Since I figured out how to link my masterlist to my bio, I posted a few oneshots. But, since I don’t like the fact that my dashboard is a mess, I thought I’d post a separate one (besides the linked one) here. Might be easier to find it then :)
So, without further ado.. Here’s my masterlist so far (and I’ll update this post whenever I upload new content).

Bucky wasn't about to let his wife suffer like this again... So he made sure to get her to safety until Rollins had been dealt with... So they drove to a secure location that only members of the Barnes Mob knew about it. A penthouse at the suburbs of the city. Away from the chaos and the terror. So they drove towars it.. and moments later they walked through the doors. which shut behind them with a soft click — nothing dramatic, nothing loud. Just a quiet, final sound that felt like a barrier between them and the world outside. Odette stood still for a moment, letting her eyes adjust to the warm lighting. The space was beautiful, modern, but lived‑in. She could tell Bucky had been here before, probably on nights he didn’t want anyone to see him unravel.
Tonight, he wasn’t unraveling. He was holding her together.
“Come here,” he murmured.
She didn’t hesitate. She walked straight into his arms, and he wrapped himself around her, one hand cradling the back of her head, the other splayed across her back. He held her like she was something fragile but precious — not because she was weak, but because she mattered.
Her cheek pressed against his chest, and she felt his heartbeat. Strong. Steady. Real.
“Let’s get you settled,” he whispered into her hair.
He guided her to the couch, his hand never leaving her back. She sank into the cushions, pulling her knees up slightly, hugging herself. Bucky crouched in front of her, brushing his thumb along her cheek.
“You’re safe,” he said softly. “You’re safe here.”
She nodded, but her eyes were still glassy, unfocused.
Bucky stood and moved to the kitchen. She listened to the quiet sounds — the kettle turning on, the soft clink of a mug, the gentle rustle of tea packets. It was domestic, ordinary, grounding. Something Rollins could never touch.
When he returned, he handed her a steaming mug. “Chamomile. Honey. Vanilla. The one you like.”
Odette wrapped both hands around it, letting the warmth seep into her palms. “Thank you…”
Bucky sat beside her, close enough that their thighs touched. “Drink,” he murmured.
She took a sip. The warmth slid down her throat, easing the tightness in her chest.
He watched her carefully. “You’re still shaking.”
“I know,” she whispered. “I can’t stop thinking about the nursery. The music box. The socks…”
His jaw tightened, but his voice stayed gentle. “I know. I’m thinking about it too.”
Odette set the mug down and leaned into him. He wrapped an arm around her instantly, pulling her against his chest. His heartbeat was steady, grounding.
For a long moment, they stayed like that — breathing together, letting the silence settle around them like a blanket.
Then Bucky pressed a soft kiss to her temple. Slow. Warm. Reassuring.
Odette closed her eyes.
Another kiss followed, this time on her forehead. His lips lingered there, gentle and steady, as if he could quiet her thoughts just by staying close.
“You’re safe,” he murmured. “You’re safe with me.”
She turned slightly, meeting his gaze. His eyes were tired, but soft — the storm from earlier replaced by something tender.
“You’re scared,” she whispered.
He didn’t deny it. He didn’t pretend. He just nodded once. “Terrified.”
“For me?” she asked.
“For you,” he said. “For the baby. For everything I almost lost once.”
Odette’s breath caught. She reached up and touched his cheek, her thumb brushing the faint stubble. “We’re okay right now.”
He covered her hand with his own, pressing it firmly against his chest. “Feel that? That’s you calming me down.”
She smiled faintly — the first real smile since the nursery.
Bucky leaned in and kissed her. Slow. Sweet. The kind of kiss that melted fear instead of igniting anything else.
His hand cupped her jaw, thumb brushing her cheek as he kissed her again, longer this time, breathing her in like she was the only thing keeping him grounded.
When they parted, he rested his forehead against hers. Their noses brushed lightly.
“Let me take care of you tonight,” he whispered. “Let me help you breathe again.”
She nodded, and he kissed her once more — soft, lingering — before pulling her into his arms again, tucking her against his chest.
They stayed like that for a long time, wrapped in each other, the city lights glowing softly around them. Odette felt her heartbeat steadying. Bucky felt his fear easing.
Eventually, he stood and offered her his hand. “Come on. Bed.”
She took it.
The bedroom was warm, dimly lit, the sheets cool and crisp. Bucky pulled the blankets back and helped her lie down, then slipped in beside her. She curled into him instantly, her head resting on his chest.
He kissed the top of her head. Then her hairline. Then her temple.
Soft, sleepy kisses meant only to soothe.
“Talk to me,” she whispered.
He exhaled slowly. “I keep imagining holding them. Our baby. Their tiny hands. Their laugh. I want them to have everything I didn’t.”
Odette’s eyes softened. “They will. Because they’ll have you.”
He kissed her again — slow, tender, grateful.
