to overtake him - someone else at Yuuei was also pining after Bakugou.
Bakugou Katsuki has a secret admirer and the class of 1-A is desperate to figure out who it could possibly be.

"Yeah, but you already knew that."
Bakugou and Kirishima have graduated from UA and are starting their adult lives. For some unknown reason, they decided to live together. For some even more mysterious unknown reason, it's actually going really well. That is, until a bad day at work makes Bakugou desperate to fix the mistake.
5. ✸Kokoronashi - 197k - It started the way you fall asleep: slowly, then all at once. There wasn’t a single moment of realization for Katsuki Bakugou, no specific point on his mind’s map that he could point to and say, “There! That’s when it happened.” As with all people, he was constantly developing, feelings coming and going, some fading into obscurity, others growing into a deafening crescendo that took over his thoughts, kept him up at night, spread a particularly spectacular brand of ache through him. Slowly, then all at once.

Eijirou has a horrible on and off relationship with his girlfriend and is constantly buying her flowers to try and make her love him.
Katsuki works at a flower shop and has the sweetest five year old who adores the pretty redhead that keeps stopping by.

9. ✸No better feeling - 72k -
Dressed in hockey gear, the guy was quite a bit taller than Katsuki even without the skates, and a good bit broader as well. Must be one of the defensive players, if Katsuki’s limited knowledge of the shitty sport served him right. Not very aerodynamic, he thought with an internal scoff. The guy had warm eyes that were smiling down at Katsuki in tandem with a mouth full of sharp teeth, and ridiculous dyed red hair spiked up high off his head. The lecture Katsuki had ready for him was abandoned.
“How the fuck are you going to put your helmet on with your hair like that?” Is what left his mouth instead.

10. ✸✦The Reef - 90k - “Wait… so I was pulled off of a shark project to work with predatory merfolk?” Kirishima blinked slowly. That couldn’t be right.
Mina smiled sweetly. “No, honey. You were pulled off of a shark project to work with him.” She pointed towards the tank.
Turning his head to look towards the tank his heart dropped into his stomach. The fins poking out of the water said it all. Predator. Power… Shark. “Tiger shark.”
11. ✸✦Crimson pools - 149k - Sometimes life doesn’t always go as planned. And sometimes, you find yourself entering a world you never thought possible and falling into deep, crimson pools.
With the decision to leave behind his little hometown, Kirishima set himself on a journey he had not expected. His love for the ocean and his passion for all things Marine leads him to the wonders of a Research Facility of his dreams.
From the moment his new life begins, he is thrown into the Marine world in a way he had never known before and at the center of it all is one very angry Bakugou Katsuki.

12. ✸Between the devil and the deep, blue sea - 92k -
The UA Aquarium is the only facility with a mermaid program, which meant it was the only facility Katsuki Bakugo wanted to work at. After achieving his first dream, his second of gaining a mermaid companion wasn't so simple. However, one fateful night he aids in the rescue of a peculiar mermaid who later becomes Katsuki's partner.
The two work together to heal, laugh, and learn to love again.

Love at first sight, huh.
Katsuki puts the pieces together. “Denki did mention something about you having high standards.”
That makes Eijirou’s face light up like a Christmas tree. He’s almost as red as his hair. “Uh. He told you that?” he squeaks.
Katsuki frowns. “Is it not true?”
Eijirou presses his lips together, sucks in a quick breath. Then he looks at Katsuki, eyes travelling slowly across his face, as if he’s committing his expression to memory. It’s cryptic. It almost seems to last forever.
But just as quickly as it starts, it ends. Eijirou’s eyes are back on the road.
“Yeah,” he admits. “It’s true.”
After ending a long-term relationship, Katsuki decides it’s time to live a little.
14. ✸Communicate with your body - 130k -
"Hey! Wake up you piece of shit! Are you alive?!"
The man winces and scrunches his face in pain but Bakugou continued to hold him in place.
Piercing red eyes flutter open and gaze lazily straight at Bakugou's face and Bakugou feels his heart skip a beat.

