Hey. My name’s Mist— as some of you probably already know— and I uh. Yeah. I’m a Blader. But I’m not on any Pro team… at least in the publics eyes…

I’m a huge fan of Ciel Kaminari who happens to be my best friend too. He introduced me to this place. At the time of making this post, no, I’m not answering questions about him or Pendragon.

Feel free to pester me considering I’m doing a whole lot of nothing as of now. If it’s about battling though, I’ll have to deny those requests.

I also doodle sometimes. If you want something of someone just let me know… I’ll post it on my exclusive blog @not-kamenx

During the dead of night, Ciel leaves the attic and silently sneaks out of Komaba Sushi. Once he slides close the entrance, he walks as quickly as he can to an empty part of Xenon City.

He starts to slow down once he reaches the route he had in mind. Ciel slips into the shadows casted by the tall buildings and starts walking aimlessly.

There was no real reason nor thought behind this action. But it was something Ciel began to do when he couldn’t sleep— which was often now due to his nightmares— and he found it soothing to the mind.

There’s really nothing out here in these parts… reminds me of the time Mentor, Robin, Jaxon and I went to rescue Packun.

Ciel smiles to himself.

Hope there’s no Shadow Pros waiting to kidnap me too. The smile left as I quickly as it appeared. …Not that they’d want a Champion of the Slash Tower who lost so pathetically to Team Zodiac.

I was a fool for thinking I was even close to a Champion’s level. That battle at the title match, that battle against Zodiac, it was awful. I deluded myself to believe I could catch up to Chrome that easily, no matter for whose sake it was.

Ciel stops and reached into his shorts pockets. He takes out the Balance-type version of Shelter Drake and cups it in both his hands.

I’m sorry.

Packun entrusted me with you, all versions of you, and I have yet to fully master you on my own. Ciel’s face scrunches up and he presses his lips together. If I’m going to surpass Chrome, I’ve got to—

Before Ciel can finish that thought, he whips his head around and whips out his launcher out his other pocket (how did he even nap with that thing???), the only thing he could think of that would remotely protect him.

Ciel was about to point out how Mist was avoiding the topic of Chrome but he stopped himself as soon as Mist talked about remembering something Ciel said.

The trembling slows. Ciel’s breathing starts to even again, and he finds it peculiar how he’d even started breathing heavily in the first place.

Before anything, Mist always thought of others, especially Ciel. He always thought of them as friends even if they weren’t really considered as such anymore. As much as Ciel wanted to push Mist away and ignore the dreadful reality…

Uh, well, I’m just probably gonna stay an amateur. I want to beat Ciel’s record for the most wins as an amateur Blader before he went Pro when I have the time.

Which will probably not be much considering I have to go find him since he’s come back from his whole disappearing thing.

Considering there are a LOT of pro bladers, let alone both pro and amateur, yeah that's a lot. But working in a tech store has its benefits, so I've been keeping up alright. And SO, I'll be able to watch you break Ciel's record too!

Nowadays, I mostly enjoy drumming. I sometimes do streams where viewers can submit songs for me to drum to. And rollerblading! I've been rollerblading every morning too, and dodging cops at that...

But blading-wise... beycrafting. I still beycraft sometimes. [How sincere, and yet there seems to be some little details to do with blading they've failed to mention.] ໒꒱

The police is strict which just.. sucks. I can rollerblade safely and am in full control. I know what I'm doing. Rules are all the same, I swear...

I'm not a 'full' Beycrafter of any sorts. There are some beys I'm happy with but I don't really release them to the public. They're all a bit.. odd, but that's how I've been making beys. [Conni seemed to cheer up talking about beycrafting, but at the mention of unsaid words.. You thought they reacted oddly but they looked just the same the next time you looked.]

Oh, it's really nothing much! I mean, if you're interested in nonsensical fiction about 'underground operations' I could tell you, but not everyone's interested in that genre. ໒꒱

I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have assumed anything or judged you before you explained. Now that I think about it, it really sucks how they monitor silly things but not serious situations.

Odd beys? I don’t really get it. Do you mean like, beys that were banned under B4’s rules before some restrictions got lifted? He takes a moment to ponder. Or do you mean beys that weren’t made for Blading?

His curiosity seems to come out with every sentence that Conni says, and Mist’s interest seemed to peak at their last statement.

I’m always in the mood for a good story! Uh, that’s um, if I’m not bothering you.

Hey look, it's no big deal! I expected it anyway.

But basically what you said before! I experimented with rubber beys before the ban was lifted, so now beys that have been sitting in my room can be used for official matches now! Well, only some. I've tried making things like spring beys, projectile beys, magnetic beys, and a whole lot more that B4 would probably just ban...

As for the story though, this has been on my mind for ages! Basically, what if there was a secret, dark side to blading? What if there was some sort of secret society where people bladed with no rules? There'd be no such thing as good sportsmanship or fair play, only who wins and who loses. Then in the end, the strongest blader takes over the world!

But uh.. problem is I can't seem to find where that story came from! I remember reading it somewhere but I can't seem to find it again. It's probably obscure media or something. ໒꒱ [As silly as the story sounded, they still needed to make sure Mist didn't try sticking his nose where it didn't belong.]

Mist looks ever so slightly concerned at the mention of projectile beys but it looks as if he’s choosing to gloss over these concerning details.

(I guess that’s just how some Beycrafters experiment… scary.)

…You kind of lost me at taking over the world. Blading? Having a dark side of all things? The strongest Blader takes over the world? That… kinda sounds like some fantasy world a kid made up.

He looks unsure of his own words though. There’s a gleam in his eye that seems to be convinced anything is possible but it’s gone in a blink as he looks up. Mist’s awkwardness seems to vanish unnervingly quickly, though.

Maybe some matches can be rigged for money, sure. After all, Blading’s like any other sport and some people do it for the money. But that obviously has to be some weird rumor from a site like Bey-chan. It’s like if you told me a soccer player was able to wipe the entire population off the planet in the blink of an eye.

The awkwardness returns again, like a switch was flipped. One of Mist’s thumbs comes up to scratch the material on the strap of his bag, before he decides to bow his head.

I thought you’d berate me for what happened. After all… the reason why Ciel disappeared was partly because of me.

Kamen Y tilts his head.

Sometimes I wonder what goes on inside your head. You have potential, you’re surrounded by strong Bladers, you could keep moving forward, and yet you choose to stay stuck in the past.

Is Ciel that important to you?

Would you be willing to abandon Comet Calico for a bond that could come down and destroy itself?

A mixture of emotions swirl inside Mist’s eyes at the first comment. But then, the glimmer hardens, and there’s a flicker of bright red.

Don’t ever say that to me when you’ve done the same. No, you’re doing it right now too. You can’t move on from Jaxon Cross, can you? You’re so obsessed you can’t see the fact you’ve already lost everything in trying to become close with him again.

Tears gather in the corner of his eyes, and whatever fight had appeared was gone as quickly as it had come.

Ciel is that important to me. But maybe you’d never understand because you’ve never taken a step back to reflect on everything you feel before taking action!
