Good for witches
Concept: I live in a tiny cabin in the woods. I dry my laundry on a clothes line. I wake with the sun, stay up late reading and nap during the afternoon in a hammock. I have a garden full of flowers, herbs, vegetables and berries. I go on picnics regularly by a nearby river. I rarely need to leave my beautiful home tucked away in the forest.

Hi, I'm new to witchcraft and I know the Mabon starts today, do know how to celebrate it? If not, is there somewhere you can direct me to? I know I can look it up but I was hoping to hear it from an experienced witch😊
Hello, friend! Here’s a basic rundown of the holiday and how you might want to celebrate it!
What is Mabon?
Mabon is the second harvest festival of the Wheel of the Year, and it corresponds with the Autumn Equinox. However, some witches opt to celebrate Mabon for the entire week surrounding the equinox, not just the day itself. It is a celebration of the Autumn season, of what we have gained through our hard work, and of the abundance that fills our lives. It is also a time for contemplation of and preparation for the Dark Half of the year and the coming winter.
When is Mabon?
The Autumn Equinox is officially on September 23, 2019. However, Mabon can be celebrated any time between September 21 and September 29.
How Do You Celebrate Mabon?
How you celebrate will really depend on your personal practice, but common activities are:
Honoring deities associated with the harvest through prayer, ritual, and offerings
Expressing gratitude for what you have
Spending time in nature to observe the subtle changes of the seasons shifting
Casting spells and/or performing rituals for prosperity and protection
Honoring and giving offerings to the ancestors
Spending time with friends, family, and other loved ones
Having a grand feast
Decorating your altar with season-appropriate items
Clean and cleanse your personal space
I wish you a lovely and abundant first Mabon!

The houses role in Astrology 1 ✨
& a breakdown of the modalities, elements, 4 sections of the chart, & the MC, ASC, DC, & IC.
If you’ve never really seen what a house wheel looks like, it basically looks like a giant pizza. This wheel rotates on a 24 hour rotation and shifts every few minutes which is why it so heavily relies on your accurate birth time. Anyway, there are 12 sections, known as houses, that make up this wheel and each house corresponds with one of the 12 zodiacs. These houses are basically the “area of life” within astrology which we will get further into as we go through each one. Part 2 here.
✨House 1: The house of Aries
The first house, otherwise known as the Ascendant (ASC) or “rising” sign, is the house of the self and the first impression in life. It represents not only the individuals physical body but also ones self identity, self image, & self awareness. Info on the Ascendant here.
✨House 2: The house of Taurus
Where the first house speaks to self image and self identity, the second house speaks to what it is you value in life which in turn links to your self esteem. It is the house that rules possessions, material items, how you spend and make your money, and other “values” that may or may not be physical. Info on the 2nd house here.
✨House 3: The house of Gemini
The third house is the house of networking, communication, & your connection and relationship with your siblings & coworkers, short distance travel (day to day & short trips), transportation, and “lower education.” Anything in regards to communication (social media, technology, etc) are all areas of the 3rd house. Info on the 3rd house here.
✨House 4: The house of Cancer
The fourth house, otherwise known as the Imun Colei (IC), is the house of the maternal figure (mother, femininity), the home and domesticity, as well as your childhood & “roots.” This house is also linked to the idea of death & the “resting place.” Info on the 4th house here.
✨House 5: The house of Leo
The fifth house is the house of fun, creativity, self expression, & children. This is the house that rules over the creative aspects of life such as the arts, drama, creating (physically = kids), casual dating, gambling, partying, etc. Info on the 5th house here.
✨House 6: The house of Virgo
The sixth house is the house of health & service. This is the house that rules over routine, employment, & anything involving the service of others. This is also a very health conscious house - illness, sickness, cleanliness, & medicine are all themes here. Info on the 6th house here.
✨House 7: The house of Libra
The seventh house is the house of partnerships & our relationships with others. These partnerships consist of romantic, platonic, & business - it is not strictly a romantic house. Info on the 7th house here.
✨House 8: The house of Scorpio
The eighth house is the house of death, sex, rebirth, & finances. The 8th house takes spirituality & depth to a whole new level, it demonstrates the importance and depth of those concepts. Info on the 8th house here.
✨House 9: The house of Sagittarius
The ninth house is the house of higher concepts, travel, philosophy, religion, and life experiences that ultimately lead to learning & gaining knowledge. Info on the 9th house here.
✨House 10: The house of Capricorn
The tenth house is the house of career & public image. This is the house that shows you how you are viewed publicly/how you want to be viewed publicly, career, your reputation in the community, outer image, & who you want to become. Info on the 10th house here.
✨House 11: The house of Aquarius
The eleventh house is the house of friendship, community/community affairs, organizations, groups, friendships & group relationships, overall dynamic between you & others, acquaintances. Info on the 11th house here.
✨House 12: The house of Pisces
The twelfth house is the house of the subconscious mind, intuition, dreams, psychic qualities & abilities, our sleep self, things we’re illusioned from, fears & personal nightmares.. Info on the 12th house here.