Kirishima brings up Bakugou one day as he and Kaminari are eating together in the campus cafeteria. Super casual, like yeah-I-saw-this-guy-on-TV-once, and not I’ve-watched-literally-every-single-interview-he’s-ever-even-been-in-the-background-of-and-wouldn’t-mind-having-his-babies.
“Oh, him,” Kaminari says. “Eh, he’s popular lately, I guess. Don’t see what all the hype's about.”
Kirishima feels lightheaded. “You—you don’t see the hype—” he splutters. “He’s incredible, dude.”
16. ✸Chef's kiss - 132k - Kirishima goes on a series of really bad dates at the same restaurant 'Explosion'.
The dates are noticed by the staff, particularly by the head chef and owner of the establishment.
16. ✸You're alive but not living - 130k -
Kirishima is a struggling single parent. Bakugo offers him support and his life back.
When you have to sacrifice who you are, you just need a family to love you.

17.⨳ Never and always, eventually - 213k -
"Katsuki can remember the exact moment that he and Deku…that he and Midoriya Izuku became friends. He can also remember the moment he and Izuku became fierce rivals, a time when they were almost enemies.
However, what he remembers most clearly about their relationship is the moment that they moved passed rivals and became something more close than mere friends. Something more like brotherhood, something forged in fire and secured in the middle of a battlefield or in the midst of natural disaster where the number of the dead was climbing ever higher. They’re professionals who are both strict when it comes to separating their work and their personal lives–and yet the best kiss they’ve ever had was with each other during their first day of taping.

Sero nods. “It’s the chance of a lifetime, really,” he says. “We want you to date Bakugou, for the sake of his reputation with the press. Some public appearances, a few ‘candid’ photos. For at least a couple of months.”
“Bakugou sent you to ask me to date him?” Kirishima asks, baffled.
“Of course not. We, his people, are asking you to date him. He’s going to have to get on board, if he wants his career to survive. And in the bargain, Riot will get all sorts of publicity, because their lyricist will be dating one of the industry’s hottest stars. A win for everyone.”
When Kirishima Eijirou's band hits the big time, he's not prepared for his newfound fame. He's even less prepared to meet the actor he's been crushing on for years, or to start dating him as a publicity stunt. The closer Kirishima gets to Bakugou Katsuki, the more he realizes he's in over his head. But it's hard to stop, once his heart is in it.

"Ei, shut up a second," Katsuki sighed softly, reaching out to cup Eijirou's face as the guy grinned through the light tears cascading down his face. "Why are you like this, huh? What kind of pent-up feelings do you have in there that make you cry at the smallest things when you're with me?"
"I'm just...really happy that I'm happy," Eijirou murmured, trying to wipe at his eyes but Katsuki pushed his hand away and did it himself. "B-Because I'm so happy, I'm so happy that it doesn't feel real. I live this perfect life with a perfect education and a perfect future career and perfect classmates and friends and a perfect best friend, I- what did I do to deserve it?"
"You deserved it by being the perfect one in the first place, dimwit. No-one else holds a candle to you."

21. ✸Kirishima's cocktails - 176k - Bakugo owns a failing bar, Kirishima helps make it into something special.
22. ✸The saltwater room - 140k - Between his job, studies as a veterinary student, and roommates, Katsuki Bakugou doesn't have much time to himself.
But, when he does, he likes to spend that time surfing.
AKA The fic where Bakugou saves an injured merman he finds at the secret beach spot he uses to surf then decides the best place to hide him is in his own bathtub. Hiding the creature from his friends is surprisingly easy but things get more complicated when others start to look for the living piece of folklore that likes to eat still frozen pizza rolls.

When Bakugo and Kirishima get hit by a quirk that forces them to literally stick together or face the less then desirable consequences, how the fuck is Bakugo supposed to keep his crush hidden?!

25. ✸a heart swelled to bursting - 49k - The summer training camp of Bakugou's second year at UA descends upon him with all the untamed fury of- well, himself, honestly.

26. ✸acceptance and denial - 33k - It all goes okay when Kirishima decides to come out to his friends and it all goes wrong when decides that Bakugou is the best fake boyfriend material.
27.✸ Not spring, love or cherry blossoms - 37k - Baku-bro [9:19pm]: I think fake dating could work, but not if I brought just anyone home. My parents would know it was a fucking lie right away.
Eijirou was starting to piece it together. Oh fuck.

