"Sorry for getting back to you so late on your assignment. You did what I asked for, except for the benefits of Jujitsu to the streets. I'll just assume it was implied. A."
* // what if the white cat tried to talk?
Oh, well being unable to die isn’t that bad you know. You get to meet all sort of interesting people from all over the world and from different times. Plus you don’t have to worry about getting wrinkles.
[Salem tried to be serious for a moment and even perhaps failed miserably with his comment since he was pretty fond of his immortaility as a warlock.]
Oh, sorry for the late introduction.
And don’t you get tired of just “observing”? I mean, I judge people all the time but even I get bored of doing that at times.
[Perhaps again off from the point, he replied with whatever was in his mind. It was a wonder how someone such as him was able to almost conquer the world.]
Hearing the cat's attempt of encouragement, Shijima instantly slammed her head on the desk in front of her. That was the last thing she wanted to ever hear from anyone.
For someone that craved a thing such as power, the state of not being able to die might be a miracle... but if you were a random cat who had nothing to live for, being forced upon immortality was just pure torture. Even if that 'meeting all sort of interesting people' sounded like something she wouldn't mind, all of those hobbies that involved observing, analyzing, and researching were all because she had nothing else to do with her free time.
Resting her head on its side, she stared at the cat. "I never even thought about aging." The thought never even touched her mind... animals didn't particularly care about a lot of things humans cared about. Like a bald human worrying about how the humid weather will affect his hair. Non-existent.
"But observing is what I do. It's like..." She lifted her head up, rolling her eyes slowly... trying to find a word that suited that activity of her. "... hobby. Sometimes it's just really hard for me to understand human reasoning. That's why it's... interesting."
"Hey Salem..." ... Wait a moment. If he was a warlock... "Can you use some weird magic to make my form talk? Or did they punish you into a useless cat... Wait, what class do you even teach?"
* // what if the white cat tried to talk?
[Io wasn’t sure how to respond to the cat’s actions since it seemed similar to when a cat was about to spit a furball but this didn’t seem to be the case so this time he took out a bottle of water and poured some into the bottlecap and put it in the ground near the cat.]
I don’t know if this will help but here.
[Io was wondering if the cat might be sick and needed a professional’s help or if it was just something that he couldn’t understand but wasn’t harmful really and hoped it was the second one.]
Well, I guess for the time being until I find out your name I’ll just call you Shiroyuki because you’re white as snow.
"...!!!"
Wow, what a kind human! Even if he misunderstood what she was doing... or at least, trying to do, he didn't respond in a weird way. Ah, she never actually encountered a human that was this kind to animals... or maybe she just kept running into the wrong ones. The bottlecap--- she immediately lifted the cap with her mouth, making most of its little content pour into her mouth, though the rest of it just dripped from her mouth.
She then purred a loud one and without bothering to put the little bottlecap down, she circled the male's leg, rubbing her face onto his leg. Shiroyuki was such an elegant name, even for her... but it sounded better than... well... Shiratama.
Dropping the little cap, she tried to show approval of the name by meowing happily as she kept circling the boy's leg. Aaah, she definitely liked it a lot. His kindness and the name he gave her.
calling you "bunch of fucking sadists" .01
‘Five… Four… Three… Two…’
She tried to count down as patiently as possible in her head. Every second that ticked away made this committee all the more closer to being late. She wondered what kind of image that would bring to the school. Upholding the law but disobeying their own. They were proving to be a colorful bunch already.
Just as she thought about the perfect punishment for them all someone appeared, saved from the wrath to come, how lucky. “Are you in the disciplinary committee?” Answering a question with a question was sure to get the ball rolling. She’d already met one student running around to the wrong rooms, might as well make corrections before assumptions this time.
It wasn't an answer, but she did get her desired information. To her answer though, she only responded with a nod. "I was in the student council back at my old school, but I thought this would be more suitable." More like, this wasn't a shinobi school in disguise, so she didn't need to. And being in the student council would be more work anyway.
