“Move Out of my way. I got people to see, places to go”
Winnie stumbled out of the way of the determined girl, and looked at her with distaste. “Looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of their thrown this morning, princess.”
“Dude, you’re gonna have to repeat that for me,” Felix said, looking up at the person from his seat with a glazed look in his eyes. “I’m really out of it right now.”
“I know you’re fucking out of it, dipshit,” Winnie murmured, rolling her eyes. A pang of guilt hit her and she rubbed the back of her neck, refusing to make eye contact with the attractive boy. All of a sudden she was nervous, and her hands twitched, and her voice lowered. “That’s why I'm talking to you. I need a new plug. My guy just got arrested and...” she twitched at the thought, “and I don’t have another hook up in Cali yet. People said I should ask you about it, so...” she glanced up at him, “here I am.”
“No, your eyes do not deceive you. It’s the great Faye Bessin, back at Redwood in the flesh. Now, someone needs to get me drunk immediately, my grandmother is the most boring hag and I had to stay sober for two weeks. I’m dying.”
Winnie smirked; she liked this girl already. “If you know any bars that don’t card I’m totally game. Drizzy snagged my fake the first day on campus,” she rolled her eyes at the thought of the principal. School officials never liked her. “And I’m the completely mediocre - nay, below average - Winnie Griffin, by the way. Nice to meet you.”
Winnie laughed, looking at the ground and kicking rocks. “I just binge watched the last season, actually, so I’m probably more behind than you.”
“Who wants to talk about Game of Thrones?” Even if someone never talked to Valya, it was well known throughout most of the school that she was possibly obsessed with the series. “Wait! I’m not caught up so uh… no spoilers please!”
Winnie laughed, looking at the ground and kicking rocks. “I just binge watched the last season, actually, so I’m probably more behind than you.”
“The next time I go home to visit my mom for the weekend please remind me to take my cat with me or to at least find someone to watch her. I came back and found my room torn apart.”
Winnie looked up from the book she was reading. Usually when she sat alone at a bench no one disturbed her; she guessed it was because she had a resting bitch face and no one was really that nice anymore. But since at Redwood she noticed that nothing about this school was orthodox. The brunette sitting next to her, for instance, seemed way too popular to be talking to a girl like Winnie, and yet here she was, sat next to her, and waiting for the small girl to respond.
“You smell good,” she said, looking back to her book. “Like, warm, if that makes sense. Vanilla, I’d guess”
She looked back up to briefly meet the eyes of Liv. “Don’t stress about the cat, honestly it’s kind of cute when they destroy things. Like they’re searching for you, ya know.”