In order to avoid a Quirk marriage, Bakugou goes to Kirishima for help.
28. ✸Not waving but drowning - 38k - "This is for the best."
"I know."
"It is. I promise. It'll all be okay now. Everything will be okay now."
When class 1-a move into the dormitories, Bakugou has a horrifying realisation about his home life, forcing the self-proclaimed Bakusquad to band together to prove that he has everything he needs in that packed, happy, loud building.
29. ✸Wisdom teeth - 50k - “What happened to Blasty?” Shinsou asks, taking a sip of his drink. He eyes the way Bakugou is drooling onto Kirishima’s shoulder. “Holy shit, is he drunk?’
“No, he’s not drunk,” he replies, hoisting his friend a little higher so he can get a better grip around his thighs. Bakugou must notice the movement because he buries his face further into Kirishima neck. Oh fuck, his lips are touching his skin and his breath is so h- stop that. “He had his teeth out.”
Kirishima takes care of a very spaced-out Bakugou after he has his wisdom teeth pulled.
30. ✸second place (because you're always first to me) - 51k -
No, really. Kirishima didn't mind too much, he was used to it. He never really liked standing out. In middle school, he tried to be more outgoing, but there was nothing too special about dark black hair and a not-so-flashy hardening quirk. With the extensive amount of effort he put in, Kirishima even managed to place second during the U.A. entrance exam, and that was more than enough for him. Changing himself didn’t work either because even with red hair and a new persona, it wasn't like he suddenly became number one.
That spot belonged to Bakugou. Confident, brash, explosive. The boy who glowed so brightly to him. First at the entrance exam. First in the sports festival. First in everything.
Especially to Kirishima.

