The Nanny [pt.4]
Masterlist
Word Count: 2,305
The time was 7:15 A.M. and you were unlocking the door to the Aizawa household with a large coffee in hand. Today marked the eighth week that you had been nannying for the family. Two whole months. The kids had grown to love you and your work had began to be easier and easier as the days past.
“Good morning, sunshines!” You said as you entered the house. The door was left open, however, when you processed the scene you had walked in on.
The house was cluttered in mess and torn up papers across the floors. Despite you leaving with the house spotless yesterday, somehow it had turned into a wasteland. All three of the family members were running around yelling at each other with their heads towards the ground.
“Wha-” you began before being cut off as the family stopped to welcome you.
“Y/N! Thank whatever being above you’re here. Are you good with cats?” Shinso asked as he gripped your shoulders and stared into your eyes. Sweat dripped down his forehead and you stuttered an answer.
“I-uhm yes? I have a cat.”
“Great! Eri wanted a cat and Dad took her yesterday after you left to get one. It’s been running wild. I stepped in shit this morning. Literal shit. Like a big heaping pile of-”
“Shinso, I think she gets it!” Shouta said as he rubbed ibis forehead. His hair was tied back in a bun and sweat glistened on his forehead. You had to admit that this wasn’t a bad look for the man. Especially in that button up that with the top four buttons undone….
You blushed and shook the thoughts out of your head and sat your stuff down at the table. Wiping your sweaty palms on your jeans, you walked to the kitchen and searched the cabinets for the good stuff.
You smiled and grabbed the can and walked around the house wafting the scent when you heard a little meow from behind the entertainment center.
“Aha! Found you.” You whispered before setting down the can and leaning back to wait. Not even a minute later, a little, grey fur ball peaked its head out and sniffed the can before quickly devouring the substance.
Awes were heard behind you as little footsteps walked up to you. Eri softly sat herself in your lap and watched the cat chow down. Eri sniffed the air and scrunched her nose at the smell.
“Is that fishy?” She asked as she leaned back to look at you. The disgust on her face made a chuckle escape your chest.
“Tuna. My cat loves the stuff. It’s her favorite.” You said as you moved her beside you. You walked over and picked up the cat and brought the can along with you. “Have you named him?”
“I was thinking about Sparkle!” Eri said as she jumped up and spun with her hands thrown in the air.
“No way! He needs a cool name. Like Lancelot or Bones.” Shinso said as he moved to pet the fluff ball.
“He’s too chunky to have a cool name.” Shouta said from behind you. You turned your head to give him a glare, but the realization that you were looking up at him from over your shoulder made a blush reappear on your cheeks. You quickly turned your head and redirected your attention to the cat.
“Yeah, he is a little, chubby fella.” You said with a nervous laugh.
Eri gasped as she reached up to take the cat from your arms. She held him close to her face while he hung limp in her arms and meowed softly and licked his lips.
“That’s it, Y/N! His name should be Chubs!” She exclaimed as she looked at the three of you with big eyes.
Shinso sighed from beside you and threw a hand behind his neck. “Chubs. I dig it. Definitely suits him.”
Shouta reached around you and took the tuna from your hands while placing the other on your waist. The touch made your breath catch in your throat and you held it until the tuna was out of your hands and Shouta had walked around you to Eri.
“Chubs it is.” He said as he patted her head. “But right now, I think it’s time for you two to get ready for school.”
As he finished, Eri kisses Chubs in the head before handing him back to me, then took off running to her room.
You chuckled as you watched her leave and turned around to find your nose about to press into a chest. Looking up, your eyes met deep grey ones.
It seems the red in your face was going to stay for a while. How humiliating.
The sound of a throat clearing tore you away from those mesmerizing eyes as you turned your head to Shinso.
“Well, I’m going to leave on that note. You two stay out of trouble while the chaperones are gone.” He said before winking and walking away.
At least now you aren’t the only one who’s red.
Shouta closed his eyes and shook his head as he stuck his tongue to the inside of his cheek.
Hot.
“Well, let’s let Chubs finish his breakfast. I’m so sorry he’s made such a mess for you to pick up.” He said as we walked to the kitchen together.
I quickly brushed his comment off. “Don’t worry about it. I’m familiar with cats making a mess. Besides, what would I do here all day if I didn’t have a mess or two to pick up?”
“I have no idea what we would do without you, Y/N.” Shouta said as he put the tuna in the cat dish. I placed Chubs down and pet him a bit before looking back up to Shouta.
“And your little family has really become the best part of my day, so I don’t know what I’d do without you guys either!” You said and smiled up at him.
A small, fond smile tugged at the corners of Shouta’s lips before he reached out a hand to help you stand. “I have a proposal for you.”
You tilted your head before biting you lip to hide your laugh. “Easy there. You haven’t even asked me on a date yet.” The smile pushed past your lips as you waited for him to catch up.
“Oh, I see what you did there.”
“Come on, that one was funny.”
“Hilarious.” He said before dropping your hand finally. He sucked in a breath before speaking again. “How would you like to move in?”
You were sure he could hear the gears turn in your head as you contemplated his words.
“I’d make the date joke again, but I think it might be even more inappropriate now.”
He chuckled before elaborating. “I think it would be a lot easier on you and the kids. You’d be a live in nanny. Your pay would remain the same, you wouldn’t have to worry about rent or groceries and the kids would love to have you around more. They are crazy about you. God knows the house needs you here to keep it from falling apart.”
Your eyes softened as you listened to his very convincing offer. However…
“But I have a cat….and….a very stupid bird.” You said as your forehead creased in thought.
“You have a bird? Since when?” He asked as Shinso and Eri came walking down the hall towards the kitchen.
“Uh, it’s complicated.” You said as your thoughts shifted to the bird man who was probably still tucked away asleep in between your sheets.
You didn’t miss the confusion on Shouta’s face as you turned to the kids.
“You guys look great! How does a smoothie and jelly toast sound for Eri and bacon and toast for Shinso?” You asked as you straightened the tutu Eri had thrown on top of her purple leggings.
After earning confirmation from the kids, you turned to Shouta, and without thinking, you began to button up his shirt to help him get dressed as well.
You didn’t faulted even when you realized your actions. And you definitely didn’t miss the glint in his eyes as he watched your face. You didn’t dare look up at him until you had finished and stepped back.
You cleared your throat before finally meeting his eyes. “Black coffee and a banana?” You recited his usual breakfast.
With a nod from the man, you jumped to start on breakfast.