She brushed her fingers over his heart. “What scares you the most?”
He swallowed hard. “Losing you. Losing them. Losing the family I never thought I’d have.”
Odette kissed his chest, right over his heart. “You won’t.” He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her impossibly close. “Sleep,” he whispered. “I’m staying right here.”
Her fingers curled into his shirt. “Don’t let go.”
“Never.” She responded. But she didn’t fall asleep immediately. Not tonight.
She shifted slightly, her hand drifting instinctively to her belly. Bucky followed the movement with his eyes.
He hesitated for a moment — not out of fear, but out of awe — before gently placing his hand over hers. His palm rested against the gentle curve of her stomach, warm and steady.
Odette’s breath caught. “Bucky…”
He swallowed hard, his voice barely above a whisper. “Can I…?”
She nodded, guiding his hand a little lower, letting him feel the soft rise beneath her skin. At that, Bucky’s expression melted completely.
He brushed his thumb in slow circles over her belly, reverent and careful. “Hey, little one…” he whispered, leaning closer. “It’s your dad.”
Odette felt her heart swell as Bucky continued, voice soft and warm. “I know you can’t hear me yet. Not really. But I’m going to talk to you anyway.” He kissed her belly — a gentle, lingering kiss that made Odette’s eyes sting with emotion.
“You scared your mom today,” he murmured softly. “And me. But she’s strong. So strong. You’re going to be just like her.” Odette brushed her fingers through his hair, her throat tight.
He kissed her belly again, slower this time. “I’m going to keep you safe. Both of you. I swear it.”
He rested his cheek against her stomach for a moment, breathing her in, grounding himself in the reality of her and the baby. Odette whispered, “Bucky… come back up here.”
He slid back up, settling beside her again. She cupped his face, brushing her thumb along his cheekbone. He leaned into her touch, eyes half‑closed.
She kissed him — soft, slow, lingering. He kissed her back — gentle, warm, steady.Their lips met again and again, each kiss a little longer, a little deeper, but still tender. Still safe. Still full of love rather than urgency. Bucky’s hand stayed on her belly, thumb stroking lightly as he kissed her. Odette’s fingers curled into his hair, pulling him closer, but not in desperation — in comfort.
When they finally paused, foreheads touching, breaths mingling, Bucky whispered, “I love you. More than anything.”
Odette smiled, brushing her nose against his. “I know.”
He kissed her again — slow, sweet, sleepy — then pulled her fully into his arms, tucking her head under his chin. His hand stayed on her belly, warm and protective.
Odette drifted toward sleep, wrapped in his embrace. Bucky stayed awake a little longer, brushing soft kisses along her hairline, whispering quiet promises to her and the baby.
Only when her breathing settled into a peaceful rhythm did he close his eyes. And the penthouse, for the first time in days, felt like home.
@world-of-aus. Happy reading and enjoy the feels . Hope this cheers you up a little.❤️❤️❤️❤️

Chapter Warnings: Mind games from (not so dear) Rollins. Allusions to Odette's past abuse during her time of being a captive of Rumlow and his men.
Odette didn’t let go of his hand even when they reached the main hall. Her fingers were trembling, but her grip was iron. Bucky felt it — and it made something inside him twist painfully.
Before he could say anything, another guard rushed in. “Boss… you need to see this.” Bucky stiffened. “What now.”
The guard swallowed hard and handed him a small black envelope. No markings. No seal. Just… placed on the kitchen counter, as if someone had walked right in and left it there.
Odette’s stomach dropped as Bucky opened it. Inside was a photo. Of Odette standing by the nursery door. Taken from inside the house. Her blood ran cold. How was this possible?! Bucky’s fingers tightened around the photo until it crumpled. “He was inside.”
The guard shook his head. “Cameras didn’t catch anything. No alarms. No breaches.” Odette whispered, “That’s impossible…” “No,” Bucky said, voice low and lethal. “It’s Rollins. He’s making a point.”
He turned the photo over.
On the back, in jagged handwriting:
“You look lovely in blue. Can’t wait to meet the little one.”
Odette’s breath hitched. She had worn blue yesterday. A dress Bucky loved. A dress she only wore inside the mansion.
Her knees nearly buckled. Bucky caught her instantly, pulling her against him. His heart was pounding so hard she could feel it through his shirt.
“He’s watching us,” she whispered. “He’s been watching us this whole time.”
Bucky’s jaw clenched. “Not anymore. I’m shutting this whole place down. Lock every window, every door. Double the guards. No one moves without my say.”
But even as he barked orders, Odette could see it — the fear behind his rage. The fear that Rollins wasn’t just threatening them.
He was studying them. Learning their routines. Their weaknesses. Their fears.
And then another guard approached, pale as a ghost.