"So I assume you're the supervisor? You do look quite one for a teacher..." And possibly younger than Shijima herself... unless she was like that cat who was 700 years old. Though... ah, the aura the lady was giving off felt odd. Well, most people gave off different odd auras anyway. "How many members are there? From what I've seen... no, observed so far, laws are being broken in every corner of the school every single day. But I think we should aim for the ones that are really bringing the rest of us... in danger." The way she talked really sometimes didn't suit her look... but oh well. She did what she needed to do to gain information.
* // what if the white cat tried to talk?
“Ah! I see!” The white wolf replied, with a wolfish grin on her features. Her ink dipped tail swished about a few times. The ink that seemed to be on the tip of it seemed to drip off, once hitting the tile of the room, caused for a few fresh flowers to bloom, the appeared for a few seconds with a shimmer - then they disappeared, like that! Oh, she definitely wasn’t a normal wolf, as the other had seen. “I suppose you aren’t interested in Art 2 then?” A pause, ” but it doesn’t matter. ” She cleared her throat then.
“I’m an teacher, as you can see, ” a pause, ” Or..not.” She wrinkled black nose, peering at the smaller animal, rather student and took another step. ” And I teach Art 2, ” The wolfish grin stayed intact, ” And my name is Amaterasu, what’s yours, little one?”
Shijima titled her head, watching the dripping ink and how it disappeared. It wasn't really 100% surprising. She did come from the world of shinobi after all... but it was still something that she never came across. Though she wasn't really curious enough to actually ask. Maybe the look on her face could give that away. "No, not really. I don't really understand art." She admitted, scratching her head. Art really sounded like... something very human like to do. "The only electives I'm taking are life management skills... and computers?" Her tone was unsure. She wasn't even certain what computers were at first... but still took it anyway.
Interesting really, to see this wolf being a teacher at such a school. Shijima understood that she should maybe stop lowering her expectations at this school. There were too many things that came to her by surprise.
"I'm Shijima Kurookano. Sophomore student. I haven't been here for too long really." She paused for a moment... Then she connected the ink she saw dripping from the wolf's tail with the subject the other animal was teaching. It made sense... sort of. "I could attend your class and just watch... I guess. I wanna see how you teach." Quite straightforward, that last part.

[The conversation had been taking so many shifts and spins that Salem had gotten so into it that he had completely forgotten both the fact that the girl was still naked and the fact that they hadn’t even properly introduced to each other.]
Hey! No need to be so “delicate”! Jeez, Sabrina used to treat me better than this -sobs-… Ah, well you see, I wasn’t always this “handsome”. I used to be an over 700-years old warlock but then I attempted to conquer the world and in a stupid mistake on my part was caught by the council of witches and was condemned to live a century in this form.
So since the beginning I’ve been able to talk like this in front of others er… well, I was supposedly not allowed to talk to mortals like this but that part of my sentence was lifted when I came to work here.
[So basically what he was saying was that he had no trouble on talking while being in that form, in any case, it was better than just going “meow meow” on people and trying to have them guess what he wanted all the time.]
"Oh." His explanation was definitely a bit unexpected... and confusing. Though it did explain some things even if it triggered a bunch of new questions for her to ask. "Sorry about... being delicate." She retorted, almost sounding as if she took the word 'delicate' seriously.
Then the word mortal caught her attention more than anything and she sighed. "Silly cat, I'm not even a mortal." She gave the black cat a light pat on the head. It sure felt weird to give pat another cat... "But I guess since you told me your story, it was time to tell you mine."
Maybe she was a bit disappointed that he was turned into a cat than actually being one in the first place... but he lived more than three times longer than her. Who knew how long he had spent being a cat.
"I was a cat." She sighed. "And as a result of an experiment I..." Pausing, Shijima tried to find the right words to say. She never actually had to explain it to someone before. Kouichi took on that role, but the guy wasn't here. "... became like this and I... can't die." That was pretty much it, really. Oh, right! Even if they both weren't exactly humans, she still remembered that it was easier if two people that just met introduced each other. "I'm Shijima Kurookano and my job is to observe what's around me."