You sat in the car line to drop Shinso off when he cleared his throat.
“So, you and my dad, huh?”
You glanced at the boy before moving up in the line.
“What do you mean?” You asked. Silence greeted you as you waited for a reply.
“Awe hell,” he said before turning to you in his seat. “Are you and my dad having….relations?”
“What do you mean by relations?” You chuckled and turned to him again. His eyes widened as he reached out and grabbed your hand.
“I need you to tell me now, and put me down gently, are you and my dad fucking?”
“What?!” You screamed and jerked your hand away, causing you to slap your horn, triggering a fit of rage from the parents in line who began to honk back.
You turned to the boy and held your hand as you gritted your teeth.
“One, you can’t just ask someone if they are fucking your father and two, where the hell did you get that idea? Your dad is my boss!”
“That doesn’t mean you guys haven’t fucked! I heard him asking you to move in this morning!”
“Yes! He did! So I could be a full time, live in nanny for you guys! Not because of relations!”
Shinso threw his hands up in defeat as he rested back against his seat. You turned your attention back to the traffic as silence fell over the car once again.
“You know, if you do decide to move in,” Shinso broke the quiet, “your bedroom would be beside dads.”
You remained silent, not letting him have any suspicions.
“And right across from mine.”
“Yeah, I don’t think I’ll move in then.”
“Oh come on!”

“Okay, so now all you have to do on this one is find the hypotenuse.” You said as you stood over Shinso at the kitchen island. You were multitasking dinner and helping the teen with his math homework.
“I remember how to do that. Thanks, Y/N.” He said as he began to work it out. You smiled and hummed in reply, turning back to the hamburger steak you were frying. The sizzle was so loud, you didn’t hear the clicking of the lock on the front door. Thumping came rushing down the hall as the top of Eri’s head appeared above the surface of the counter.
“Daddy!” She yelled, jumping into her fathers arms. He caught her and twirled her around before hoisting her up onto his shoulders. She held onto the top of his head as he came into the kitchen.
“Something smells amazing.” He said as he ruffled his sons hair and walked over to peak over your shoulder at the meal you were preparing. You turned your head and tried to ignore his presence, but quickly failed as his hand came to rest on your waist for the second time that day.
Cue the blushing.
You cleared your throat and flipped the steaks. “You’re home early.” You commented as you looked at the clock.
Shouta released your waist and stepped back to walk to the fridge. Grabbing a head of lettuce, he began to wash it off. “Yeah, I didn’t have patrol tonight. I must have forgotten to mention that.”
You smiled as you watched him begin chopping up the lettuce for a salad, you assumed.
“Well, we are happy to have you join us!” You said as Eri came up and hugged your legs from behind.
“Very happy!”

You all sat at the dinner table and talked about each other’s days as you all ate. The atmosphere was nice and warm. It left butterflies bursting in your stomach as you watched the family interact.
You had sat beside Eri so you could help her cut her steak. This little particular action had caught Shouta’s eye. He watched as you interacted with his daughter and couldn’t help the smile that took over his face. Eri giggled at something you said and the smile on the both of your faces elicited a warm feeling to erupt in his chest.
Shinso’s eyes shifted from his dad to you and Eri as he leaned back in his chair knowingly. The gears in his head began to turn as he schemed up a plan.
“So, Dad, is there something you wanted to ask Y/N?” He asked as he took a bite of salad.
Shouta was jerked out of his trance as he eyed his son in confusion.
“Ask her what, exactly?”
“If she has decided to move in.”
Eri perked up and gasped before slamming her hands on the table. “Does that mean Y/N is going to be here always?!”
The table fell quiet as you choked on your glass of water and covered it up quickly.
Shouta turned to you and fixed his posture before speaking. “Well, I didn’t think you would have an answer so soon, but if you do…” he finished, leaving the conversation open.
You thought back to Keigo and sighed. It’s not like he’s your boyfriend, right? You’re a big girl. You don’t need his permission.
“I think it would be a good idea. Yes, I would love to move in. But, that’s if you’re okay with having another cat around.”