“Boss… we found something else.” Bucky turned sharply. “What.” The guard held out a small object wrapped in cloth. Bucky unwrapped it. Odette gasped. It was her wedding ring. The one she kept in a jewelry box upstairs. The one she hadn’t worn today. Bucky’s face drained of color. “He was in our bedroom,” Odette whispered. Bucky’s hand shook — just once — before he closed his fist around the ring.
Rollins wasn’t just sending threats. He was sending messages meant to break them from the inside. Odette stepped closer, her voice barely steady. “He wants us scared.” Bucky looked at her, eyes burning. “Then he’s going to learn what happens when he touches what’s mine.”
But even as he said it, Odette felt it — the shift in the air, the tightening in her chest. Rollins wasn’t done. Νot by a longshot… He was just getting started. And the mind games on Barnes would escalate. Worse. Rollins would try to bring him and Odette to their limits.
The mansion felt wrong now — too quiet, too still, like the walls themselves were holding their breath. Bucky moved through the hallway with Odette close behind him, his hand hovering near his gun even inside his own home.
“Boss,” one of the guards called from the living room, pale and shaken. “We found… something else.”Bucky’s stomach dropped. “Where.”
The guard pointed toward the entertainment console. A small black device sat on top of it. A voice recorder. Odette’s pulse spiked as her hand flew to her baby bump protectively. “That wasn’t there earlier.” Bucky picked it up with two fingers, as if touching it might contaminate him. He pressed play. But nothing except static crackled.
Then a voice. Smooth. Mocking. Too familiar.
“James…” Odette froze. That voice that taunted her when Rollins and his men had her pinned down and laughing as they marked and abused her…
Rollins’ voice filled the room like poison.
“You really should lock your doors better. I walked right past your men. They didn’t even look up.”
Bucky’s jaw clenched so hard she heard it.
“Your wife is lovely. Brave, too. She didn’t scream when I stood outside the nursery. I like that about her.”
Odette’s breath shattered. It was like she was thrust back into that nightmare… Bucky’s eyes went feral as Rollins chuckled softly in the recording.
“You think you can protect her? Protect the baby? You couldn’t protect her last time. And now you’re slower… softer.”
Odette grabbed Bucky’s arm, feeling the tremor running through him.
“But don’t worry,” Rollins continued, voice dripping with amusement. “I didn’t touch anything. Well… almost nothing.”
The recording clicked off. And then… Absolute and terrifying silence.
Odette felt her knees weaken. “Bucky… the nursery.”
He didn’t hesitate. He sprinted down the hall, His wife right behind him despite the guards shouting for her to stay back.
He pushed open the nursery door. And stopped dead. Odette nearly collided with him — then she saw it.
On the rocking chair, placed neatly like a gift, was a music box. Silver. Old. Engraved. But it was not theirs. Bucky approached it slowly, every muscle in his body coiled tight. He opened the lid. A lullaby began to play. Soft. Sweet. Wrong.
Inside, instead of a figurine, was a tiny pair of baby socks — blue — folded with surgical precision. Odette’s hand flew to her mouth.
Bucky’s breathing turned ragged. On the underside of the lid, carved into the wood:
“Soon.”
Odette felt her heart slam against her ribs. “He was in here. He touched our baby’s things.” Bucky closed the music box with a snap that echoed like a gunshot.
“He’s inside the house,” he said, voice shaking with rage. “He’s been inside the house. He’s watching us. He’s playing with us.” Odette stepped closer, her voice trembling but firm. “Bucky… he wants you unstable. He wants you scared.” He turned to her, eyes burning. “I’m not scared.” But she saw it — the flicker of terror beneath the fury. Not for himself. For her. For the baby. For the family he almost lost once.
Odette touched his cheek gently. “Then don’t give him what he wants.”
Bucky swallowed hard, then pulled her into his arms, holding her like she was the only thing keeping him upright. “We’re ending this,” he whispered into her hair. “I swear to God, baby… I am going to find him, and then I am going to end him.”
But outside the nursery window, unseen by both of them… A small red laser dot flickered once and disappeared. Rollins was still watching. And all Bucky knew was that he had to take his wife away from here.. As soon as possible.
@world-of-aus. Happy reading! (and I see you screaming at me in 3...2..) 🥰
Author's Note: From here on out, someone is out for blood. And it's not Bucky this time. Rollins is coming for them...

Chapter Warnings: Once again tension. I think that's it.
The ride back to the mansion was relatively quiet, with Bucky not exactly keen to talk. Maybe it was the tension that was slowly leaving his body, maybe it was the terror that gripped him since the day he found out that Rollins was still out and about… No one really knew what was going on in the mobster’s head, given that he was extremely quiet about all that.
Meanwhile, back in the Mansion, Odette was being her usual bubbly self, helping everyone around the house, despite them asking for her to rest. She wasn’t one to just boss everyone around, she was quite humble and that was never going to change. After all, she would never forget how she started out… But a part of her couldn’t help but worry about her husband, seeing as he left with quite the grim expression on his face this morning. She trusted him, but of course she was praying for him to be okay. Sometimes she could see the toll this job was taking on Bucky… And she couldn’t do something to ease the burden. All she could do was to be there for him whenever he needed her.
