One Photo One Story.

Dragonflies in the clear sky..there were hundreds of them.

This photo was taken near a beautiful cove which I came across while travelling.

I was surprised and stared at them for a while. That is because I never see so many of them in cities anymore. I was recalling one summer day when my dad taught little me the meaning of survival by intentionally putting a dragonfly into a spider’s web and making me watch till the spider climbed down the web, caught and ate the dragonfly.

The girl was looking for her mother. I could tell a little bit of her nervousness looking at her tiny back. She might have been thinking, “what if my mom was drowning somewhere far off from the beach..?”

I once lost my parents of my sight on the very crowded summer beach. It was terrifying for a little girl like me who carried a big imagination - Did they get caught by a shirk or they went home without me?

Market Photo 2 : Folks and spoons hanging on to a kettle… People at the market stopped by this shop curiously walking in - obviously I was one of them. All the unique looking hanging ornaments made beautiful sounds whenever the wind blew though the shop just like they’re responding to it.

I love the living atmosphere that local markets create. It’s full of chatters and smiles around exchanges, and laughters and conversations around good food.

I carry my camera around whenever I go there to capture all the human dramas and expressions that people are making.

地元のマーケットはいつも人々の笑いごえと叫ぶ声とお喋りの声で溢れかえって生き生きしています。

物を真剣に売る顔、美味しいものを買って嬉しそうな顔、値段を聞く顔、勘定している時の顔、買ったばかりのパンをほうばる顔や元気？って声を掛け合い笑い合った顔…その場限りの素敵な表情や大切な時間があらゆるところで観察できる場所。

そんなマーケットで写真を撮るのが私は大好きです。

Photo from last year when I headed to the beach called Glenelg on New Year’s Eve in Adelaide.

When this was taken it was around 8:00 at night and the sun was still setting. Adelaide’s days in summer are usually very long.

The couple in this photo were waiting for the exciting new year to come, cuddling before the last sun set of 2013.

写真を撮ったのは去年2014年を迎える前日のニューイヤーズイブ。午後8時ごろにやっと夕日が沈み始めたのを覚えています。

写真に映るカップルは抱き合いながら2013年最後の太陽を眺め新しい年を待っている様子でした。

The Fringe Festival, Adelaide - every this time of a year the small city becomes such a living and exciting place. People are out to see various shows and performances, enjoy drinks, and share laughters.

I stopped by this guy giving his show for free. With some music on his background, he took a big black coat out and worn it - then he turned into a different character - it was the beginning of the show.

He made physical jokes, some little tricks and blew some balloons, encouraging the audience to cheer him up by their warm laughters for the entire show.

When he closed his show, he took a vow and gave a kiss on the black coat. I could see his respect towards both his audience and his important, professional tool.

アデレードで今開催中のお祭り、フリンジ。

有料の劇やコンサート、サーカスやトークショーで盛り上がるさなか、無料でパフォーマンスを披露していたおじさんの前で私は足を止めました。

音楽をかけると大きなスーツを手にとりリズムに合わせて袖を通したおじさん、ショーの始まり。

ぷぅーっと一息で長風船をつくって子供を喜ばせたり、陽気なダンスと心地よい音楽、体を使ったジョークで観客を最後まで盛り上げた彼はスーツから身を外し、大きな拍手の中でショーを終えました。

商売道具であるそのスーツにキスとお辞儀をして敬意を表す仕草に、観客の笑顔を作り続けてきたおじさんの誇りを感じた気がしました。

私にとってそうだったようにきっとそこにいた一人一人とってその短い30分が充実した幸せな時間だったんじゃないかな。

Chilly wind, nice and warm sun - I’ve been longing for this kind of a day during the summer under the terrible heat.

I was sitting on the grass, looking down the hill watching ppl passing-by.

in the photo I can see, a guy riding on his bike from left to right while a women busy walking pass from the right to left. On their right side, there’s a family chilling looking down the river.

Interestingly, they are all living now at the same place but are having “different” times.

People do exist in the same time, but live it differently. So the same time leads them to different destinations.

When you meet or encounter with somebody, that particular moment must be very precious. It means that the time has somehow led you and a person,who have lived their lives so differently though different paths, to the same destination at this very moment.

少し風のある、涼しくて気持ちの良い天候。こんな日を暑い夏の間どれだけ待ち焦がれていたかと思い返すだけで、今を生きれることを幸せに感じます。

今日は川沿いに続く緑の丘に腰を下ろして目の前を行き来する人たちの観察をしていました。写真はその一コマを収めています。

自転車が左から右へ走り去り、女の人が右から左へ歩いてゆく。忙しくすれ違う両者の横にはピクニックを楽しむ家族がいてまた別の時間が流れているのがわかります。

同じ今を生きていても、目的や過ごし方が違えば、流れる時間も違う。行き着く先も違う。

そんな中にある出会いは奇跡的。

同じ今でも違う時間を生きてきた、人と自分の交差点をもっと大事にしたいと思いました。

Found some lovely leaves colouring beautifully while walking around my neighborhood the other chilly morning.

I brought them home, put them in my schetch book in order as they changed its colour.

Just by looking at it I simply couldn’t believe that the colours showing on these leaves were made natural. Someone must have picked up some paints and coloured them…?

One of my old favorite books is called " the fall of Freddie the leaf". I love how thoughtfully its story tells us about life and death. In the book, Freddie feels more scared of falling off from his tree as he experiences the change of seasons from spring to winter. But at the same time he learns about the delicate balance between life and death from his companion leaf, Daniel. Freddie is ready and peaceful when he finally leaves his tree.

I remember this book answered to my simple question which i had when I was little, " what is it like to die?."
