Looking to rehome my leopard gecko

If you live near SE Michigan, USA or Sarnia, Ontario, Canada, have experience with reptiles, and would be willing to take my gecko, I would really really appreciate it!

My gecko Specs was given to me from a friend of friend in October 2020. He was already an adult when I got him (they said he was about two years old) so he’s about 7.5. He’s a sweet boy who has a little trouble hunting and judging depth, but loves dubia roaches and eats like a champ. Despite this, it’s difficult for me to feed him as much as he needs, and as I am moving out of my home, I cannot take him with me. Currently, I have been coming by my mother’s house to feed him and take care of him, but it’s really not ideal for him or me. My mom checks on him, feeds and waters the bugs, sprays down his tank and fills his water, but I can’t give him the enrichment he needs. There is no one around that I trust to take proper care of a lizard, but he NEEDS a new home.

He is not super active, but is curious and alert. His former owners told me he has enigma syndrome, but had never taken him to the vet (!?). Obviously I have, since then. He is not an enigma morph but does seem to have trouble with coordinating eating. The vet wasn’t worried.

When I feed him, I put him in a smaller tank and drop roaches in, let him chase them around, and help him occasionally. He eats from tongs or on his own.

If you can take him, you can have everything— enclosure, lights, decor, bugs. I have multiple lamps, a heat pad, temperature gauge/regulator. Everything you’d need to take care of him.

He is a sweet boy. He doesn’t mind being held, likes to explore, and is so named because I joke that he needs glasses (walks off edges you don’t watch him like a hawk). I don’t want to just list him for adoption because people think reptiles are pet rocks. I want him to go to someone who understands the involvement and husbandry.