The heavy gate opening, signaled his return. And Odette was the first one to spot the cars making their way in the vast yard. Bucky was back… And that was the young woman’s cue to ask for the bath to be prepped along with a first aid kit. As the main door opened, she walked to her husband, offering him a small smile, which soon gave way to a worried frown, upon seeing his tired face as well as the bloodied clothes. “Come on… I’ve prepared a warm bath for you…” She encouraged with a gentle touch on his cheek. Hearing that she had already prepared a bath for him made him hum in gratitude for her. “I think I have fallen in love with you a little more now…” He joked, but it was the truth…
That little bit of humor made her blush, although she knew he was speaking the truth. Part of her wanted to know what had happened with Walker, but the more logical part of her brain told her not to pry and that he would open up if he felt ready. Inside, the house was quiet — too quiet. The kind that usually came before a storm.
“Go lie down, doll,” Bucky muttered gruffly, already peeling off his jacket as he made his way toward his office. Odette stayed rooted in place. “No.”
That single word made him pause, but he didn’t turn around. “I said no, Bucky.” Her voice was sharper this time, laced with heat. “We’re not doing this. You don’t get to shut me out after that.” He exhaled, still facing away. “I’m trying to protect you.”. “By treating me like some porcelain doll that’ll break if you speak a full sentence? Bullshit.”
Now he turned and his eyes were darker than usual — heavy with exhaustion, fear, rage. “You were almost killed. Again. While carrying our baby.”
“And I’m still here,” she said, her voice breaking slightly. “We’re still here.”
He slammed the door behind him, and she flinched. She followed him anyway, into his office — the nerve center of his empire — and shut it again behind her, slower this time. The note sat on the desk like a ticking bomb.
Odette’s eyes landed on it. “J.R.”
“Jack fucking Rollins,” Bucky ground out, running both hands through his hair. “I should’ve finished him the first time.”
“You tried,” she said, stepping forward. “And now he’s sending threats to our doorstep. You think hiding this from me will make it easier?”
“I’m not hiding it!” he snapped, then caught himself. “I’m trying to keep you calm, Odette. You're pregnant. Stress isn’t good for you or the baby.” “You don’t think getting death threats delivered to my front door already did that?!” Her voice cracked, trembling with barely concealed panic. “You think I didn’t see the way your hands shook when you read it? You think I want to be left out when it’s my life on the line?”
Silence fell between them. Not peace — just the deafening roar of everything that was unsaid.
Then she repeated in a gentler tone. “Bucky... You keep thinking this is your fault. That you weren’t enough to protect me before. But none of this is on you... HYDRA, Rollins — they’re monsters. And monsters don’t play fair… You know that…”
He looked up at her now, eyes glassy but hard. “I keep seeing that day. Over and over. And this—” he picked up the note and held it out like poison, “—this is how I know it’s not over.”
She stepped forward and placed her hand over his, gently pushing the note down. “Then let’s face it together.” He looked like he wanted to argue. But instead, his walls finally cracked.
“God, Odette…” he whispered, pulling her into his arms, resting his forehead against hers. “I can’t lose you. Not again.” That was enough for Odette to soften just a little. “You won’t,” she whispered back, pressing her hand over his heart. “But please don’t shut me out. We’re stronger when we’re honest with each other. Even if it hurts.”
Just as the brunette was about to respond, a knock came at the door.
“Boss,” one of his men called. “We’ve got movement near the west side. Thought you’d want to see this.” He pulled away reluctantly, brushing her hair back. “Stay here,” he said softly, but she shook her head in refusal. “Not a chance.”

Chapter Warnings: Violence.
The image of his wife, scarred and bruised in almost every part of her body was still engraved in his mind, even after all these months, and it was enough to make the mobster plot every sort of torture for the sadist who dared lay a hand on her. As if what happened to Rumlow wasn’t enough to make anyone have second thoughts about crossing him… Because he wanted to ensure that there wouldn’t be any more HYDRA related threat in the city he took it upon himself to lead the search. And immediately, he slipped into the terrifying Winter Soldier – Natasha had graced him with this nickname due to his cold, ruthless personality while he was working a job, whether it involved questioning, or putting a bullet into someone’s head. That was one of his many layers that he kept hidden from Odette because deep down he feared that she would leave him. But she was able to see past the murderous Mobster, and that was why she chose to stay by his side.
Now, she swore that she would stay out of his way while he was turning the city upside down looking for Rumlow’s right hand man, Rollins. Instinctively, she traced the raised skin on her collarbone, recalling the repulsive words that spilled from his lips.
But she was not affected by that anymore. She was able to put all that past her. Bucky would take care of him….
It took days of gruesome fights and tortures… Barnes was furious that small time gang members pledged their allegiance to HYDRA.
