After the mass attack on the vampires village no one but rose and Alex had survived.
Moments before their mother passed she told rose to avenge her death by seeking revenge from the valley cross kingdom. The ones that caused the tragedy.
Stealing gold, jewelry, family heirlooms, anything valuable. She wanted them to feel the pain of losing everything and live with that regret and guilt on what they had done.
So the quest begun. With little to no food or money, rose and Alex got on a small boat and sailed off looking for the valley cross kingdom to seek out vengeance.
Elliotās dad (the king) got sick out of nowhere and wasnāt able to run the kingdom anymore. With the prince (Elliot) being next in line for the throne he has to run an entire kingdom in less than a year.
This means an immediate arranged marriage, an intense reading in the valley cross rules and regulations, and preparation for the annual battle for the valley cross kingdom
Every century, the valley cross kingdom and another kingdom fight over each otherās land. Who ever the winner is rightfully takes away their name as king and earns their land. Growing their land more and more.
This puts Elliot in an extreme depression and fear due to the lack of control he has over his own life. Causing him to develop bad habits

Rose and Alexās have had many successful heist since being at valley cross but rose felt like it wasnāt enough. After all, anything the royal family loses will only be a crum to them considering their wealth.
Word break out all around that the prince is becoming the king in such short notice.
This gives rose the idea that instead of taking what they have, heās gonna take who they are. In the year the prince is preparing for all the royal duties, rose plans to get with the prince and become royalty. Then taking the entire kingdom away from them running them out of their own home leaving them with nothing.

Despite the anger he has against him, he questions if his feelings against the prince is still vengeance or something else.