31. ✸Outshining the sun - 58k -
It's the end of the semester, and UA has decided that class 2A needs a vacation after all they've been through.
Two weeks at the beach with his classmates sounds like a drag to Bakugou, but with Kirishima's begging, he decides to take part in the trip. He didn't realize that spending so much time with his redheaded friend would lead to him having to confront some uncomfortable truths that he tried to keep hidden, even from himself.
And Kirishima is just trying to keep himself together.
32. ✸The fools rush - 40k - Settling down with each other is naturally what comes after being dorm neighbors for years. It’s time to navigate through adulthood together, to live the daily grind of being pro-heroes, to learn more than they thought they’d like to know about each other, about themselves.
Or how Bakugou and Kirishima find a way to call each other “home” and struggle with the realization that once all their bills are on auto-pay, the only thing they still have to deal with is this pit full of feelings they have ignored for too long.
33. ✸Cause the dark's not taking prisoners tonight - 52k -
“Are those soba noodles?” Kirishima asked.
Again Bakugou’s only reply was a grunt. He offered no further explanation—not that Kirishima honestly expected one—as though making soba noodles from scratch at half past four in the morning wasn’t at all a bizarre occurrence and made complete and total sense. For a fleeting moment, Kirishima even wondered if maybe he was the odd one here. Besides, he’d already decided it was generally not in his best interest to question these types of things with Bakugou, especially when it was something essentially harmless.
When Kirishima has a nightmare and is unable to fall back asleep, he accepts defeat and decides to study in the common area of the dorms. What he doesn't expect to find is Bakugou, also very much awake, and Kirishima can't help but think that maybe they're both having the same problems with sleeping. If he's worried, it's just because they're friends. (Right?)
34. ✸Sweet nothings - 34k - Yet, at night, when the world was silent, he always found himself thinking about him. In the stillness, he reflected on them. That was the thing he hated about being 25: the inability to understand and control his thoughts. Hours would slip by as he wandered through imaginary scenarios that sent electricity through his body and warmed his sheets. He painted an idealized picture of his friend, one that existed solely to appease his heart and give him the fleeting sense of comfort he craved.
35. ✸The power of friendship - 62k -
Bakugou frowned when he saw Tokoyami and Shouji watching him oddly. "What?" He demanded.
"I thought you didn't like being around anyone, except maybe Kirishima," Tokoyami said simply. "Sorry for assuming. You should hang out more often."
Bakugou blinked, surprised. "I...what?"
Shouji nodded. "I'm sorry too, I had thought the same thing." One of his appendages smiled and Bakugou stared at the teeth.
Had he just made more friends? Was friendship contagious? Once you made one friend, was that automatically the go-ahead for other people to be your friend?
"You want to hang out with me?"
36. ✸Waiting for graduation - 71k - Bakugou is a prime alpha who is convinced his alpha best friend, Kirishima, would never accept his courting.
Kirishima is a male omega trying his best to hide it while silently having the biggest crush on his alpha best friend, Bakugou.
When Kirishima’s suppressants failed him, the omega found himself faced with the obligation to reveal who he truly is.
37. ✸Broken bridges - 68k -
After years of working abroad, Kirishima moves back to Japan to open his own agency, and things seem to be going well. There’s plenty of work, he gains popularity quickly, and it’s a relief to be back in his home country. Everything is perfect, until he runs into Bakugou on the scene of a villain attack.
Bakugou had been his best friend at U.A., but the two of them haven’t spoken for years. That had been Bakugou’s decision, not Kirishima’s, and he's still a little hurt by it. Regardless, it’s easy to put that aside in favor of rekindling his friendship with Bakugou. They fall back into a routine and it’s as if nothing has changed; including Kirishima’s old feelings for his best friend.
When a new pair of villains starts picking off heroes one by one, Kirishima feels that he and Bakugou are the best heroes to take the case. All the extra time they spend together hunting villains is great, except Kirishima feels like his heart is being ripped out every time Bakugou looks at him.
38. ✸gingernut chai with a hint of caramel - 67k -
"Katsuki stares at the pill in his hand.
Why was this so fucking hard?
Why couldn’t he do it?
Maybe a pup wouldn’t be so bad.
No. He couldn’t do it. He didn’t even want pups"
In which, Katsuki gets pregnant and spirals.
39. ✸the looking glass self - 67k -
Bakugo let himself taste a little of the hard-won peace he so often struggled to accept.
And if Bakugo could oblige the belief that he was worthy, then perhaps Kirishima could also face all of the things he told himself he'd never be ready for.
When it came to falling in love with his best friend, Kirishima probably could've done with two pieces of advice: Be nice until it's time to not be nice. And you can't be everything you want to be before your time. But wisdom often comes when it can no longer do any good, so it's Bakugo who winds up beating him to the punch.
(Kirishima is hit with a classic case of 'when you know, you know' but admitting it is a different story.)
40. ✸lemons and strawberries - 68k - A collection of short stories revolving around the relationship between Bakugou Katsuki and Kirishima Eijirou, chock full of fluff, both canonverse and alternate, meddling friends, and falling for each other.
”You’re more than a best friend,” Katsuki said with a click of his teeth, sounding almost disappointed. “I fucking love you, don’t I?”
“Let’s go back inside,” Eijirou murmured, and Katsuki’s eyes softened. “Let’s talk. Complain about our days. Kiss each other where it hurts.”
“Later, I just want you.”
Thinking of Kirishima, his equal, his best friend, the guy who fucking lit up his life, the guy with hidden strength that Katsuki clearly saw which made him want to motivate the idiot to go further, get stronger; that guy being his other half? Perfect. Where was the catch?
41. ✸2am knows all secrets - 80k -
... It wasn't that he was annoyed.
Okay, maybe he was a bit annoyed, but that was just the lack of sleep talking. Because a certain explosive punk thought it was a good idea to test the flammability of his sheets at two in the morning. Every single morning.
In which Bakugou's quirk wakes Kirishima up, and Kirishima gets way too invested in his bro's well-being.
42. ✸Blindside - 98k - “You’re the first guy friend I’ve had that I can just like, be friends with. You’re either the most unthirstiest boy ever...” Camie shrugged and made another wobbly illusion appear between her hands. It looked like a sparkly rainbow with the word ‘friendship’ beneath it, accompanied by what Bakugou assumed was supposed to be a twinkling sound effect, but it had a tinny quality to it and sounded far away. “...or I just ain’t got the kinda straw you like to ssssip.”
Carefully, Bakugou considered the strange turn this conversation had taken.
He had never been asked, point blank, if he was gay before. And he honestly had never thought about how he would respond. Lying about himself didn’t sit right with him. But he’d always wanted to wait until he was the number one hero - when he stood above everyone else - before coming out. Though he’d had times when he’d thought about doing it before then and had almost gone through with it once. But being the number one hero came first. It wouldn’t matter what people would say about it then as long as he’d risen to the top.
Bakugou knew his lack of a response would give Camie all the answers she needed.
43.✸ So good it hurts - 114k - Kirishima and Bakugo never really had a chance to experiment and date when they were younger. As Pro-Heroes it doesnt get much easier.
A playful competition quickly treads into new territory that they're only willing to discover with each other.
44.✸ I told you so - 105k - Izuku shoved the phone back into his pocket and began to run out. “The other new teacher should be here any minute! Text me if you have any questions! I’ll see you later!”
“Wait, Deku!” The door shut, making Katsuki’s mouth snap closed. He wasn’t the only newbie. He put his head in his hands and tried to contain the uncertainty bubbling in him.
“Bakugou?” A voice called across the room.
Katsuki knew that voice in an instant. “Kirishima?” He asked the question before he even turned around to look at Kirishima. He looked exactly like he did the last time that Katsuki saw him, except that he had aged like a fine wine. He still had that red spiky hair and the same stupid, shirtless hero costume. Katsuki couldn't even remember the last time they were in a room together. What was that? Seven– no eight years ago?

