i do think it’s interesting how some people are sad that alicent isn’t portrayed as an “evil scheming queen” the way she apparently was in the book when the fandom reaction to her shows that on the whole she is actually interpreted that way.

like the show deciding to be like ‘hm let’s look deeper into this historical-style narrative and decide to flesh her out and empathize with her’ and the vast majority of viewers reacting to that like “she’s a bitch and i hate her.” like we’re seeing in real time how inaccurate historical narratives get formed lol