“I’m going to ask you again. Where. Is. Rollins?!” His voice boomed, as he stalked to the man that was restrained, sporting cuts and bruises from previous injuries; he had put on quite the fight before he was caught by Clint and his men… But Bucky did not exactly care.
“Screw you man!” The blonde- Walker- laughed, his breath knocked out him as the brunette mobster landed yet another blow to his abdomen. “Wrong answer you son of a bitch!” Downright violence wasn’t working… So he tried again, taking a deep breath.
“Now, I hate to be the ‘shoot first, ask questions later’ kind of guy, and you seem like a man of many talents” He grinned darkly, pulling out a knife that looked like it had been sharpened quite recently.
“Now… I am going to ask you again…. Where. Is. Jack Rollins?” Barnes repeated nicking the blonde’s skin, drawing blood. Yet he refrained from pushing the blade deeper, hoping it wouldn’t come to that; he would hate to ruin another dress shirt with blood stains. Not to mention, he didn’t want his wife to have to see that. When Walker refused to rat out HYDRA’s new leader, Bucky decided to return the favour; he was going to brand Walker, the same way Rollins branded his wife. And he would return this good for nothing thug back to the douche that was looking to stir up terror in his territory. Because that’s what it was about. Cut off one head, two more shall take its place, right? Only this time, Bucky would put an end to HYDRA, once and for all.
“I bet she made all those pretty sounds… Rumlow had fun with her… And so did Rollins the next morning… Man, I bet that whore secretly liked it—” Walker was simply taunting, but the next second, a horrifying scream echoed in that dingy room. Bucky pressed the flaming burning crowbar, with his insignia on it, a red star. A symbol that brought terror to anyone who crossed the Barnes Mafia…
“Not a word about my wife, you sick bastard…” He growled, twisting the molten iron, taking immense delight in the cries of pain and the unintelligible pleas for mercy. But he would get none. Just like they showed his wife zero mercy when they humiliated her and made a tape of it. “FUCK!!!!! Alright, alright!!!! I will tell you everything you need to know!” Walker finally caved in, hissing in pain when Barnes pulled the crowbar roughly, leaving the smell of burnt flesh roam in the air. “Rollins is back in the old mansion where Rumlow ran operations. He is planning to reorganize HYDRA and create chaos!” The blonde struggled to breathe, with all the cuts and bruises. Something told him that Barnes wouldn’t be as merciful as he claimed…
“Now, that wasn’t so hard, was it?” The brunette sneered, contemplating whether he should plant a bullet between his eyes and be done with him. Which he did. He couldn’t have him running back to Rollins and warn him. “You—You said you’d let me go if I gave you what you wanted!” Walker screamed in aggravation, drawing a snicker from Bucky. “Did I?” He smirked, pointing the gun on his head, finger on the trigger until a loud crack echoed in the room. “Oops.” He shrugged seeing the bullet that lodged between Walker’s eyes who now laid dead, blood dripping onto the floor.
Several moments passed before the mobster was able to recollect himself. Yes, this job was violent, yes he knew that sometimes he had to go to the extremes to eliminate any potential threats on his family or his territory, but that didn’t mean he liked it. Steve was the one who found him hunched over the small worn-out desk where guns and smaller knives were strewn. He could see that this whole business was starting to take its toll on his friend. He could think of a way to get him to focus back on the mobster business, but he hated himself, for even daring to think about it, so he dismissed the thought immediately.
“You doin’ okay Buck…?” He asked carefully approaching said man.
“No, but when do I get to be alright?” Barnes replied slipping back to the cold mobster. Empty of any emotion, the brunette just gathered his jacket and disposed of the bloodied instruments of torture. All he wanted right now was to go back to his wife and get lost in her embrace. “I gotta do something first.” He then declared pulling out his phone to snap a picture of the corpse. That was a direct message to Rollins. Maybe he would stand down if he saw one of his top henchmen drowning in a pool of their own blood and disfigured beyond recognition. The message was pretty self-explanatory: “Leave New York or meet the same fate.” And without sparing another glance, he hit send.
“Tell everyone else we’re moving out. We’re done here.” He spoke completely void of emotion, simply wanting to be in Odette’s presence. He had inflicted enough violence and death for one day. Steve only nodded in agreement, watching as his friend walked away, lost in thought. But he couldn’t help but wonder what was going through his mind right now.
@world-of-aus I'm looking forward to your reactions. 🥰
Author's Note: 2000 years later. I've been getting some inspiration for this story so... expect juicier updates. Expect PAIN here on out babes. Happy reading! 😘
Word Count: 877 (Apologies for the short update.)
Chapter Warnings: Tension. So much tension before that prick Rollins makes his move.
James, had just about concluded the meeting for that morning, and was getting prepared to attend other activities in the city along with his men when he spotted his wife by the door, seemingly reading through their mail. But her stance told him that something was wrong.