You Say Zed, I Say DEAD [Life Management Skills, Class Open!]
The little man never minded or cared that his class sometimes had a couple of students greater or less than what the official roster told him. It was nice to have company, and it was also nice to have peace. Besides, it allowed him to flex his cerebral muscles a little and think outside the box about what he taught and what he did. It kept him on his toes almost as much as Cersei and the entire Lannister clan had. Well… Cersei, not so much. Poor girl had a beautiful bosom but not as much brainpower as she would have liked.
But dealing with the undead personally was something Tyrion had never had the pleasure of doing. In books, he’d heard of them. The wights. The others. Those tainted by the undead became undead themselves, and then the only thing that could stop their approach was a nice dose of flame. But since he’d probably be deemed an arsonist for burning school property, the best that could be done was to knock them out and wait for backup.
The question gave Tyrion pause. “… I’ve never had the good fortune to encounter an immortal, but from what I know they probably wouldn’t be infected. My basic understanding is that to be zombified, a being is basically killed before coming back. If one cannot be killed, all they’ll have is a fairly annoying wound to deal with.”
Seeing the weapon, Tyrion nodded and couldn’t suppress a smile. “Good. We need all the capable fighters that we can get at this point. You need to stay in the back, to watch for any sudden threats behind us. Everyone who can fight, stay on the outside. Keep the weaker ones inside.” Which would usually be Tyrion himself. But nobody likes a coward leader, meaning he would have to stay at the front.
Wonderful.
"Hrmm..." His answer didn't disappoint her. A fairly annoying wound didn't sound too bad for her. She did lose her arm once and... assembled it back onto herself. Oh well. Having that confirmed, she could at least act without getting worried of having to be infected by those weird creatures.
But being instructed to stay back was maybe at first a bit disappointing, but it just made her remember her purpose of being at a school anyway. Not her main purpose, which she really had gathered no information of so far, but this was... maybe not too bad.
Shijima failed to return the smile and let her hands fall to her sides. It if wasn't for her own satisfaction, it was still a challenge for her to keep up with human etiquette... even if the teacher's appearance didn't really look like human. Ah, this was why being a simple animal would be much easier... She ended up only nodding at the teacher.
Speaking of sudden threats--- "Oh."
Even in her human form, Shijima's hearing was still sharper than most people, and she was able to hear it before most other people. She tried to squish herself through in between the amount of students panicking, and reached for the door, putting a force against it. A few other students seemed to have understood her actions and joined her in and just a moment later, the door started shaking. "... This was way faster than I anticipated." Her gaze turned towards the teacher, and being the smartass she could be at times, she stated the obvious. "We can't even get out like this, maybe we let them in and fight them that way."
* // what if the white cat tried to talk?
Well that was unexpected.
[Salem was surprised alright since he didn’t know that there were people in here that could switch into cat form and back out of their own will but of course his first thought was that this woman was also a witch. The fact that she wasn’t even bothered by her nakedness didn’t even seem to concern him either since well… he was pretty much naked all the time as well. Salem reacted to the poke on his head by just looking at her in the eyes as if asking “was that really necessary?” but didn’t speak those words.]
You’re a student? Well that was an awkward mistake from my part then.
[Salem, once again, used to give more importance to the least important things in a conversation or at least most of the time.]
Well, a witch was Shijima not. Only the result of some crazy experiments. Humans were always so selfish, doing whatever they wanted, at times beyond reasoning. But this cat here... she wondered if he had a thing such as short term memory loss. Their topic of discussion had been way off from what the black cat first asked. Since she doubted that the other cat would go on track again any time soon, Shijima decided to talk about it first. Being in human form without clothes was sure weird, but this cat didn't seem bothered so it was no issue.
"Were you always a talking cat? Recently I have been wanting to talk in my cat form to avoid awkward situations like this but I don't know how it would work."
