Lucas Landin - Driver from the Frozen Tundra
Dubass Boss's introduction: It's a special day today — we've got the first blogger from the USA. Dubass is beyond the politics, and I'm happy that people who are mad about winter drift — Dubass — are uniting and becoming one big family, in spite of everything. We thank Lucas for his trust.
Hello, I'm Lucas and I'm a driver. I have a career in Network Security but hope one day to make my living by racing.
I'm from the Frozen Tundra in Minnesota. I prefer to drive sideways on slippery surfaces and there is no better way to do that then in the Winter. "They say sideways isn't fast, They must not know me." (Quote from me off my Twitter).
I've won many racing events the coolest being The Road America Winter Autocross Series in 2014. I'm currently competing in the 2015 series having took only 5th in the first event, only being 4.2 seconds behind a 440whp STi. Being that is over 200 whp over what my car puts down and there was no snow to even the playing field, I did very well.
The top 4 times in front of me all had well over 100whp on me with much wider tires. I'm really hoping for snow in the second event so I can compete for the 1st place and get the series points I desperately need now.
I also host my own events on a lake here in Minnesota for My friends and I to have fun. I host these under the Title of Ice Fun Events and am currently using #IceFun2015 as its hashtag for social media (Although, It's mainly Instagram.) We have stickers for sale so we can keep are cone fund up, as traffic cones is our favorite thing past the Ice and Snow. I race all year round with my Subaru and compete on everything from Ice, Snow, Dirt, Tarmac, and anything else they'll hold a race on.
I drive a slightly modified Subaru WRX and have owned this car since 2007. It was stock up till a couple years ago where the first thing I did to it was replace all the bushings in the suspension and driveline with Whiteline poly.
Then I added beefy ALLWHEELSDRIVEN Gravel Coilovers to the mix and an Oppomoto 6 point rollbar for safety. Oppomoto is a cage builder who has cages being raced in the Forumla Drift series here, and has had several of his cages tested out by fearless drivers. The car has upgrades done to the motor not in search of horsepower but in search of reliability and durability. Including a KillerB Oilpan, Baffle, and Pick-up along with 08 STi oil Pump and Silicone coolant hoses.
Ready to scream near redline for hours on end (I've done this). I drive for Team ARWA (Always Race While Awake, or the crowd favorite Assault Rifles With Ammo) a racing team that I started. Team ARWA currently have 3 drivers competing in the Road America Winter Autocross Series, One of them winning the FWD class first place (Go Richard!!!).