“Hey doll! Something wrong?” He pressed a hand over her shoulder, not missing how she almost flinched. “N-no! Everything’s fine sweetheart! I just… I just got distracted…” She lied, but she knew he wouldn’t accept it. “Doll—” Bucky interjected not expecting her next reaction. “I said it’s fine!” She snapped, immediately regretting it. “I’m sorry.. I just have a lot on my mind with preparing our little one’s nursery and all.” She tried to play it down, not wishing to upset him. With a final ‘I love you’, she walked out, breathing slowly.
How was she supposed to keep calm knowing that the man—well, one of the men that abused her in the worst ways—was out for blood? She wasn’t alone now; the redhead had a little one to protect. That’s why she felt bad for shutting Bucky out when he attempted to see what had stirred distress to his wife.
Bucky made a mental note to himself to sit down with her and try to see what was going on all of a sudden; they had one of their most passionate mornings earlier, and she had made a complete 180 on him. No, something was definitely wrong here. And he would find out. Just as he was about to head out, one of the guards that were tasked with the protection of the mansion approached him, with a slightly worried expression plastered over his features.
“Sir? The surveillance system caught suspicious movements in the early hours of the morning. From what we gathered, watching the footage was someone dropping a note at the doorstep.” He informed. “Is that all? Bucky asked sporting a calm façade. Once the guard replied negatively, the mobster frowned. “Okay. I want everyone on high alert for our mystery man who’s playing messenger.” He ordered before texting Clint to meet him out. He was going out in the city to track down any possible leads on HYDRA. His gut told him that they would resurface. After all, their leader died by his hand, so it only made sense that they were going to come looking for revenge. As for his wife, she was accompanied by Steve everywhere she needed to be for meetings and whatnot. But she also made sure to treat her bodyguard to some coffee, which Steve tried to refuse politely. But she wasn’t having it. “You know, you’re not some kind of servant… So stop seeing it as such. I’m pretty certain that you’re sick of driving me around..” She teased, earning a kind-hearted chuckle from the blonde. “I never said that I’m your servant. I just like being alert… Not taking any chances after what happened to you the last time..” He trailed off; her abduction had taken a toll on him, like it did to Bucky.
Odette noticed the change in his demeanor. Clearly, he was zoning out on her. “Earth to Mr. Rogers!” She nudged his head gently, explaining how she would never blame him or Bucky for her own stupidity. And so, the rest of her day went quickly, as she tasked herself with choosing the perfect set up for the nursery room. Now, it was time to rest up, for she could feel her baby being somewhat fussy inside her. “You’ve got to settle down sweet thing..” She muttered affectionately, placing her palm over her baby bump.
Hours pass, until she notices her husband walking inside their mansion, his shirt bloody, but he seemed just fine, apart from a few small cuts. Immediately, she was by his side, inspecting him for any other injuries. But the brunette explained that he was just fine, and that this wasn’t his blood. “Almost walked into a trap. But Clint’s alright. He’s a tough bastard.” He joked. “You can tell me all about it, over dinner, and I can show you why I reacted the way I did this morning. I don’t want any secrets between us…” Now, that had his full and undivided attention. “Seriously, what was up with you this morning? That kind of reaction is so unlike you..” He mused, pressing soft kisses across her collarbone as they sat in the lush living room. “I know, and I’m terribly sorry for that…” She responded detangling herself from him. Rollins’s note was still in her pocket… And she couldn’t wait to throw it down the garbage and suppress the awful flashbacks. But not before showing it to her husband who bore what had to be the darkest expression on his face, rage simmering inside him. Odette then explained how she didn’t want to stress him out further; she had noticed how he was focused on tracking down Rollins before he had the chance to reorganize HYDRA under his leadership. “Just promise me one thing…” She mused meeting Bucky’s curious gaze.
“Promise me you’ll be careful. Rollins is a downright sadist..” She said, a shudder coursing through her body as she recalled the torture, and the branding.
I got a few stories that I will slowly start putting together! Oh, and I'm definitely continuing my Never mess with a Mafia Lord AU story. Prepare for a lot of pain babes 😈😏
In just a few weeks, I'll be heading back to the classroom to start my fourth year as a Special Education Self-Contained teacher working with Kindergarten through 5th grade students.
Every year teaches me something new, and every group of students reminds me why I love what I do. My classroom is full of incredible kids with unique learning, communication, and sensory needs, and one of my favorite parts of teaching is creating a space where they feel safe, supported, and excited to learn.
This year, one of my biggest goals is to continue building a calming sensory space while adding more hands-on learning materials that encourage communication, independence, and life skills. I'm also challenging myself to build a year-long curriculum that's tailored specifically to my students something I've dreamed of doing for a long time.
Like so many teachers, I spend a lot of my own money on my classroom each year. Curriculum alone usually costs me $300+, and that's before classroom supplies, sensory materials, books, and everything else that helps make our room feel like home.