Without waiting for an answer, she stood up, before lifting the black cat up by its stomach with one hand. "Sitting on the floor like that is not comfortable as a human." And with that, she tossed the cat on a desk as she proceeded to sit down on the chair by the desk.

“Remember not to take anything too far. Rest if you’re not in your classes. Take the medicine I’ve given you as I directed or you’ll find yourself in more trouble. And no more figh— Oi! Souji! Don’t walk away from me!”
“I got it, I got it.” No sooner had he tugged his shirt back on and done up the buttons of his uniform’s blazer that he was off; slipped off the infirmary’s bed, paid no heed to the doctor’s instruction and flat out ignored him as he continued to walk away. He’d heard the same thing over and over, but he knew it couldn’t be helped in the long run, so why bother? He didn’t care at the moment.
His only goal was to leave the room and find something to make him happy, like a nicely cooked dinner or some delicious food to at least snack on until bed. The words from a teacher weren’t going to hold him back now. “Hmph, and why does he always.. —” His foot froze when he opened the door the rest of the way, noticing the furry white thing just in time to stop himself from squishing it. Looking down in front of his shoe, he realized with slight surprise what it was. A cat? In the school?
Blinking, he stepped out of the room and shut the door behind him, staring down at the cat in front of him. It was white, unlike the coloured kitten he’d seen before that had undoubtedly stolen his fresh fish. Just how many cats were there in this school, exactly?
He leaned down to its level, offering a smile in an attempt to show that he could be friendly when he wanted to! “How’d you get in here, kitty? Looking for fresh food too?” It certainly wouldn’t find any here, considering the infirmary was far from any spot of food except for maybe lollipops, but that counted as a treat and something he was sure a cat wouldn’t enjoy. No, they’d both have to go else where for food, and he was beginning to wonder about how much harder it would be for a cat compared to a human to find something yummy to eat. Without even questioning the cat’s response, Souji reached out his hand, and gently scratched behind her ears. “If you promise not to take what isn’t yours like all the cats before you, I’ll treat you to something nice.” Really, Souji? Taking a cat out to lunch? Well, if they were both hungry, he honestly didn’t see why not. And besides, he liked cats; sometimes. “Come on. ~” He held out both hands this time, as an offer to pick her up and save her the journey of walking all the way into town.
The faint smell of antiseptic became stronger and stronger and Shijima wondered how and why she even followed the trail of smell. Weren't there rumors about sadistic nurses and doctors as well as students that became their victim? She wasn't all that interested in that matter, but she had already gotten there so going back and starting over would be a waste of time... even if she had the whole time in the world for such a simple thing.
At first she didn't realize but when Shijima looked up, there was shoe that would certainly squish her if it moved any further. At first her instinct was to run away, but then she remembered that even if she was physically stomped and had her bone crushed that all wouldn't matter anyway. If she was dead, then that would be more than she ever wished, but she couldn't. That was what being immortal meant.
That said, the human stopped and even took a good look at her. Quite considerate, seeing how he leveled down like that. "Meow?" Aaaah, human affection was always so great. The scratch behind her ears made Shijima purr deeply without her even noticing it. This would've been maybe humiliating as human, but heck, she could enjoy these privileges as a cat, no?
A kind human, he was, wanting to offer food, though that might be because he just recovered from something? Why else would he be at the infirmary? Humans did have their ways to support them emotionally, right? Being kind to animal might be one of them...
For a moment, Shijima felt really bad for wanting to use something who just recovered from whatever he had, but it was no different for him, right? He was probably using her because she was the first thing he found after finally leaving a place like that.
And then he mentioned about cats before her? Whoever that cat was, that was just really unprofessional of them to get caught. If Shijima did it, she wouldn't let anyone catch her like that. HA. But of course, his offer was tempting. She couldn't say no to that. As he offered both of his hands, she wasn't quite sure how to react, so to answer him, she lifted a paw and rested it on one of his hands. A meow followed her action. That was her answer.
You Say Zed, I Say DEAD [Life Management Skills, Class Open!]
