Honestly seeing demonstrations of how smart and strategic Frederick Douglass was is kind of like reading Shakespeare and being like “wow that was really good” lol. Like he has this legacy as a man who was extremely intelligent and savvy despite the odds being against him and like sensible people know that’s the truth but when you see his mindset and such discussed like this it hits different than just intellectually knowing. You can better appreciate it.

Also Lincoln and Grant would be disgusted at the current GOP but if Frederick Douglass like smited them from the heavens I would NOT blame him.