OR: At Aizawa's request, Katsuki becomes the new homeroom teacher for class 1-A. He isn't expecting the new class B teacher to be Kirishima, the man he used to be in love with in high school, who's been overseas for the last eight years.
45.✸ In time - 136k - When Kirishima Eijirou, or better known, Red Riot finally returns home after 8 years overseas, Bakugou Katsuki isn't prepared to see his old friend. After being forced into going to Kirishima's welcome home party, Bakugou struggles.
Kirishima learns that the person he left behind all those years ago isn't the person in front of him anymore. The fiery blonde, still loud and obnoxious, but there was a different air to him, one that Kirishima never thought he would see.
Bakugou Katsuki was no longer the 18-year-old boy Kirishima remembers, he was a fully grown man with his own skeletons in the closet.
46.✸ Seven years of summer - 109k -
"Katsuki was leaning his head against the car window, cheek pressed against the plastic body of the door, feeling the vibrations reverberate in his skull. He didn't want to be there. He didn't want to be stuck in the car for hours and hours only to arrive in a half deserted village in the middle of nowhere where probably only old people lived.
[...] He didn't care about nature, he didn't care about rivers, mountain animals or stupid old trees.
He wanted to stay at home, where every normal ten year old kid was spending the summer."
Or how Bakugo Katsuki, a lonesome and surly city boy, spends seven summer breaks in the mountains he will grow to hold close to his heart. And where, waiting for him, he always finds Eijirou, with his messy dark hair, carefree smile, sun-burned skin and wide eyes full of wonder. His opposite in almost every visible way, but who maybe understands him more than Katsuki could ever imagine.
47. ✸Codominance - 125k -
Dynamight and Red Riot are some of the top pro heroes in Japan, and that is why they are called in for a raid mission. The raid was supposed to be easy enough. Get in, restrain the villains, don't let anyone escape. That is... until they discovered what the villains were doing in the base.
Codominance is a relationship between two versions of a gene. Individuals receive one version of a gene, called an allele, from each parent. If the alleles are different, the dominant allele usually will be expressed, while the effect of the other allele, called recessive, is masked. In codominance, however, neither allele is recessive and the phenotypes of both alleles are expressed.

Bakugou makes a couple assumptions without a lot of thought: that he’s straight, that he’s a top, that he can dominate his best friend platonically.
(Okay, so he does put some thought into that last one. A lot actually. Just not the being-a-dom part.)
As it turns out, none of these assumptions are true.
49. ✸Tonight, we're the sea - 60k - Kirishima goes to a quiet seaside town to take care of his grandmother after she has a bad fall. There he meets Bakugou Katsuki and falls in love.
