I've always felt like the Chuuya and Ranpo of your switch!au would have the "only I can talk smack about them" best friend dynamic

Like imagine them just finishing a case and Chuuya complaining abt Ranpo to the detective in question but then a police officer says to their colleague "Hey that detective is really annoying" behind their backs and Chuuya just does a 180 glaring at them and says "what the fuck did you just say"

OH FOR SURE a lot of the time it saves ranpo the energy of having to prove the petty detectives wrong but much like everyone else in the ADA he’s been put on chuuya-watch. they have a strict policy of not siccing chuuya on a person for minor inconveniences.

Hi hi I just wanna ask, would chuuya adopt a dog in ur au? A pug perhaps? Or a golden retriever? Bonus if the dog and atsushi have some weird personal beef going on over chuuya's affection. (Dazai too but he's just lurking in the shadows)

YES!! he deserves a pug <3 kenji’s family back home had a litter of puppies and chuuya was very enthusiastic about taking one off their hands (he wanted all of them but yosano kicked some sense into him)

atsushi’s personal beef with the puppy comes in the form of chuuya putting her above missions in his list of priorities. the puppy is extremely smug about being the favorite when chuuya enforces a bring your pet to work day. dazai? he adopts his own dog to try and one up chuuya (and to gain back chuuya’s attention).

(TY FOR ENJOYING THE AU!!) soukoku may not be on speaking terms but if they happen to run into each other at the dog park and it happens to be at the same time, same day, every week and they also just *happen* to plan play dates for their puppies then that’s between them and god.

I don't know why, the idea of Chuuya making homemade food for Atsushi (since he has no money until his first pay or just because Chuuya's mother instincts went "the kid is too skinny he needs to eat") is not leaving my mind because it's just too cute as a bonding time

(if most of the food is hamburgers, well, Chuuya has more experience doing them)

Hello I was wondering if there’s a specific order I should read the switch au in? I’ve found some but so far it makes no sense to me but that could just be me being clueless. Also I love your art style!!!

I was also wondering what would Oda and the Flags think about Chuuya and Dazai in the switch au.

Statement. I love this AU. Chuuya being a fatherly towards Atsushi makes my heart just… EEEEE!!

2. Question. How do you think Chuuya would react to some of Atsushi’s more vulnerable moments, like the scene just after Q’s control, where Atsushi is kinda breaking down and Dazai slaps him. Do you think this version of Chuuya would respond the same way, or act differently?

I’m really sorry most of the questions are somehow about Atsushi. I’m a sucker for found family father-son dynamics and I always wanna know how people write them!

HELLOOO i think chuuya might be a bit more patient, if not awkward. it’s like talking to a younger version of himself sometimes and he has to remind himself that it isn’t his fault that someone gets hurt.

(p.s. IM SO GLAD YOU’RE ENJOYING THE AUUUUUUU!! and do not be sorry, i enjoy thinking about the chuuatsu dynamics!)

dazai and ranpo actually relatively get along (when they’re not actively trying to out IQ each other) for reasons of he gives ranpo snacks and ranpo fills him in on how chuuya is doing

but i love the idea of ranpo and chuuya being frenemies :,)) ranpo’s long since figured out the situation between soukoku so he’s probably the one person chuuya’ll go to about his problems—or yosano, chuuya likes her insight

I wonder how was Chuuya's entrance exam (if it was like dazai's or not)

chuuya had been scouted out by ranpo for a while after he’d left the pm. figuring out who chuuya was and his ability was a breeze but for as much as he read like an open book, the hard part was getting him to actually take the entrance exam. so ranpo kept trying to find loopholes where chuuya would accidentally perform a good deed in place of his exam. (spoiler alert: it works)