I've put together an Amazon Classroom Wishlist with items that would directly benefit my students throughout the year. There is absolutely no expectation to purchase anything I know times are tough for many people. But if you'd like to support my classroom, or even just reblog this post to help it reach someone who might, I'd be incredibly grateful.
Every single item helps create a better learning environment for my students.
Thank you all for supporting not only my writing over the years, but also this little corner of my life that means so much to me. It truly means the world. 💙
Summary:
In the quiet of a sleepless night, Bucky watches you with his son and for the first time in a long time, he understands what safety is supposed to feel like.
Author’s Note:
Oh my goodness hello again 🤍 I am officially knee deep in my cowboy/bull rider era and I’m not even pretending to escape it at this point haha, BECAUSE WHY WOULD I!
This is another small moment within the “All I’ll Ever Need” universe; little snapshots of life, exhaustion, and the quiet kind of love that builds in the spaces between words.
I hope you enjoy this one.
As always, happy reading 🤍
Now back to my little writing cave I go.
Bucky hadn't slept. Hell, he couldn't remember the last time he'd gotten a decent night's rest; a full eight hours instead of the two or three he managed to steal between Grant's cries and his own restless thoughts.
Had it not been for you practically offering to move into the ranch during those first few weeks easing some of the stress, some of the worry, it would've been worse.
A hell of a lot worse.
Truth be told, he didn't remember much of that first night.
Only fragments; the sound of Grant crying, the crushing weight in his chest, your voice on the other end of the phone telling him to hold on.
Most of all, he remembered you.
Your steady presence had tethered him to the moment, keeping him grounded when everything else threatened to come apart. Not just him, either. Grant, too.
God, his boy had suffered the most.
Most nights Bucky found himself staring at the ceiling long after Grant had fallen asleep, wondering how she could've just up and walked away from him, from them. From the little boy she'd sworn was going to be their whole world. The one thing that was supposed to change everything.
He's not sure how he's supposed to do this.
He wasn't supposed to do it alone.
Dolores had promised they were in this together, that Grant would be the blessing that fixed all their problems. That he'd make them stronger as a couple. Happier.
What a load of shit that had been.
A soft cry crackles from the baby monitor resting on his nightstand, sleep completely evading him as he lets out a weary sigh, his eyes squeezing shut.
Five minutes.
That's all he'd managed to get before Grant woke again, his cries calling for him through the monitor. With a soft groan, he drags a hand down his face, willing the remnants of sleep away as he pushes himself upright, the mattress protesting beneath him.
"I hear you, buddy," he calls to his wailing son. "Daddy's coming."
He reaches for the monitor as he gets to his feet, another cry sounding through the speaker.
Then your voice follows; Soft, Sleepy, Familiar.
Bucky stills.
"Hey, sweet boy, why the tears?" you murmur. "Shh, s'alright. I'm here. Don't you worry, I've got you."
Grant's crying doesn't stop immediately, but it begins to quiet as your voice drifts through the speaker, wrapping around him like a warm blanket. Gentle assurances fill the room as you rock his son, soothing fears neither of them fully understand.
Bucky lets himself stand there a moment, breathing, your voice not only calming his son, but him as well. Anyone would've walked away by now. Patted him on the back, reassured him he had this, promised to check in, and then never looked back.
But you?
You stayed.
Day after day, you showed up for him, for them. You stayed through the sleepless nights and endless bottles. Through the mountains of laundry neither of you could seem to keep up with, though you tried. You stayed through the nights Grant cried for hours and the mornings Bucky could barely drag himself out of bed. You cooked when he forgot to eat, held Grant when his arms grew tired, sat beside him when the house felt too quiet.
You stayed.
Bucky exhales slowly, like the thought itself is too heavy to hold, and it is, because the truth is he doesn’t think could do this without you anymore.
And god why does that scare him?
Another soft cry crackles through the baby monitor, pulling him back before he can sit too long in that realization.
He moves without thinking, finally stepping out of the room and down the hall, the worn floorboards creaking beneath his feet. The nursery door is slightly ajar, warm lights spilling into the darkened hallway.
His fingers inch the door open, his steps stilling as he catches sight of you; you’re in the rocking chair you helped him choose Grant tucked against your chest, one of your hands moving slow and steady over his back while the other keeps the bottle angled just right. Your head is tipped slightly forward, eyes heavy, like you’ve been awake far longer than you should’ve been, but still watching his boy.
A soft tune leaves your lips, Grants eyes slowly losing their fight, as sleep threatens to pull him under, and as he watches you with him Bucky gets it. He feels safe, his boy is safe. With you.
He doesn’t move right away, opting to watch the rise and fall of Grant’s tiny chest against yours the way your hand keeps moving, steady even in sleep.
It’s in that moment that Bucky lets himself believe even if just for a second that everything will be okay.
