every now and then my soft spot for bloom and stella reignites, and each time i'm reminded how beautifully the series avoids tropes and favors subtlety in terms of character dynamics and relationships. with bloom and stella, their friendship never started as a trope. their friendship was never motivated by the need to fabricate a dramatic storyline. instead, their friendship started as an innocent and curious fascination that blossomed into something resembling a twin flame dynamic. their friendship stands out because of who they are, how they meet and how they need (and keep needing) each other in their respective stories. it has always been about the characters rather than tropes or caricatures or means of advancing the plot.

Three Ships: I switch constantly between my favourite ships... so here are some I'm currently obsessed with:

Vin/Elend (Mistborn): I'm almost finished with the first book and I love them so much. They just make me feel so giddy.

Nesta/Cassian (A Court of Thorns and Roses): Mostly pre-ACOFAS, though. ACOWAR Nessian has my heart. Also Gwynriel.

i've always thought riven got unnecessary hate for the scene in which he storms off and announces he's going to transfer to another squad in season one. naturally, i thought i'd chime in with my two cents that no one asked for.

first of all, it is important to understand what led to his confrontational demeanor. his hostility did not stem from him being an inherently 'shitty' person or just because he had lost the race. before the race even began, riven had a pot of water dumped on him (which was more or less warranted) and then he was given a faulty helmet that resulted in his loss in the race. now, we as viewers, are aware that bloom was tricked into giving riven the helmet as an apology gift, but riven doesn't know that. given the past humiliation and his lack of familiarity with bloom, it is understandable that riven finds it reasonable to question her motives. to riven, it makes more sense that bloom must have sabotaged him just so that sky could win. which, yes, sky did somehow end up winning by default.

what ultimately served as the breaking point was sky agreeing with bloom (a girl sky barely knew at the time) and taking her side over his. on some level, riven felt betrayed because he's known sky for a longer time. again, viewers know sky and others were only trying to understand the situation and not take sides. here, riven could have shown maturity by pausing and talking things out, but by this point, he had started perceiving everything as a personal attack since no one was offering him any backing because no one (minus bloom) knew what had exactly happened. it was a bit of a tricky situation for everyone involved.

to be clear, i'm not saying riven was innocent – because he wasn’t; he kept toying with the line between bantering and being arrogant until he took it too far and provoked bloom – but to call him mean-spirited or hateful without understanding the context is ridiculous.

do you like winx's music? i think the original songs have always been a highlight of the show, and seasons 5 and 6 were kind of a step down from the first four but they had so many great songs :)

I do, and I agree – the show has so many amazing bops! I'm definitely more of a fan of the original songs, but I do like a lot of the songs from the later seasons as well.

Do you think Flora would enjoy rozenkukken? I like to believe the girls would get them for her because they have pink frosting, and Flora won't have the heart to tell them that she finds them too sweet (on the topic of Dutch snacks). I like to believe Flora would prefer more subtle flavours.

I hope you're referring to "roze koek" aka a classic Dutch cake with pink frosting because neither I nor my Dutch friend are familiar with the term "rozenkukken." I should also mention that I'm not actually super familiar (or at all) with Dutch snacks; I just know some, and I will absolutely rave about them because that's what you do when you have known a Dutchie for over seven years. It's a canon event. I have no say in it.

That little ramble aside, let's get to your actual question. I like your headcanon. I think it would be easy to assume that Flora would be into all things pink and sweet, and I definitely think the rest of the girls would assume the same. Fun fact: there's a study that suggests that people with a sweet tooth tend to have sweeter dispositions—check it out if you want to, but take it with a grain of salt. I imagine Flora would be into earthy and nutty flavors, with a touch of sweetness, but too much. I can see her enjoying homebaked sweets and pastries but hating the store-bought treats because they taste too sugary and artificial to her.
