CAPTAIN AMERICA -THE WINTER SOLDIER- VER. TS
//Look at me...remembering the email to this account.
All my WinterWidow feels...as well as the return of my Nikolai, means that I'm going to be bringing Jamie back.
M!A: Double Agent (Open)
The Bride’s voice had him looking over his shoulder at her. He had allowed her to sleep, dragging himself from her side reluctantly. Nikolai couldn’t believe they were here, together. The two of them working side by side to bring SHIELD down.
He didn’t answer her. Instead, he laid the firearm down and moved toward her, an arm slipping around her waist to steal a quick kiss.
"I thought I’d let you sleep a little while longer."
Side by side to bring SHIELD down? Not quite. But no use rushing into that revelation. Or what Nikolai currently believed. It was still too early in the day for the complete emotional breakdown that would bring.
She leaned into him, pressing her lips to hers and letting her arms encircle his neck even as his encircled her waist.
"Awwww. Well thank you, love..."
M!A: Double Agent (Open)
Nikolai followed the same routine he followed any other morning. Wake up, shower, dress and head into SHIELD headquarters. If there wasn’t a mission (which, today there wasn’t), Nikolai would get in a workout in the SHIELD gym.
He was getting tired of it. Smiling and playing the good little SHIELD agent. The Spider was restless. He wanted nothing more than to get this mission over with and return home to Russia and the familiar surroundings.
The Americans were arrogant. They believed they were the greater force, but there was another force waiting to take them down. And Nikolai was proud to have been trusted with the mission.
In the range, he focused on the target, imagining it was Director Fury. The shot went right through the head of the target.
"Not bad..." One could almost hear the smirk in the voice coming from behind him. Not bad. Only one woman would call that shot not bad.
Drifting closer, Jamie came to stand beside him, frowning as she leaned back against the wall. "I thought you were going to wait for me this morning. You know...my finally agreeing to talk to Fury...give this SHIELD thing a try. What happened?"
“Well, not in so many words, per se.” Clint reached up to rub the back of his neck. “I mean, he hasn’t actually come right out and said it, but I mean, I’m pretty good at reading him. Well, at least I like to think I’m good at reading him…”
He dropped his hand back onto the bar. “Point is, he didn’t have to say it. I can just tell.”
"I love him too. Very much. Back in...back when we were operatives...Nik was the only thing that kept me...that prevented me from losing myself entirely." Of course, that hadn't worked out too well for them, what with the whole her being shoved into stasis thing. But it was something.
//Totally putting her out there as Jamie and Nik's daughter.
Just saying.
“Ahhh.” Clint nodded, taking another sip of his drink. “Yeah, Nik didn’t go into all the gritty details, but I got the gist of it. That’s…” He trailed off, shaking his head. Well, what did one say to that, really? “Rough doesn’t even begin to cover it.”
He licked his lips, glancing at her. “He really loves you, you know.”
"No. No it doesn't."
His last sentence takes her by surprise. Not because she doubted Nikolai loved her. She knew he did. But well...because they weren't really ones to discuss their relationship. Not without anyone outside of each other and so for Nik to have talked to Clint...
"He told you that?"
“You’ll feel better once you tell him.” Nikolai ran a hand along her real arm, fingers settling against hers. He didn’t know Steve well enough to know exactly know he was going to react to knowing his best friend was alive.
“Do you want me to be there with you?”
She shook her head as she interlaced their fingers. "This is something I have to do alone. It has to be just him and I..."
She wanted Nik there. She wanted him there badly, but she owed it to Steve to have it be just the two of them.

Steve couldn’t help but laugh softly at her reaction.
“You’ll have to point me in the right direction,” he said. “I’ve never had the best senses of direction. Sure, I can draw a photograph from memory, but I still manage to get lost walking in a straight line.”
"Are you..." She gave him a look, her nose scrunching just a bit. "Don't laugh at me!" Of course, he own laughter totally underminded the sentiment.
"Sounds about right." She motioned to the left as she began leading them back towards the coffee shop she had passed earlier. "You should start sketching landmarks. I bet it would help..."
Clint lifted his eyebrows, looking surprised. “Everything okay?” he asked, just a hint of concern bleeding into his tone. “You guys have a fight or something?” He nodded his thanks as the bartender brought them fresh drinks, and he picked up his glass, taking a sip. He figured it was more to do with her past, but he’d let her be the one to tell him.
"Nik and I?" She looked at the archer, shaking her head. "No. We're fine. The problem was more...internal. I...I'm guessing Nik's told you about Russia. The Red Room. What they programmed us to do?"
"Waiting to tell him is not going to make things easier. In fact, wait long enough and it'll be harder. Do you want to go to him or have him find out second hand?"
He didn't want to push her, but he knew it was going to be worse the longer she waited. Nikolai leaned over and tilted his head against hers.
"You'll feel better when you do it, little love."
The last thing she wanted was for Steve to hear about this second hand. He didn't deserve that. As it was, they had already let this go on too far without involving him. When he found out just how many people had known about her before...
She didn't want to add a second hand confession to that. No. She had to go to him herself. It was time.
"Tomorrow. I'll go see him tomorrow."