Summary:
A late-night phone call shatters the quiet of your home, pulling you straight into Bucky’s world at its most fragile moment when everything he thought he had is suddenly gone.

Now back to my little writing cave I go.
You jolt awake, your phone singing loudly in the dark of the night as it vibrates on your nightstand. A groan grumbles past your lips, tired eyes opening as you blindly reach for the night stand.
You silence your phone, answering the call as you bring it to your ear, ‘hello?’ Tiny wails fill your ear, waking you immediately as you sit up in your bed, phone now clutched to your ear. ‘Bucky,’ you call, ‘is everything okay?’ you question into the quiet line.
You hear him suck in a shuddering breath, ‘she left, she just up and left.’
"What do you mean?" Your stomach drops. "Buck, who left?"
The choked sob has you throwing the sheets off, your feet hitting the cold wooden floor as you move to your bedroom door, ‘Bucky, Buck c’mon talk to me, who left?’
‘Why, why would she do this, after everything - after.’ another heart wrenching sob leaves his lips.
You’re racing through your home, slipping on your slippers that you tossed by the couch, reaching for the keys in your wooden bowl by the door, ‘Who,’ you question again, ‘who left Bucky?’
‘Dolores.’ He finally answers, your fingers tighten around the knob of your front door, keys digging into your hand as anger burns hot through your chest. Grant’s cries cut through it all moving you forward as you exit your home, running to your vehicle. ‘Are you sure she left,’ you question as you climb into your truck, keys turning in the ignition, ‘maybe she just needed some air, she’s probably at her mom’s B -“
‘She’s gone y/n, she took everything.’
‘W-what?”
His shaky breath crackles through the speaker, ‘her clothes are gone, suitcases gone, everything that was ever hers, it’s gone.’
Grant’s wails grow louder, a cry so heart shattering that should’ve had a mother rushing toward it, ‘she left him y/n, how could she just leave him? She was supposed to love him.’
Your hand curls around the steering wheel, a shake of your head, ‘I’m on my way Buck, just hold on for me okay, I’m coming.’
His shaky breath is the last thing you hear before the line goes dead. Your tires squealing against the pavement as you drive off into the dead of night.
You’ve probably broken a lot of traffic laws by the time you find yourself pulling into the familiar dirt road of Bucky’s ranch, the only guiding light coming from your truck’s headlights as it brought you closer to the darkened farm house. Dread consumes you as you kill the engine climbing out before the truck has even fully settled.
Grant's cries meet you before you even reach the front door of the home, the broken wail tearing straight through you.
The porch steps creak beneath your feet as you take them two at a time, you shove the door open as soon as you get your hands around the knob, the house is silent save for Grant's cries.
You move through the entry way stopping short of the kitchen as your eyes find his. Tears glimmering in his eyes as he clutches his boy to his chest, strong hands running along his wailing sons back soothing a heart he didn’t break. ‘She’s gone,’ a sob breaks free, ‘ she’s really gone.’
Your feet carry you forward, knees meeting the wood as you bring yourself down to his level, and for the first time in a long time you aren't sure what to do in his presence. You don’t have to think twice about it as Bucky falls into you, the hand that isn’t holding grant curling around your waist, his forehead meeting your chest as he lets himself break.
Tears gather in your own eyes as you get your arm around him, fingers smoothing down his hair, as you try to soothe the ache that is consuming him. You reach for Grant with your other arm, gently pulling the two-month-old from his father's hold. His cries hitch as you press your lips to the top of his head.

Bucky sipped his whiskey, ignoring the taunt from one of the men across the bar. You trembled when he met your eye, his hat pulled down low. You heard the whispers when he rolled into town, how fast his draw was and the danger he carried. He didn't smile, but he looked at you like he owned you.
And he didn't hesitate to shoot the man who insulted him again. But he didn't shoot him because of his mouth. He shot him because he put his hand on you.
The man hit the ground, his hand falling from your waist. Smoke drifted from the barrel of Bucky's gun, the echo ringing off the walls of the now quiet saloon. He didn't look away from you when he holstered his gun and slowly got to his feet, like he had all the time in the world.
The bartender ducked behind the counter, the cowboy's boots heavy as he walked toward you. Your pulse jumped when he reached you and took your hand in his gloved one, his grip strong and unyielding. “You're mine,” he said, his voice rough like gravel. “Long as I'm breathing and beyond.”
No one tried to help when he dragged you away. You didn’t fight him when he put you on his horse. You could only hold on as he rode off with you into the sunset.
Now you were under him, his thrusts deep and unrelenting. You felt him everywhere, inside and out. His cold eyes flashed with fire when he snaked a hand between you and rubbed your clit, your orgasm crashing over you before he filled you up. You closed your watery eyes, his beard rubbing your cheek.
“Oh, we’re not done yet,” he promised, dark and deep.
You belonged to the outlaw now.
Listen. It's not so bad. Love and thanks for reading. ❤️
