Where will my cutter cut?

The biggest issues when you are new with WinPCSIGN is to figure out how the design will be cut the vinyl cutter. Ivan has created a useful video that show every steps of the cutting process, from creating a page to the page cut orientation he cover everything you need to know and how to easily do it with WinPCSIGN.

Many customers had upgraded to Windows 10 and got cutting problems with their GCC vinyl cutter, telling us that they were no longer able to cut their jobs. After, working many hours resolving all the issue we have created this useful setup guide to help you going through Windows 10 upgrade and getting back into production with your GCC vinyl cutter! SignMAX installation & setup guide for all GCC vinyl cutter (Expert, LX , Jaguar, Puma). First step: Install the latest GCC driver for Windows 10 (We recommend to remove the GCC drive before to install the new one) Download driver LX52 Windows 10 Download driver LX24 Windows 10 Second step: After installed GCC Printer driver in your computer, open WinPCSIGN -> Plotter Code -> Port and select Windows Port instead of USB. We have created a video to show you how to configure the GCC driver with WinPCSIGN.

It's Very important to check from Windows /Printer & Fax, if the Expert Printer driver is in USB001 or USB002 port. You also need to check that there are no documents in the printing queue.

Some GCC machine will not work because they need to have same BIT value setting on the computer. Learn how to install GCC driver 32 or 64 Bits We have also created a video to show you how to do a print & cut with a GCC vinyl cutter.

HOW TO IMPORT SIGNMAX FREE LOGOS OF THE WEEK IN WinPCSIGN

Every weeks SignMAX.us offer free vector logos. Perfect for getting ideas on your next design or to save a lot of time by getting vector amazing designs ready to cut with your vinyl cutter or print with your printer. All the logos from SignMAX.us are in EPS format. We choose this format because it's compatible with the most popular vectorial software like: WinPCSIGN, Adobe Illustrator, CorelDraw, FlexiSIGN, Inkscape and many mores...

IMPORT EPS FILES IN WinPCSIGN

1. Download a free logo from Signmax.us logos section Tip: I recommend to save the file in Documents folder of course you can save it to another folder. By experience I find it a lot easier to save every logos files in the same folder. 2. Open WinPCSIGN 3. Choose File -> Import -> Eps, AI, PDF(vector only) (This is the option to choose if you want to import the following files format: .Eps, .AI & .PDF) 4. QUESTION: Please select the conversion mode? Click on the Vectorial button Vectorial: Choose this option if the file contain vector path Main use: Cutting, editing purpose Bitmap: Choose this option if the file contain image Main use: Printing, Print & cut * In the video you got an option that show you how to import file from Adobe Illustrator. This option link to a video that will show you all the steps this is a must to import AI file from Illustrator but not necessary for this tutorial. Don't worry we will cover that in another post. 5. The file will load on your WinPCSIGN work page Note: You can import many logos on the same work page. I recommend you to save the logo in .WPC the default format of WinPCSIGN. It will be a easier to open and save all the modification that you will make. WHAT TO DO IF THE LOGO COLORS ARE NOT THE SAME AS THE IMAGE 1. Copy the image in WinPCSIGN 2. Open the color palette 3. Select color from screen (pipette icon, at the right of the color palette menu) 4. Move the pipette on the color you want to acquire and click the right mouse button 5. The color will be added to the color palette 6. Applied the new color on any shape or text

All logos from this SignMAX.us logo section will load in WinPCSIGN, note that for other logos from other site ... WinPCSIGN might have compatibility issues and the logo may not import or it may open with some glitches. For these cases I strongly recommend you to submit the file to [email protected]. We will investigate and open a bug report for our programming team.

HOW TO SET OBJECT CUTTING ORDER IN WinPCSIGN BASIC & PRO

When it come to production time matter. This is why our programmers have worked hard to implement powerful cutting order features in WinPCSIGN Basic & Pro. These features allow you to setup the cutting order of your project to minimize the cutter movement between each objects and by the same way reduce the cutting time or the entire project. QUICK TIP: HOW TO DISPLAY THE CUTTING ORDER

Procedure: In WinPCSIGN Select (FROM THE TOP MENU) TOOLS -> ENGRAVING -> DISPLAY OBJECT ORDER

WinPCSIGN BASIC & WinPCSIGN PRO

SORT OBJECTS The machine cut follow the same way that you drew. In WinPCSIGN BASIC & WinPCSIGN PRO you can select the function Sort objects from Options in Cutting Control Panel.

The cutting order will sort all object based on the X Axis starting from (0,0)

Procedure: In WinPCSIGN open the Cutting Control Panel and Select -> Options -> Sorts Objects

WinPCSIGN PRO

SORT INLINE PATH BEFORE OUTLINE This features is recommended if you need to cut non sticky material like paper. These kinf od materiels ofen have no glue and you may not want to stick all the sheet. This is why WinPCSIGN offer the Sort inline path before outline. This feature will allow you to cut the inside of any object before cutting the outside. By doing so the materiel will not move and will be easier to cut.

Procedure: In WinPCSIGN Select (FROM THE TOP MENU) TOOLS -> Sort inline path before outline

SORT FILLING ORDER

The best case scenario for this feature is when you have a design to cut with many superposition of colors. This feature allow you to sort color according to size and it will automatically place the larger elements to the back and the smallest elements to the front.

Procedure: In WinPCSIGN Select (FROM THE TOP MENU) TOOLS -> Sort filling order

HOW TO RUN WinPCSIGN ON A MAC

Many peoples have ask us if they can run WinPCSIGN on a MAC? The answer is YES but not directly. To make WinPCSIGN work on a mac you will need to run a Windows emulator and start WinPCSIGN with the emulator.