Most teachers would not be teaching during the middle of a zombie infestation, especially when they were not especially equipped for combat. Then again, most teachers were not Tyrion Lannister. He liked to do things people did not expect, and liked doing things for his own benefit. Besides, what better time to learn how to manage one’s life than while it was in jeopardy?
And so it happened to be that the little man was at the head of a small group of rag-tag students who were out to maim and injure whatever zombies they saw. “Usually, when your life is in danger, the smart thing to do would be hide and wait until the danger has passed.” A muffled moan to his side alerted the dwarf to the presence of a zombie. One whose teeth he bashed in with a piece of pipe looted from the janitor’s closet. “However, there comes a time when hiding is unavoidable, in which case you must learn how to protect yourself.”
“This is not self-defense class. I will not be guiding you through the quickest and most efficient way to take these things out. But what I WILL do is give you a few survival guides for how best to tough things out, deal with injuries, and get through easily. For instance, by being in a group you’ve substantially increased your chances of survival. At this point I would ask for a round of applause, but you might all get eaten while we have it, so it’s best not to.”
“Any questions or comments before we continue on with this lesson? Or anything any of you might like to share?”
It started out as one of those boring days and Shijima didn't actually belong in this Life Management Skills class. She had picked a teacher to her liking and she really enjoyed his class, but she had a reason why she took the class itself and always wanted to know more, so she always secretly sneaked into other teacher's classes with the same subject because she just had that much free time.
Of course, the little outbreak was a bit unexpected to her, but it was her chance to do what she liked to do-- analyzed people's behaviour and reasoning. And well, the result wasn't really unexpected. There were students trying to man and some others that tried to hold in their emotion and fear.
Thing was, though, that most of the time, Shijima actually had her metal claws with her, and this time it was no exception. After all, everyone knew how dangerous this school was, even without some crazy zombie outbreak happening. That, and there was a lot of students that did the same. It was a bit weird for a school to let a rule like that, if there was one, to be broken.
As the teacher tried to explain certain things, Shijima let out a tiny sigh. Maybe it was ironic that he mentioned self-defense class, since, well, she did indeed take that class aside from this one.
To the teacher's questions, Shijima raised a hand up and even without the teacher's instruction or permission, she asked him a question right away instead of waiting for him to realize that she had something to say. "I am not talking about myself, but let's say someone unable to die, would they still be infected by those thing? And also---" Lifting her right hand up as she paused for the teacher to see, she added on to her previous sentence.
"I have a weapon with me. I can help."
* // what if the white cat tried to talk?
[Io really liked cats so he always welcomed any cat that was in the surroundings with open arms and that’s why he usually had some food that cats could like to give out whenever he found one, which was pretty often for him. Io crouched as the cat seemed to had opened up to him and started petting it.]
What a cute cat, you sure must have an owner who takes care of you right?
[The cat had even a pretty soft fur and it looked well taken care of, so his obvious conclusion was that it had an owner that cared for it and that would be the reason for it to look like that. Not only that but white cats weren’t very common so he decided to think that was the case.]
I wonder if you have a name.
[He couldn’t just call it “cat” forever and even if he weren’t to see it again, he hoped to know it’s name to remember it in case he came across the owner.]
Well, it had been a while since Shijima actually saw her actual owner as a cat, but that didn't mean she couldn't take care of herself... Although she was quite impressed with this guy's observation. Not a lot of people would think that far... surprisingly. Most humans really didn't think too far when they didn't feel like they had to.
"Meow?" She wondered whether trying to talk would scare this guy away... So far he had been really nice. Maybe she should had brought her collar with her so he wouldn't have to come up with a new name that she might dislike... but Shijima had a feeling that she wouldn't mind a name from him anyway.
She tried to take a deep breath and voice herself out from her throat. What she attempted to do only came out as weird noises, which sounded like a mix between a cough and a hiss.
"..."
'What even.' Even the immortal herself was weirded out by the sound she made.
And so, in her first computers class, Shijima Kurookano attempted to make a poster to promote the Cat Club at Tancho Academy.
Guess who has too much time. [background credit]
